Told by a lovely barkeep that all they had were their late night menu - wings, cheese curds and fries. They had lost their cook, and hence no more fish tacos, chicken parm sandwich, etc. I ordered all 3 items, half wings with garlic parm and half boom boom, cheese curds and jazzed fries. Food came out very quickly and with a smile. The one star is for the friendly barkeep/cook. Food, very meh. Enough said. Perhaps inform the unsuspecting hungry customer that your menu isn't available- on Yelp or on your website. I mean, it's a bar after all, I suppose, and not a restaurant. And this'll teach me to read the dates on all those food reviews on Yelp! (It looked like a great place to hang and shoot some pool and listen to decent music. Just don't expect 90% of the food menu to be available.)

While there are no dedicated tofu-based dishes, some items can be made vegetarian. The Lo Mein and Fried Rice we tried were both good, albeit lacking in spice. There is a small store is attached to the restaurant. They have a modest selection of candy and other essentials to choose from. Anyway, based on the food, will we return? Probably if they added some tofu dishes. Otherwise, we will try some of the other Asian places in Hays...

Recommend ordering ahead and picking up if you don't like waiting in the drive-thru. Glad they came back after being shutdown for a while last summer. Although the taste was alright, their sweet & sour chicken is all breading, I had to toss that out. My bf's mom took me to Chinese Food Express for lunch today & not only was the service very friendly, their food is really very good! We got almond chicken & sweet&sour chicken. Those were so good I had to come back to get to go food for tonight's dinner! The sweet & sour chicken has REAL chunks of chicken & the breading is very crispy, it's even better than the ones they serve in Chinatown or San Gabriel area in SoCal!!!

The Golden Q is a Hays staple and I swear by it…read more I hadn't been back to town in years so when I made my return I had to stop in for a Q Burger. Color me shocked. Gone was the old cigarette smoke-filled and alcohol-fueled hazy look of the Golden Q of yesteryear and in its place is a semi-recently remodeled and expanded Golden Q... one that is now CLEAN, smoke free and includes a couple of back rooms, tons of tvs and a back patio. You can still drink your choice of alcohol (it's encouraged,) you can still play pool if you want and most importantly, you can still enjoy a Q Burger (or your burger of choice,) but you don't have to feel bad about bringing some underage members of the family during the afternoon to watch the game of your choice. I love the new open look and man, I still love those Q Burgers. I can't wait to come back.
