I was feeling like Shoneys buffet & since all of them closed for business in Charleston I decided to take a ride to manning. The food was good I caught brunch. The fried chicken was very well seasoned. The grits was creamy. The bacon was cooked just right. The white rice needed salt. My sprite had a string of hair in it the waitress quickly changed it out for me. I made a strawberry shortcake the cake was soft the strawberries was fresh. If you're looking to eat a good breakfast/ brunch buffet I suggest trying Shoneys.

The food was very yummy! I tried things I had never tried before! Collard greens ... etc. Service was so friendly and nice. I enjoyed it.

We love their breakfast buffet, it always offers a wide variety of food, including breakfast items, salad items and dessert as well.the even have an ice cream machine for the kid in us. But I love the strawberry shortcake.

Ok- I was in Manning to visit family and we ate here twice in the week. I haven't been to Shoney's in probably 10 years - they aren't on the West Coast. The first time was 8 pm on Monday. I ordered the fried chicken salad and it took almost 25 minutes. And they put watery succotash on it - I was ready to agree with 3 stars. But I was convinced to go back on Friday for an earlier dinner. So different! I ordered a Bloody Mary (when did Shoney's add a bar?) and it was so good! I also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was cooked perfectly! I'm not sure what some of the bad reviews were for - it's a Shoneys and they all l look the same and cater to families. When I come back to Manning I'll come back.

Shoney's of Manning is a Shoney's very much like all other Shoney's with nothing in particular setting it apart or distinguishing it. When I stop by a Shoney's it's either for their Country Fried Steak, as they do a pretty good job of it and I love the buttermilk biscuits that come with it, or their buffet. This time I had the buffet and true to the other Shoney's buffets this one had plenty of food choices. But one things Shoney's always seems to excel at, as did this Shoney's, is a salad bar with really fresh crispy tasting vegetables. As I like to try everything I had a taste of everything on their buffet, and there was plenty. Unfortunately since they didn't have everything labeled, I can't really report exactly what all I had as in the preparation. I can say that I had fried chicken which was rather good but I couldn't necessarily come up with the style. Was the fried chicken Cajun? Was it Country Fried? Was it butter milked or something else? I really wouldn't want to take a chance guessing at it. I had a baked fish but I'm clueless as to exactly what kind of fish. My guess is that it was a tilapia. They did a good job on what was a lasagna type of dish though it wasn't a true Italian in style and another with cabbage dish. What I can be certain about is that it was all rather good, more a belly filler than gourmet type of meal but at what I consider to be bargain prices.

One of the best eat-in restaurants in Manning. Buffet food is always hot and perfectly cooked. Breakfast or anytime, I highly recommend this place!

Driving South to Florida on 1/1/18, stopped in Manning and the good Mexican restaurant in town, Mariachis, was closed so went to Shoneys. I thought this was a unique place, but learned it is one of many in this chain. Place seemed clean. Service was good. Food was mediocre, just like a diner, not like a real restaurant. I had Salmon (see picture) which was OK, but nothing special. They have a salad bar and soup too before you enjoy your entrée and later you may want to go to the fruit bar for a sweet taste. One more thing, they serve alcohol - which may be helpful after 11 hours on I - 95.

The wings are absolutely phenomenal. They're perfectly cooked with a great variety of flavors to choose from. The pizza is outstanding with that delicious thin crust that hits the spot every time. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but those wings and pizzas are must-tries! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming with a great local vibe. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quality bar food and cold craft beer. They offer an impressive beer selection, featuring over 75 different domestic and craft options. The prices are very fair, and the service is always professional and attentive. Whether you're a local or just passing through Sumter, Main Street Tavern is definitely worth a visit. Although I have been to waffle House, which I'm sure I reviewed prior. I came in around supper time, 6:00 p.m. or so, and it was probably at 75% capacity. I sat at the bar, after being welcomed by a local fully equipped with his own Skynyrd beer koozie!! Hahaha! They have karaoke, and they karaoke DJ spinning all the good country hits, literally emulating exactly what I play at home. Anyhow, the local that pulled my chair out essentially, told me that the "bartender sucked" But in good ole down home local fashion, she clapped right back, and obviously he was joking cuz she is phenomenal. Despite having a completely full bar, and waiting tables, she acknowledged me almost immediately. Even sat down in the bar stool next to me to take my order and chit chat and go over the menu with me. I think her name was Alicia, but regardless she was outstanding! I ordered hot wings and lemon pepper wings. They came out really fast, really hot, and really good. I kind of wish I had room to order another entree, but it filled me up. As I waited for my food, I was suddenly engulfed by an entire group of locals. Now this place, is the mature crowd, and they were so nice they sort of took me under their wing! This is the epitome of down south hospitality. I've been holding out on coming to this place for a few years now, and looking back, I wish I would have came a lot sooner. I hate using the term "vibe", But this is totally my vibe. Great food, great service, great locals, laid back atmosphere with music playing and karaoke? You just can't beat it. I have responsibilities, so I had to leave really early, but rest assured, I will definitely be back. I mean who else is going to sing Jason Aldean on the karaoke machine? Thank you skynyrd's, thank you Alicia (I hope I remembered your name right), such a great experience and I'm sorry I had to cut it short! Tucked inside this boutique hotel, it's a welcoming space for date nights, business dinners, or whenever you want to impress someone with a little Southern charm and city-style polish. The food is good, with great appetizers that set the tone for the meal. The pasta dishes arrive hot and satisfying, and there's a full bar to pair your plate with a handcrafted cocktail or a glass of wine. The vibe? Chic yet comfortable--a nice break from the grab-and-go options around town. Their lunch specials used to be a real treat--tasty, creative, and affordable. Unfortunately, those have been paused again, which takes away a bit of the accessibility that once made it a go-to spot for locals on a lunch break. To be fair, while the meals are enjoyable and the space is lovely, the restaurant still seems to be finding its rhythm, especially when it comes to service times and consistent hours. That said, when it's open and operating smoothly, you're in for a good experience. All in all, it's a solid choice for a nice evening out in Lake City, with plenty of potential to become something even greater. We'll keep coming back--hoping each time they're a little closer to finding their groove.
