Stopped in on the way home from working out. Picked up 2 Egg/sausage/cheese Kolaches, and a Ham and Cheese Kolache. Over all they tasted very good, nice and warmer coming out of the warmer. The Ham and Cheese was good but the Kolcahe was very doughy at the end of the sandwich. My first time trying them so will see how it goes the next time. My wife and I both liked the Sausage/egg/cheese kolaches again at the end very doughy. Place was very clean and the server was very professional and wished me a Blessed Day after I paid. So wonderful to hear that. Will try the donuts the next time in and try to get there earlier for a better selection of donuts. read more

Shipley Donuts 01-28-25 Stopped in and got donuts and kolaches for the family. It was around 11 am so I knew the selection was going to be slim. For the most part they had what I wanted. I was a little disappointed in the freshness of the donuts, but it was that time of the day. They were good but not melt in your mouth. The service was good. They had two employees working and they were very busy. They got the orders filled and i was on my way without a long wait. The creamed filled eclairs are my favorite, and they were really good as was the twist and chocolate dipped donuts. The shop was clean and inviting. I just need to get up early for the fantastic Donuts! Still my favorite place to get Donuts and Kolaches. Great Food and Service. I will definitely be back. read more

so rude . I ordered at 12:34pm and they said ready at 1pm. Before they closed at 2pm. I thought they would saved my donuts boxes when I pick it up. I drive thru around at 1pm ( paper on the window ) it said sorry the donuts gone everything ) I asked the lady " I'm deaf im ordered so can I get refund?" On a recent trip to Texas, my sweet sister picked up treats for all of her guests from Shipley. She says they are her favorite donut bakery in the area, and frequents them weekly. She utilized the drive thru, and though concerned there might be a long wait with several vehicles in front; it ended up only taking five minutes or so. And we got 2 dozen plus kolaches (livin' the dream)! She says the line often wraps around the building, but it sounds like that should not deter you, as service is speedy quick. They boxed the donuts real tight, and put together a good assortment of varieties. I tried nearly everything, and my surprising favorite was strawberry iced, with its lovely true berry flavor. Other standouts include chocolate iced cake, chocolate glazed with cream filling and, well, anything chocolate! They have other sweets like fritters, bear claws, and cinnamon rolls, none of which we tried, but they sure look good! All the standard donuts are pillowy soft, and the ingredients listed on the box are real, no icky preservatives and funky stuff. We tried a few of the kolaches as well. While their sausage is of the hot doggy variety, it tasted good, and the bread is yeasty, buttery, flavorful, and not too thick. Jalapeño cheese was my favorite. We had a good-sized group of sugar loving people, but I am still impressed we destroyed that box in a day. I would love to have them again! read more

Went to get donuts which they are the best donuts in town but the location on 31st has very poor customer service I got in drive through line sign said if ordering more then 4 dozen to call in order got to window ordered two and a half dozen then was told by employee that that would do it this time but next time to call in order first if it's more than 2 dozen I mean really you only really serve donuts and it not like they are made to order at the time you place the order and they still got my order wrong they need new management and employees two young people at the window was more worried about playing around with each other then my order I would not waste my money on this location again I'll go all the way to south side unless the owner owns both then I guess I'll find a new place with better service read more

Last time everything was great on visit exert a minor goof up where their employee forgot a kolache. Went back this morning and let the employee know the situation that we were owed missing kolache and paid for my usual order.  Female employee at window made a very subtle annoyed face as if I was lying about missing portion of order. Secondly, to my disgusted surprise one kolache had a hair sticking out of burnt cheese on one end. Furthermore, the order was entirely wrong. Not a single jalapeno to be found. Employee didn't give me a receipt when specifically asked me if i wanted one. I don't want any freebies or refund etc. Just want Shipley's to know as a business it's affecting your bottom line. This Shipley's is conveniently located near Temple High School as well as just a short detour from I-35. The donuts are tasty and they always have a great variety of fun decorated donuts and jelly-filled donuts. The sausage and cheese kolaches are a little disappointing for the almost $2 each price tag. Their sausage and cheese kolaches turn out small, with the bread surrounding the sausage, flat and lacking taste. The workers are always smiling and very quick to serve. If you are looking for a wide selection of donuts, stop here. If you want a good sausage and cheese kolache worthy of an almost $2 price tag, choose a different Shipley's (like the Belton location). read more

We normally shop here but noticed it is closed so Sunday morning we went to the Shipley's on W Adams. We always buy donuts and 1/2 doz sausage and 1/2 doz ham/cheese kolaches, well that's what we ordered then we got home and instead of using sausage they use wieners. Ew. Ew. Ew. Stopped in on our way to Austin. First of all don't try to go here during the weekday. It's terrible with the local school traffic and they're swamped with students. You would think being so busy the donuts would be fresh. But there is NO way these donuts were freshly made. They were so dry and tiny shriveled up little things. The chocolate covered barely had any icing on it. She did throw in a free one but now I see it's probably to make up for the quality. read more

The staff are fine and service is fine at this location. I just don't like shipley donuts in general because the messy way they apply the icing and the way it's made. Lumps of sugar and globs of mess all over the Donuts isn't my idea of perfection. Krispy kreme needs to open a shop in Temple and show shipley how to make a proper donut. When I lived in Hawaii they didn't have Krispy Kreme on O'ahu we had to bring them back from our deployments when we would fly to Cali. That's how much we loved Krispy kreme. We flew them back on the Herc across the pacific ocean so we could have a proper donut. We'd bring at least 30 boxes per crew member to share with the Airstation and family. I wouldn't have given shipley that kind of attention because the shipley donut just isn't that good,contrary to the accolades these local yocals bestow upon shipleys. read more
