"On the expressway to your heart That expressway, not the…read morebest way At five o'clock It's much too crowded" (The Soul Survivors) Located right off the Long Island Expressway, and a few zig zags through industrial and retail parking lots, you'll find the Residence Inn Marriott. Check-in went smoothly and we had a very nice suite-like room with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, sink area, and bathroom. The bed was comfy, the HVAC controls worked fine, and the TV and WIFI were excellent. The shower temperature and pressure were perfect. However, there were some Annoying, Disappointing, and Absurd observations that impacted this three-star rating. What was Annoying? The bathroom fan and shower were guilty of annoyance in the first degree. When you turned on the light switch, the ceiling fan would slowly fire up and soon hit such a loud volume that I thought someone in the room next door was taking a shower. And then when we were taking our showers, there was a bizarre beeping noise that came from deep within the bowels of the plumbing system. Seriously, I thought it was an alarm or a phone beeping. What was Disappointing? Simply put, breakfast was disappointing. They had had the usual breakfast offerings -cereal, muffins, yogurt, fruit, and a waffle maker. But there were only two hot trays -scrambled eggs and sausage patties. The lack of hot choices when compared to comparable hotel breakfasts was disappointing. Oh, and the tray of bananas was empty for quite a while, and we gave up waiting for it to be replenished. What was Absurd? This hotel is in an open suburban space next to a shopping center and a movie theater. I looked out the window of my room and must have seen 75 available parking spots in the hotel lot. So, all that makes it particularly galling and absurd that the Marriott charges a $12/night parking fee. What's also annoying is that the fee is kind of hidden, and the cost was never directly vocalized when we checked in- just a "we'll take a credit card imprint for incidentals".

They are dog friendly which is a plus for those traveling with their furries. My room was very comfortable, clean and sleep quality was good. I never did the breakfast, but big respect for the great morning coffee! I did find that they do not keep the common areas very tidy. Might be a staffing issue, but there was trash in several areas including the stairwells and my last day I could clearly tell nobody had vacuumed the stairwell the entire time I was there. I did have housekeeping the third day of my stay/after my second night but it was not thorough- they just made the bed, left fresh towels, emptied the trash and ran my coffee cups through the dishwasher. Totally fine but No vacuuming ( there was stuff on the floor from my shoes the day before), did not leave any coffee in room and had clearly not wiped the bathroom vanity area down. I am not very messy so it was a non issue. Some of the people that stay here may be a little strange (maybe that is everywhere) as on my third morning, I opened my door and there was a balled up dirty sheet that someone had clearly intentionally left right there! Very bizarre. Between the good and strange I would stay here again, I really liked the staff and my room was very comfortable!

This hotel is a scam of epidemic proportions. People will pay for mediocrity, so why try aanything else.

Some facts about Botel: 1. It is constructed completely out…read moreof cinderblocks. That includes the inside of your room, which might remind you of your dorm room in college, but with less personality or comfort. 2. Even though the Botel is a couple years old, it looks and functions like a 60s-era motel, with attendant rust stains. 3. They aren't big on privacy at the Botel. Like most Fire Island hotels, the bathroom is shared, which is expected. But your room may or may not have a lock with a key. If it does have a key, you might find your door opened anyway by another befuddled guest who was given the same key to the same room. In fact, the door to your room might not even close all the way. And if it does, someone might wander in and then try to suavely pretend that is normal and, "Nope, don't need anything, bye." 4. Your manager will claim this is not a big deal, because everyone is cool here. Residents of the island claim that stuff gets stolen from the Botel all the time. Who to believe? Nothing was taken from our room, but maybe that's because we left all of our valuables at a friend's house. 5. The beds are pretty comfortable and big. 6. The club gets quiet at 10, so thumping house won't be a problem. I'm not giving this place a one star, because I'm sure many people arrive and all they want is a place to pass out after partying until 6 am, and don't mind strangers wandering in and out. No hate on that, do your thing, but if you're wondering why this place is $100 cheaper than everything else, that's why. If you're looking to save a buck but want comfort/privacy, try AirBnB and Craigslist.

My experience has been much better than the critical reviews posted. My reason for staying here was because it's close proximity between the Lab and ISIP airport. Additionally, I'm a Marriott BonVoy member and stay exclusively at Marriott properties to earn points. Parking is easy, the hotel is clean, associates were friendly, I received a welcome gift with water and snacks, my room was ready and clean. I slept great during my stay here. The continental breakfast was good (oatmeal and French toast, yum!). My only complaint is not really the hotel but the area of Bellport. There are hardly any restaurants in this town because of the industrial area.

Last year at the same time, 5 nights was $495.95, this year 5 nights was $1,763.25! That is an increase of 256%!!!! For that price, our rooms should be cleaned daily. Here are my issues: - For 5 nights, our rooms were "freshened" once. My trash was not emptied at all. My daughter's trash was emptied and the cans were thrown on the ground. (see pix) - Housekeeping did not refresh our drinking cups. They did not give my daughter any washcloths and I did not get a bathmat. - The breakfast was substandard. The oatmeal was very watery and the Bacon, Cheddar, and spinach frittata was mostly powdered egg with a thin layer of the advertised ingredients on top. I could not taste the spinach or bacon. I had one faint taste of cheddar. (see pix) - The breakfast trash was overflowing and food offerings were not replenished at a timely manner. Guests had to ask the staff for the food that was empty. - There was mildew in both of the showers and on the shower heads. (see pix) - Online advertisements show a pool. There is no pool. (see pix) - The dryers are so high, I had to use the folding table to get all my clothes out of the table. - I would be watching (with poor video quality) and it would suddenly revert to the Marriott channel. Very annoying. - In both of our rooms, we could hear people walking above us and doors slamming. It woke us up. Definitely not worth the increase. Substandard. Marriott is price gouging.

4.5/5: My girlfriend & I went here for my birthday week…read more Exterior: We loved the look of the hotel from the outside and parking was easy. During the day it was beautiful and at night the trees were all lit up which felt magical. We liked the area where people get married as well. Inside front desk area: Gorgeous and perfect for pictures we absolutely loved the way it was decorated and the sheer size of the main room. There is plenty of seating. We received our room key right away and the key return was simple too. The Room: The large size of the room, the feel of the bed, the furniture, the draw space, the small but empty fridge kept our drinks cold, and the lighting was nice. Our room was conveniently placed on the first floor near the front desk and near our car. BATHROOM: It was large, had an extra towel, and nice bathroom products. The shower was good and fit 2 comfortably and it had a large bath but the stopper was not working so we did not try it again as it made more sense to try the pool to relax. (We are young but I think older people may have trouble getting in and out). POOL: The pool was INDOOR and well lit, warm, and we had no other guests there the 2 times we went. They had plenty of towels, places to sit/relax, and a bathroom at the pool too. (Note: No food or drink is allowed in the pool). STAFF: The hotel staff and front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. They gave us an extra tissue box on request. They made it easy to book an extra night too. Restaurant on premise: We saw they had a restaurant and went only for drinks at the end of the night. It is not open that late so check the hours. Next time we come we will try the food. Shops: In walking distance is a small shopping center with a wine store, cheese store, candy store, a carousel, a restaurant, a pizza shop, and several others that were lit up at night and pleasant to walk through. It had decorations for Christmas. It was a bit cold, so I can see spring/summer being a better time to visit. They do not have everything and are geared to weddings so you may still want to venture out. (Also it felt odd they did not have a hairstylist/makeup artist shop, or photographer studio as one of the shops since there are so many weddings here). Keep in mind these are separate establishments. Protip: check the hours for the carousel before going. Negatives: -0.5 There is NO microwave in the room, only 1 shared microwave at the front desk where they serve complimentary coffee/tea and sell affordable snacks/perishables. (This was still much better than expensive minibar/minifridges in the room like in other hotels). We never had to wait for the microwave but reheating and carrying it back to the room and opening the heavy door was a little rough sometimes. I could see this being tedious to older guests. SMART TV: It is a nice size smart tv but you have to sign into your apps on the tv and actively remember to sign out or the next guest will have access to your netflix, hulu, etc. (several guests forgot to do so) The hbomax app was not immediately available and required a download code from the hotel and I did not want to do all of that at 1am so we skipped it and watched something else. Hoping the hotel staff will download ALL the possible apps ahead of time so guests do not have this issue in the future. Weddings/events: This felt like a perfect spot that was affordable and luxurious in terms of hotel. I did not attend an event here but saw they finished an event with many people the night we arrived and were prepping for a wedding the day we were leaving. Everyone seemed happy. Spa: The spa seems like a fun feature but the price is too much for us (it is even more than the hotel night stay) but it might be worth splurging if it was a honeymoon. Gym: The gym near the pool was not accessible. There was a separately owner gym/fitness center that charged a small fee. (We did not go and enjoyed swimming as exercise instead). 4.5/5: Of all the hotels we visited in 2025, this was the BEST experience and affordable. It was worth our 1.5 hr drive making the NY staycation (my birthday week) a real vacation. We hope to go once a year every year and will even considered it for our future wedding if they have affordable pricing and maintain the quality.

We had our reception in the Veranda Room, which was absolutely stunning -- our guests couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous it was. We worked with Nicole, who was such a sweetheart and incredibly attentive from the very beginning. On the day of the wedding, we had a few hiccups (nothing related to the venue or staff), but our bridal attendant, Lex, was PHENOMENAL! Truly, she deserves a raise -- she went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and that I was taken care of. I couldn't have made it through the day without her! The service was classy, the food was delicious, and everything ran so seamlessly. The only thing that surprised me was that, for the cost of the rooms, I would have expected some additional amenities -- like bottled water in the rooms -- but that's such a small detail compared to how wonderful everything else was. Overall, I highly recommend East Wind Long Island for your wedding or any special event. It was a dream come true!

The rooms are modern, clean and well kept but they are very sparsely furnished. The rooms are spacious but not many places to relax and sit comfortably. There is more than enough room for a small table with at least two club chairs, a bench in front of the bed, maybe even a loveseat but instead it's just big open flooring with a king size bed and one chair- not really anywhere for more than one person to sit comfortably. There is a fridge which is always nice to have and the staff was pleasant and attentive. A free breakfast was included, they served egg sandwiches, yogurt, fruit and pastries but still not worth a price tag of almost $475+ a night. The website also makes it seem like the restaurant is open and available to guests but is was completely shut down, which was very disappointing. Again the staff was nice and attentive, the rooms were clean but considering how much we paid and how underwhelming the stay was I think 3 stars is actually a generous review.
