I was excited to try Paris Baguette today. As I walked in I was amazed at all of the variety of pastries and baked goods. They had an area to sit and eat your items or you could take them to go. They had a tray and tongs you could use to get your items before purchase. I got some mochi donuts, crab meat croquette, a coconut cream filled croissant and a lemon creamed filled croissant donut to go. As I reached the check out counter my experience changed. I was not greeted as I reached the counter instead as I mentioned I had a code to scan the woman seemed upset and quickly said she was ringing up the items first. I figured it might have been a long morning. Then she said just scan it here. I tried scanning from my phone and it didn't scan quickly and she paused and looked at me and it was clear she was unhappy. I am honestly shocked by what happened to me on Mother's Day at this location. My family and I came in to enjoy what should have been a pleasant holiday outing. We purchased pastries, ordered coffee, and expected a normal experience. Instead, after paying, we waited over 20 minutes for our drinks with absolutely no warning from staff that there would be such an extreme delay. Multiple customers were visibly frustrated. I went back to the register and calmly said that customers should be warned in advance if wait times are going to be that long. On Mother's Day -- one of the busiest family holidays -- basic communication and respect should be expected. Instead, while I was sitting down, a male employee approached asking about my drinks. After walking away, another customer informed me that he called me a "stupid bitch" under his breath. Let that sink in: on Mother's Day, while I was out with my family, I was insulted and verbally degraded by an employee simply because I questioned poor service. No customer -- especially a mother spending her holiday with family -- should EVER be treated this way. I immediately called for a manager and reported everything. Yes, I was refunded, but a refund does not erase the humiliation, disrespect, and hostility. This was not just poor customer service -- it was deeply offensive, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Paris Baguette needs to seriously investigate this location and the behavior of its staff. Customers deserve honesty about wait times, but more importantly, they deserve basic human respect. Mother's Day was supposed to be special. Instead, this location turned it into one of the most disrespectful customer experiences I've had. read more

I was about two steps inside the door when I realized this place wasn't going to help my waistline. Paris Baguette in general has been on my radar a couple of years. This location a few months and this was my first trip inside a shop. What a great business model. You take a small tray and a pair of tongs,walk around the shop looking at all the delectable pastries,choosing as you go. Nobody is standing between you and your selection. This is dangerous as it feels like no barriers. No buffer or observer to judge,( are you sure you want that many)? As a result the combination of afternoon hunger and the sheer delight of seeing all these beautiful baked goods was too much. I over bought! You can too. It's a free world and you feel free to feed your inner pastry lover here. They also have a huge selection of hot and cold drinks/ coffees. Nice looking bohemoth of a machine eating LaVazza beans and spitting out cappuccino. While as of this writing I haven't sampled all I purchased,the one I did eat was delicious. Cute coffee shop next to the outlets! Now I stopped bc I was in the area. I loved that everything was stocked so I had a huge selection of pastries in the morning. I haven't had a chance to taste them all but they all look so amazing I'm sure they are good. My vanilla hot latte I gotta say I wasn't impressed much- compared to my Nespresso pods it didn't quite match which is disappointing because it's over $5 but maybe I needed to add sugar to it or something bc it was too tart and strong. I've been watching the progress of Paris Baguette and have been anticipating the opening for some time. I've been twice since they opened and have enjoyed both visits. When you enter take a moment to peruse the cases of food, cakes, pastries, sweet and savory offerings, and ready-made to-go items in the cold case. When you're ready grab a tray and tongs and go wild! Don't forget to check out their digital menu on the wall above the registers. They have a variety of drinks to accompany your pickings and there are tables both inside and out. My favorite so far has been the Chocolate Chip Scone and the Coffee Croissant Donut. I plan to return and try both the Almond & Chocolate Croissants to see how they compare to the competition and I'm also interested to try their Sweet Potato Bread. My husband enjoyed his Ham & Cheese Pastry and my kiddos really enjoyed their Cookies & Cream Mochi Donuts. A great place to meet a friend, enjoy something sweet, or just grab something to go. The french breads were great. There are other breads there I do not typically associate as french but perhaps I am not educated enough. The croissant is flaky and delicate. Perfect. The baguette has a crumb structure with large uneven holes, well hydrated, light and airy- exactament! Parfait! I was excited to purchase a bag of Lavazza coffee beans, however, the roast date was a year old. I prefer fresh roast so I skipped this purchase. My sandwich was cold, but my service was kind. I did not order any pastries, but they looked beautiful. The decor on the walls focused on the city of Allen. I think overall when you enter, it's a little confusing, is it about baguettes, is it about pastries, a coffee shop, is it about the city of Allen, or is it about Paris? I think once they know what their main focus is, they will have a stronger ability to provide a focused product. This franchise has promised, and I look forward to their continued refinement. Nice place with a large variety of sweet products, cakes, doughnuts, etc. I believe they open 3 or 4 months ago and look very popular. Nice patio on the side too. The employees look busy and a little tired or irritated. We visited on Sunday and the only thing I didn't understand is why they ask you to leave a tip when you are going to pay if they don't serve you, you have to serve yourself and the line was long and slow. My friend told me about this gem and of course i had to try it for myself!! I was immediately impressed with the aesthetic and cleanliness of the store! Omg! There were soo many pastries. We ended up trying a twisty donut, an apple turnover, & i ordered a Butter pecan latte. The latte was the best I've ever had!!! Apparently they use Lavazzo (italian coffee) & it's the literally best! I've ordered some for my house! The pastries were also very good. The only thing I wish was different was that they didn't offer to warm them up for us. I don't know what to think of this place after what I just saw. It was my first visit to PB and it was a lovely night with some girlfriends to meet for our book club. I got a lemon cream filled croissant and a Dubai chocolate mochi donut..both tasted great and I'd say their quality is much better in flavor than 85* bakery and sweet hut. A lot of times those places have things that look so beautiful but then the flavor is lacking. PB was much better for what I tried, although all items seemed pricier by $1-$3 comparatively. Also, the croissant was soft and chewy vs. flaky. (If you want a great croissant, go to La Casita in richardson- buttery, flaky perfection). 2 minutes before closing, we were the only ones left in the restaurant and I went to grab a few more things to bring home for my kids. When I looked at the cases, I realized they were completely full. We're talking probably around 300 or more pastries - not exaggerating. Nearly each tray in all the cases were still half full or full. I asked the employee what they were going to do with it all (I'm so used to being at other bakeries where there's really only a handful of things by closing, so this was shocking). He said they just throw them away. What?! He rang up my items and I asked if they use the app Too Good to Go and he told me he didn't know what that was, so I explained it. I asked if they donated to homeless organizations or food pantries. He said he wasnt sure, it depended what the owner wanted that day. I paid for my items and we stood outside and finished talking for a while after they closed. We watched 2 of the 3 employees load up some boxes with pastries, so we assumed maybe they did donate things for the next day. Nope. We think it was the employees taking what they would eat. Then they proceed to dump and fill THREE full 50 gal trash bags to the brim with all the pastries. I wanted to take a picture to put with the review, but didn't want the employees to think I was taking pictures of them doing something wrong. It was more that we were all just so IN SHOCK of such a crazy amount of waste! I can understand if some things needed to stay cool bc of cream filling or fresh fruit... but mochi donuts and danishes and croissants and rolls? We stood there with our mouths hanging open and in total shock. One of the women and her family feeds the homeless with food from their own generosity on Saturday mornings, as well as serving free food to families at sports games in the community and we were just thinking of all the people who would have totally appreciated even day old baked goods. We were so curious as to why PB doesn't even do some sort of discount like other bakeries where you can come in like 30 minutes before closing and get items half off. Our favorite bagel place sells bagels for $1 one hour before closing- genius! But the biggest thing of all is why was so much prepped in the first place? I am not exaggerating that there had to be 300-400 pastries that got dumped. Is there any way to connect with a non-profit to help reduce food waste and serve the community?! read more

The pastries are decent...some better than others, and I dislike the self-serve aspect and would rather order at a counter. If you've never been, you walk in and go get a tray (hidden in the corner with no signage telling you to go find it). Put wax paper on your tray and grab some tongs. Then you walk around and select your pastries for your tray and carry them up to the register. There, they will put them in a bag or box for you and you can order other items that are behind the counter or need to be prepared. As for the pastries, some are good, some are a disappointment. Not everything tasted fresh, on my second visit I skipped the donuts and stuck to the croissants and cronuts, those were better. I was disappointed that the Cronut I got on my second visit was filled, despite being labeled as a plain Cronut. Perhaps another customer moved the sign or put it back in the wrong place, not sure. I'm really not a fan of the self serve model they have. Skip the tiramisu tart, but the tiramisu cake was decent. One big disappointment was the online ordering isn't available. Not sure if it just isn't available YET, but that would have made my selection a lot easier. At the counter, I asked for a baguette and the man with a heavy accent misunderstood me twice (saying "yes I will bag it for you") so I gave up and decided I'd just get one on a future visit. Overall I think I'll only return for croissants and cronuts. Not sure about the rest of the place.
