So tired of my shipt shopper texting to say, "the store is out of ...." EVERY SINGLE ORDER IS LIKE THAT.

They had happy hour all day. Happy hour included wine, sake and appetizers. I thought it was such a great deal. We all loved our creamy miso soup. I would go back just for that. When it came to a table, we all looked at it and were iffy about it, but as soon as we tasted it, we all agreed that it is the best we have had. I will admit I don't remember all of names of the dishes, but the ones I remembered we got were the Hotline crispy gyoza, Pepper fin Miso vongole pasta and Kaisendon. We shared a key lime pie. The Keylime pie slices are little small, but after all our food, we were all full . We did all agree that the Keylime pie was missing the tartness we expect from Key lime. We were celebrating my birthday and they gave me a free glass of champagne. I wasn't expecting that, but it was a nice touch. They do have a record player with records available for you to choose from that they can play for you. The restaurant is located below Silos next to Orangetheory. If you don't know where it is at, it will take you a while to find it. It doesn't have a good sign. Parking is available, but shared with the other businesses. We had no issue finding parking

Yozora might be one of the most intimate and thoughtfully curated dining experiences in San…read moreAntonio. The entire space feels cozy with indoor & outdoor seating. The listening bar concept paired with their state-of-the-art custom sound system makes the atmosphere feel immersive from the second you walk in. The music, lighting, and outstanding service all work together perfectly when you're trying to unwind and decompress after a long week. The lychee martini was smooth, refreshing, and extremely lychee forward. I really enjoyed how they garnished the drink with two whole lychees. I was in heaven and I can honestly say this was one of my favorite cocktails I've had in the city (Thanks for the recommendation Annabelle). Food-wise, everything felt elevated and pieced together beautifully on each plate. The truffle creamy miso soup was warm & comforting with just the right amount of depth and the Asian pear cucumber salad was perfect to cleanse the palate after the soup. The Hawaiian ono was another standout that absolutely delivered. That cilantro oil and the yuzu dance together well with the soft & silky ono. I also really enjoyed the scallop crudo, it also has cilantro oil but this time with ponzu foam. This combination was so good that I absolutely had no shame sipping the married liquid components on the plate between each bite of scallop. Lastly, the wagyu mochi gnocchi is unreal--rich, melt in your mouth mochi gnocchi, savory shrimp and tender wagyu, and this velvety sauce that's semi addicting. This surf-and-turf style dish with seafood and wagyu is where Yozora really flexes; every bite felt balanced, indulgent, and beautifully plated. (This particular evening the sauce on the mochi gnocchi was a touch spicier for me than the first time I visited but I enjoyed every last bite nonetheless). I went a little ham and didn't have room for dessert this time unfortunately. Next time Huge shoutout to my server Annabelle, who made the entire night seamless. My water never even got close to empty, her recommendations were spot on, and she somehow balanced taking care of the bar while still making her tables feel attended to. The rest of the staff even tag teamed service throughout the dining room which I always enjoy seeing. It says a lot about how well the staff and overall concept works together there. Symphony for the soul. Thank you again Annabelle and team for making the whole evening easy to enjoy and adding so much to the experience. Yozora absolutely lives up to the hype. Add it to your list of spots to keep coming back for.

First, the glassware is cleaned using a 3-dunk system where the final rinse is sanitizer rather than clean water (see images). I react to sanitizer residue on glasses, and, as an MD, I assure you that any exposure is detrimental to your GI microbiome. We politely asked whether the glasses could simply be rinsed and dried before serving but were told this would only be possible during slower periods. As a workaround, we began bringing our own glasses. Second, the bar staff assured us their pours were standard 16 oz pints. To avoid confusion, we marked our glasses at the 16 oz line. On a later visit, the owner's daughter (whose approach to customer service was unnecessarily confrontational) stormed over and informed us in a rude tone that their glasses were actually 14 oz "shakers," not pints. She then poured the beers well below 14 oz. After measuring the remaining volume at home, the pour was close to 10 oz. We own 14 oz beer glasses, and to receive true 14 oz, the glass would need to be filled to the rim, which obviously is not how beers are served. In practice, customers are receiving roughly 10 oz pours for $7 - excessive and misleading, especially when places like Yard House serve actual pints for $5.49 in properly dishwasher-cleaned glassware. Regarding the food, everything is supplied by Sysco, and nothing is made in-house. It is served on plastic or aluminum trays. Overall, the combination of lack of properly clean glassware -- which is the bare minimum an establishment charging premium prices should provide -- deceptive pour sizes, and the dismissive handling of legitimate customer concerns left us very disappointed. We won't be returning.

From the moment you approach the restaurant- Not even walk in- you are greeted by a professional and hospitable staff. In the front 2 young workers gave us sangria samples and helped take my photo. So smiley and kind. Then I checked into my table at the host stand. Our table was in a gorgeous lit room by the stairs. The inside was so breathtakingly beautiful and clean . The restrooms as well. Our server Omar quickly filled our drink cups with cold water and took our actual drink order. They have premium lemomades and also fountain drinks with free refills. When he returned he gave us great recommendations from their 8 dollar tapas menu on happy hour (M-F 3-6). We ordered 3: Tacos de Cochinita Pibil / Slow cooked pork marinated in achiote sauce . Calamares Fritos / Fried steak calamari w/ alioli sauce ... Albondigas / Five Spanish pork meatballs marinated in wine tomato sauce with bread .... The bread with the meatballs should be toasted and it was cold. The calamari were AMAZING. Not chewy at all. And tacos unique and flavorful. It took a while to decide but with Omar's guidance and a lot of research beforehand, I reccomend large parties order these to get the best tasting experience: Parrillada Española / Spanish grilled feast with morcilla, 4oz Spanish sirloin, chistorra, three fried jumbo shrimp, and poached potatoes with alioli Toro Paella / Toro's Classic recipe voted best in San Antonio! Jumbo shrimp, mussels, chicken, calamari, pork belly & spanish chorizo . The grilled platter came out first very fast and the meats were delectable. Love the sausage. Again... toast the bread but everything else was delicious. The paella didn't take long at all. It lived up to our expectations. Delicious and hot, enough to fill us up with whatever room was left. The nicest part was Omar brought us complimentary shots of some sort of strawberry cocktail with a chili rim. He was so thoughtful and brought my sister who was 12 a non alcoholic version. We cheered to a good time. It was so good!!! Then we asked for dessert recommendations. Omar suggested the Torrijas / Classic spanish dessert, bread soaked in sweet cream, fried & drizzled in honey .. so that's what we got. It was SO yummy like tres leches French toast. With their website you get a 30 dollar off first visit coupon using the inkind app. I signed up and it worked perfectly. After the discount all that food came out to $150. Insane for a party of 5. I tipped 30 and using that inkind app got 30 dollars cash back to use anywhere on the app. But ill use it here. Come to TORO for a great time. Linger. Talk. Enjoy unique flavors. Felt like going to Spain.
