I am a semi regular who visits a lot for work. I feel terrible because I don't think I have paused to get the name of the lady who typically helps me out - I believe she may be the owner. Note to self - ask on my next visit! Someone always greets you as soon as you walk in and has a smile on their face. Their dounts are light and airy, and you can easily eat a few without knowing. What I love is that one of their kolache options is beef! I don't do pork so usually my only option is egg and cheese. They have a spicy beef one that is delicious and I get one for myself every visit. Since I order a lot for work, they are really good about packing and labeling what I get. I also love that they have chocolate iced and sprinkle donut holes! Their cherry, Boston cream, and chocolate sprinkle are some of my favorites. The location on Virginia is ALWAYS out of ham and cheese kolaches (the thing I go there for) so early every Sunday. It's baffling to me if you are running out of one of the most popular items so early that you wouldn't up your production of that specific item to satisfy the demand. This has happened several Sundays now and it's really turned me off from wanting to go to Shipley's when there's several other donut places I purposely pass just to go there. read more

The management of this location is horrible! They don't listen to your order and will charge you for items you didn't purchase. They email you a receipt so I suggest you read it before you leave the establishment. I got home and saw that I was erroneously charged for a coffee and Do-Nuts that I didn't order. when I went back for an explanation, I was told it was close to the same amount of the items I did order so it didn't matter what my receipt said! UNBELIEVABLE!!! On top of that, she( the owner/manager) was rude in our exchange of words. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION! Pleasantly surprised to find a Shipley's here and the best thing is that there is a Drive Thru! Had to get a chocolate glazed, non glazed blueberry donut and a kolache. They have a good selection of donut flavors and it's great that they are open until 5pm on weekends. However, when we sat to eat inside we noticed that the bathroom sign says "all gender restroom." If you're like me and don't support this belief, I don't recommend this place. Knowing this, I wouldn't have given them business because there are many other donut shops I could go to instead. This will be my go-to place for doughnuts from this point forward. Shipley's is as good as it gets. The doughnuts were very delicious. Fluffy and cooked to perfection with just enough filling/coating. I can't rave about the taste enough and we selected quite a few: apple-filled, sugar, glazed, maple, maple with nuts, chocolate with nuts, and chocolate with coconut. All were spectacular! Although taste is a high priority for me, there were a few pet-peeves of mine that these guys didn't do, thank God. Their doughnuts were labeled! OMG what a wonderful thing, seriously. I hate going to a shop and having to ask, "what's the filling in this, what's that one?" -- it's annoying AF, but these guys label everything and I appreciated that. Pricing was also very clear on the menu and if you're unsure about something, ask. Example: The apple fritter counts as 2 doughnuts. I didn't know that, but reading a past review and seeing that the doughnut is bigger than the others, I asked and Casey, the cashier and doughnut connoisseur, politely answered. I am absolutely appalled with the customer service that my husband and I both experienced from Tina today. My husband came into the store this morning to use his rewards to get him and my son half a dozen glazed donuts. The first employee told my husband that their system did not accept rewards and hadn't been working in quite awhile and my husband said "that's strange, I have no problem using them at the plano location. Are you-all planning on getting the system fixed?" The employee said "let me check with my manager." It was then that Tina came over to my husband and son and told my husband that their system wasn't working and it must have happened today so she would need to put in a service request for it, and when my husband told her that her employee had just told him that it hadn't been working for quite some time, her response was "he wasn't supposed to tell you that." My husband looked at her to see if there was something she would do to remedy the situation but she told him he could either pay for his donuts or leave. My 6 y/o son left crying and asking my husband why she was so mean because she's always so nice.....we clearly come to this location a lot. I called the store requesting to speak to the owner and Tina accused me of cursing at her which I did not do. I actually record every conversation I have, so I can prove that I did not curse at her, and she told me she could give me the owner's name but no phone number, so I then asked when the next time he was scheduled to be in the store and she said she didn't know and then hung up on me. Both of my children play baseball and softball right down the street, so we come here often, but if this is the way your store allows your manager to talk to customers (in front of young children and other customers), then we will gladly take our business elsewhere. I called on Wednesday to place the order and the woman that answered the phone was beyond sweet and even gave me a 10% discount!
