Mike from Gemini DJ posses neither of these qualities. His level of unprofessionalism is something I never have experienced before. We had multiple meetings with Mike over a span of 10 months, and explained in detail our family likes to dance, play xyz, and yet wound up with a party where GUESTS ACTUALLY LEFT EARLY bc his music was boring and no one could dance. He told multiple guests, in a rather rude tone, "don't take song requests from people who aren't paying me". We paid to have the percussionist there because i've seen at other weddings they walk the dance floor and interact with the guest, this is not an experience you will get with gemini. the percussionist sat stationary in a corner, if i had wanted a stationary band i would of hired a band instead of a DJ. Gemini approached us prior to the wedding starting requesting the timeline be adjusted for the evening so that cake, bouquet and garter were all done at the same time, we did not want our party stopped for cake, but at the beginning of the party agreed bc it didn't seem like it would be much of a interruption. it became clear why they wanted to make this change, so they could get an extended break in the middle of the wedding to sit in the corner on their phones. i think out of the 4 hours of reception that music was played, they played dance music for about 45 minutes. and that was after we had to tell them multiple times. He shows up with a large team that's completely unnecessary, he - the MC- didn't speak more than 20 words the entire night, they have 1 person who does lights aka sits in the corner on his phone all night, and another person who also sits on their phone all night(still have no idea what his purpose was) . my advice for anyone stuck in a contract with this DJ would be 1) don't work with the owner of the company Mike and 2) provide them a detailed timed out list of every single song they needs to play, they cannot pick music. and don't allow them to bring additional people that aren't necessary. You must provide them with the timeline and allow for no exceptions because they will adjust cake / bouquet toss to maximize their break time.

He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party! His announcements were clear, even the difficult names were pronounced perfectly, and every music cue during our cocktail hour, ceremony, cake cutting, and reception was perfectly timed. Ben provided us with very easy-to-follow instructions to help him shape our night. His communication with us was crystal clear; we knew exactly what he needed, and we trusted him to carry it out. We met with him a few times over Zoom in the year leading up to the wedding, and he worked directly with our wedding planner, who recommended him, nailing every detail and request made along the way.
