I had to edit this review because my picture of my breakfast was not posted. Very disappointed with Shirley's. If anyone has followed my reviews, I try to eat at local restaurants and give fair and honest reviews. We drove from Pittsburgh to Buffalo and decided to stop at Shirley's for breakfast. The restaurant was busy we had to wait about five minutes for a table. The restaurant just serves breakfast and brunch and had a typical diner interior. We sat down and got our drinks right away. The coffee was hot. The waitress Michele came over and took our order. my wife's order was fine. She ordered the omelette and Texas toast came out perfect. My order was a different story. I ordered the number 4, 2 eggs over easy hashbrowns breakfast sausage, patty, and Italian toast with no butter. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the waitress brought me my plate with the toast very barely toasted and the hashbrowns should've been called hash whites because they were not cooked and they were cold. Take a look at the picture. No waitress should be bringing this to a patron. Look at this picture and make your own decision. Zoom in to the top of the plate, what is that? I did ask to have my toast darker but I did not want to send my whole plate back because my wife was already eating her breakfast. When I was paying my bill, I was asked how was everything and I explained that my breakfast was cold. The manager or owner came over asked a few questions and apologized. I said it's not your fault and I'm not looking to have anything comped. I just made the statement that I came in for a hot breakfast and I got a cold one. There are a lot of restaurants in Erie and unfortunately, I picked the wrong one for breakfast. read more

Did someone say diner? Stopped here for lunch when traveling to the area and I was not disappointed. The place was pretty full with a lot of regulars. Great breakfast items and lunch. I ordered the Shirley burger, which had egg and hashbrowns on it. Very very tasty typical diner atmosphere. They even have a small bar to sit at if you wish. I would definitely come back. read more

Our breakfast took almost one hour to come out! My husband ordered hash brown well done with onions. They were not anywhere near well done and no onions. Disappointing the food was not hot after waiting so long for it. The potato pancakes we also disappointing. They looked like they were deep fried. We have not stopped talking about this cute little restaurant since we visited! We were in the area in search of a diner and I searched yelp of course ..I feel so lucky to have found such an awesome place. First off the menu is small & limited but it works! All the basics are covered and you know you're getting .. which is fresh cooked food!! I had a patty melt and it was the best patty melt that I have ever had. My boyfriend had a cheeseburger. Often his burgers are never cooked right and it's always an issue anytime we go to a restaurant but at Shirley's it was different.. it was perfect ..exactly how he ordered it. The restaurant is small but very quaint filled with friendly staff members and nice locals. On the wall there are photos of famous "Shirley's" i.e. Shirley Feeney (Laverne & Shirley) And of course Shirley MacLaine and many others. Stopped by here for breakfast and will definitely be coming back! Excellent food, excellent service, and a safe/ sanitary, warm, inviting atmosphere. They take COVID seriously and ensure their patrons and staff are safe by sanitizing every surface between customers and their staff *properly* wearing face masks. I got the egg sausage sandwich, giant cinnamon roll, and my boyfriend got the farmers breakfast and I totally forgot to take photos I wanted to eat it so badly! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals there wasn't anything left! I also loved their hash browns and how they weren't slimey at all (personal pet peeve of mine). Can't wait to return! read more

We stayed next door at the Days Inn by Wyndham and this was really the only place nearby to get breakfast. The place is small. Counter seats maybe 6, and there are tables that seat maybe 20 people tops. The menu is good for breakfast. Lots to choose from and great portions. Food was good. The only downside - service. There were 2 girls working the whole room. We literally waited close to one hour for food. We were meeting friends and thought we would have plenty of time. After 30 minutes we asked to cancel our order as we had to go. We were told that they were already making our order. 20 minutes later we still did not have our food. Finally got it in about another 10 minutes but had to get it to go. read more

Our regular breakfast stop is closed on Monday. Checked Yelp and decided on Shirley's. Great decision too. Clean and well laid out. Staff is tops. My other half had a simple eggs and bacon plate. Well prepared with uber crispy bacon. I got froggy and tried the Shirley special. A fried egg on a beef patty on hash browns with a side of fries. I'm impressed. Now I'm in a quandary as to which of my fave's to breakfast at when making our semi annual trip from Illinois to Massachusetts. read more

This is the quintessential breakfast place that I'm drawn to when I'm on the road. This one has a handful of seasoned waitresses doting on you as you consider the way you want your eggs and potatoes. First impressions are- Everything. When my wife and I walked in, mentioned we were there for the first time the waitress was very rude and told us that we "missed the "stop sign"" and to go wait in the hallway.
