After a terrible experience at LA Uniform and Tailoring -- where we were hovered over, treated rudely, and shown low-quality gear that wouldn't meet even the most basic EMT safety standards -- we found ourselves at Shoeteria on Artesia and Hawthorne. The employees didn't crowd us or make us feel watched -- instead, they gave us space to browse but were quick to help the moment we had a question or needed assistance. It was a calm, comfortable shopping experience from start to finish. What truly stood out was the exceptional quality of the gear. My son found everything he needed for his EMT program -- and most importantly, he found real safety footwear. Shoeteria carries an impressive selection of steel toe and polycarbonate-toe boots, all of which are puncture resistant -- exactly the type of protection EMT students need for their training and future work in the field. Brands like Dr. Martens, Timberland, Reebok, New Balance, Puma, Burnt, Thorogood, Wolverines, and Skechers lined the shelves -- all built for durability and safety. You simply cannot say the same about LA Uniform and Tailoring. Their shoes had no visible safety features, no steel or composite protection, and felt cheap and flimsy in comparison. It's shocking that a school would allow students to be directed to a store that sells such substandard gear. On top of everything, my son also picked up a high-quality belt, and we still spent less money at Shoeteria than what the other store was charging for basic, low-grade items. My son left feeling confident, properly equipped, and actually excited about his gear -- something every student deserves. I sincerely hope El Camino College reevaluates their current contract and seriously considers Shoeteria for their students' needs. I bought a pair of shoes a few weeks ago (Reebok brand). I breaked it inside the home to make it comfortable. I did not wear it outside the home. My feet was hurting from the shoes. So, I tried to return it. However, "Jose" said he will order another brand and exchange it for me. So, a few days later, he called me and said he has the shoes. Had some issues with a new set of Doc Martins and they were able to find me the correct size for me with no hassle and also offered me the best insoles for my work boots. I visited this Shoeteria store recently and had a very bad experience. I was trying to find a pair of work boots and the lady working that day was very rude. She had an attitude and was not very helpful. I did not get a name but she had red hair and had tattoos. I asked for 2 sizes on a pair of shoes and she said she only had one pair. And I ended up getting the bigger size anyways. Next thing you know, my friend goes back to the store the next day and lo and behold they had the size I was looking for. I felt that she was just too lazy to look for the other size and just gave me the other one. She just had this b****** attitude about her. It made for a very unpleasant experience at this Shoeteria. I hope management reads this and does something to change this customer service. I surely will bring my service elsewhere next time I look for shoes. read more

LITTLE TO NONE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Everyone has those moments where we go "man, I made the poorest decision doing [insert any event where you feel regret]", unfortunately, I made one of those decisions on 9/4/11. Let me give you the break down: 1. the shoe selection is microscopic, granted it is a small facility. 2. shoes are overpriced -- and $12 for 6 pair of socks?!? 3. as mentioned above, no customer service at all... how would you feel when your teller was on the phone while finalizing your transaction? So I bought these pair of shoes, and I realize if I could wait a couple of days, I could have gotten better and cheaper pairs of kicks. So I decided to go back to the store to return them. To my surprise I was brushed off by an employee because their unwillingness to help, who had no idea to the meaning of customer service, had every excuse for every question I had. "The manager is not in" How can you not have a supervisor or manager on site during business hours? And to display the store policy under a muggy glass counter top, where consumers have to place above (because there is no other available space to place your product) how can a customer be aware of the store policy? So I place the shoes I didn't want above the store policy and said, look how it covers the policy because you can not place it anywhere else. The employee brushes off a clutter of things off the surface and slides the shoes over, "now you can see the store policy." I was dumbfounded, absolutely amazed how one person can be so incompetent, and two how I received no apology. I was told to come back when the manager would be on site. So I went with high expectations because managers are usually more level headed, boy I was wrong. Same excuses, as if I was listening to a repeating broken record. She claim to have verbalized the store policy, WHILE ON THE PHONE, how is that possible? To save you all the trouble, follow these steps to avoid frustration: 1. Just left the store for the second time without being able to return the boots my husband bought. They wouldn't let me return the shoes for a credit back to the credit card which was used to purchase the shoes. Since my husband had purchased them he needed to be there to return them. I went here on a Friday and found just the boot I wanted. They even had it in Extra Wide! Taylor helped me and she was very friendly, and mentioned they had a great sale going so I decided to get a second pair. She had pointed out the boots were a great price so all was good. She and another girl went to ring it up and it turns out it had been mis-marked, but they agreed to sell them at that price since that's the law. They couldn't do it without the manager so I had to come back the next day (No store should have to wait for this). I showed up the next day and the red-haired young lady made me show a photo of the price. I had fortunately taken one and she was very pissed. She made it known that I was getting everyone in the store in trouble. HOW RUDE!!! So unprofessional. She angrily rang it up and repeated that everyone in the store would get in trouble. WOW!!! Please save yourself the time and money and never go here! So I placed an order online for a birthday present and received it in time. Everything was great until my boyfriend wore the shoes once and the sole came out! You could actually see the cotton under the sole in the left shoe. So I went to this store to exchange the shoes, my boyfriend loved them and wanted the same pair. They were so rude, one lady was actually looking at her nails the entire time I was talking to her. They rudely told me they couldn't help me because if they ordered the shoes they could be broken again and they did not want to deal with it. They gave me a card to a customer service to call and have them help me. I contacted the online customer service and they said I cant have 15% back and keep the broken shoes or I could send the shoes back re-buy them and they would refund my money after they got the shoes. I didn't appreciate the way they took their time to get back to me and when they did it was abrasive and rude. They treated me like this was my fault and I was trying to get a free pair of shoes which was not the case at all! I just wanted shoes that were not broken, like you would expect from any store. I tried to reorder the shoes and they were out of stock. After complaining they said they are no longer giving me a refund, even after I told them I will have to pay to get them fixed.
