Where else can a non-FOID carrying Chicagoan walk in and for $8 choose any gun they want from the "buffet selection" just an hour outside the city?!?! Not anywhere else that I could find! My boyfriend and I had the BEST time visiting Bernie (the owner) and Sam (the instructor) on our first visit to Shooters. I had never (I mean NEVER) shot a gun before and this was a fun weekend day jaunt up to Racine from Chicago for some good ol Midwestern entertainment. Bernie personally gave us a full tour of the facility (gun shop, class rooms, entertainment space, rental counter, gun range, and and archery range) and the history of the shop. We were made to feel like family. Both Bernie and Sam provided helpful first-timer tips and their advice was so spot on that my first two shots were bull's eyes! The prices were extremely reasonable and the range had plenty of room for us first thing on a Saturday. Safety is a top priority here, and I felt like they took their responsibility for oversight seriously. Bernie is an ex-cop and very knowledgeable regarding firearm safety. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we can't wait to take a group of friends back with us! read more

I've been to all the local ranges and find this one the best to shoot at. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly - welcoming of anyone walking in - unlike some ranges that give you the feeling that you are not in their "clique". The facility is nice - new backstop and ventilation and I understand the target retrieval system is queued up for an upgrade. I stopped in here in Aug-2012 and had a fantastic time. The shop caters to recreational shooters (rifle, shotgun and handgun), hunters, bow & arrow enthusiasts and police for training. The store has a lot of product for sale and has a classroom for training classes and other events. The gun rental program here is great: for $8 you can choose any of more than 20 handguns of various caliber, and you can shoot as little or as much with one gun as you want. You pay for the shooting lane ($12-15/hr range), bullets (9mm start at ~$20/box of 50) and paper targets (Start at $0.30ea). I spent an hour here and sampled 5 different handguns... could have tried many more, but I took my time. The owner and manager are very knowledgeable and helpful, and safety is definitely a priority in the shop and on the range. I saw a few groups come in who had little firearm experience, and the crew made sure to take the time to go through basic safety and rules and even escorted them to the range to help start them off on the right foot. For bow enthusiasts, they have a great indoor range (only one group at a time) that is well lit. They also have a separate room with a digital hunting game: you bring your bow & arrows, use their tips & system, and you shoot at video images at the end of the range and score points based on hit location. I didn't get to try it out, but the guys behind the counter couldn't stop talking about it. read more

Went here yesterday with my girls for a girls day using my own gun for the first time. I've been shooting before but this time I brought my own gun. It was a lot of fun!! They were busy which was expected for a Saturday but when we got there we didn't have to wait long! We rented one lane but there was plenty of other individual lanes. They had an area for Bowen arrow shooting too which was cool! When we first got there we were taught on how to use my gun and the safety procedures on what to do when in use. Some of the girls I went with weren't familiar with shooting a gun, and I wasn't familiar with how to use my own gun and the gentlemen there was super friendly in helping us use my gun with loading, aiming it, and firing! When another lane got stuck they fixed it right away and when one of my girls were scared to shoot he came and taught her how to fire and was patient with her until she finally shot the gun! Loved this place!! Great prices for the ammunition and renting equipment! When returning our equipment the gentlemen's at the front counter were super friendly and nice and thanked us for coming! They took a group picture for us and really appreciated our business. Great place to go shooting for your first time, girls day, or to relieve some stress! read more

The staff here is outstanding! They have a nice selection of gear for firearms and bows. The gun selection is nice, not the largest, but certainly not the smallest either. The staff clearly know their way around firearms and I like to hear their perspective and advice on the various items they have there. As for the range this is very nice as well. They have a good selection of guns you can rent at extremely good prices. I like the little lounge area they have by the range as it seems like a nice place to sit and socialize with other like minded people. When renting their guns you do need to purchase the ammunition here, but that is somewhat common. As they are in Wisconsin, if your from Illinois, you don't need a FOID card to rent the guns and shoot at the range. The only down side here is due to a quirky law, as an out of state resident, you can't purchase a handgun here, which is too bad considering their prices and outstanding customer service. You can however purchase rifles here. We certainly will be checking here again! read more

First off, I would have no problem giving 4 or maybe even 5 stars except for my last visit. I had been to this range a few times and had overall positive experiences. I went over the weekend to test some models and was told I couldn't rent a gun unless I owned one or was shooting with someone else. I immediately drove to another range, rented a gun, and spent over an hour testing out different models as well as making a purchase. How is someone like myself supposed to properly test out guns before making a purchase if I always have to have a shooting buddy with me? Unfortunately for Shooters, another range got my range business from now on and also got the gun purchase I was looking to make. read more

This is one of the nicer ranges in the Milwaukee area. It's hopping on the weekends, but they're open late on week nights and it's a great time to hit the range. The firearm rental fees / ammo seems reasonably priced and they appear to have a nice selection to choose from. The memberships are a pretty good buy if you're serious about hitting the range on a regular basis. The first year membership pays for itself if you're at 2x1hr range visits per month on average. Three stars because of two things: 1.) Gun prices are "Gander" prices AKA full retail. In my experience, they're not interested in even trying to compete with Internet + FFL transfer prices. They were not interested in any negotiation on price with me. I'm not even talking absolute lowest price, they're nowhere near the real street price. 2.) One of the owners doesn't believe that unmarried couples that live together should be allowed "family memberships." Not sure how they treat married couples with different last names. Anyway, this may not apply to you, so it may be no big deal. I find it off putting. So yes, they are A-OK. Not amazing. But nice people and it's pretty good. If you're not looking to buy a gun from them and are either married or single, they may be a 5 star place to you. read more

The staff here is great--they take their time helping you pick out just the right fit. They have a great assortment of handguns and rifles. They have league shooting as well. Robbie was totally awesome and explained my two favorite picks differences both pro and con. They are eager to help you on the range too. A great place to learn and they have several different guns you can rent and try on the range. It is $8 and you can try any or all, you only pay for the amo. My recent visit was great! After purchasing a hand gun for defense I was looking for a place to practice. My concerns were safety within this environment from other possible shooters as well as being welcomed as a new comer. Shooters provided me peace of mind for these concerns. I purchased a lower receiver online and shooters refused to do a transfer. I was told that if they could order the same item, regardless of price difference, then they would not complete a transfer for me. The lady I spoke with on the phone was polite, however I am very disappointed that they refused to help me. I called 2 other gun shops in the area and they both had no issue with completing my transfer. I like the range at this business, however I will no longer be purchasing firearms from or through them. Only dislike I have about this range is how far it is away from me haha. Its hands down my favorite range to shoot at . Huge selection of guns to choose from for rentals. Staff is friendly and funny at times. Haven't really dealt with them as far as gun purchase goes. Over the the phone, they're professional as well. If it's one thing I hate about gun shops, is the ego maniac tough guy salesman. Don't have to worry about that at shooters. Range also has great lighting, and very clean!!! read more

I few years back, I had a shotgun re-blued there and it went missing for a year. The company they shipped it to was raided by ATF and all guns within were seized. I wasn't told the truth for 6 months. When I finally did get my gun back, it was a horrible blueing job and my original Browning shipping box was missing. My gun was returned to me in a sock. When I started to complain about it, I was literally kicked out and told to "Just be happy we got your GD gun back to you". An original 1971 Browning Auto5 box in pristine condition like mine was, sells on Ebay for $250. I have a theory as to where the box ended up. Horrible, dishonest business to deal with. read more

I've been going to this range for the past 4-5 years and I decided that today was the last time I'll ever go here. Every time I've come in, the staff seems annoyed by groups wanting to reserve a lane and act as if we are a chore for them. You'd think that as we walk in they'd see big green dollar signs, but apparently not. The range is nice, but when you have a guy coming in and tearing your targets down and re-stapling it to the board without saying a word to you, or even excusing himself, I find that very ridiculous. Treat your customers like you appreciate them and the money they're spending at your shop. I refused to even consider purchasing my conceal carry from these guys today because of their condescending, arrogant attitude towards not only myself, but many others I've noticed. Absolutely would not recommend if you're looking for a welcoming and supportive staff to help train and advise you on firearms. read more

Came in on a Sunday night browsing handguns for the wifey and me and got alot of helpful advice on what to try. The wifey is pretty new to shooting so she's scared of guns with high recoil and he gave us some good suggestions. We got to try 5 different guns on one lane shooting 1 box for $45. Ears and eyes included. Not bad. There's about 10 lanes, much bigger than the other ranges I've been to in Milwaukee. Prices on the guns I was looking at either match or was $50 cheaper than Gander mountain. read more

I been using this Range for about 2 years now and normally I go on a weekdays. But because of available time on my part I had to use on a Sunday. Apparently on the weekends they are more relaxed on how their range used. During the week people seemed to be more concerned about improving their skills. On the weekends it would seemed to be a blast away fest. Their were people surrounding me using short barrel shotguns and small high powered rifles. The pressure wave from these weapons made it impossible to continue my practicing making me cut my time short by 15 minutes. Don't risk going here on Sundays. read more

I stopped in this afternoon to shop for a gun to purchase for myself and to shoot for an hour. The guy who came over to help me was way more interested in speaking with a 16 year old child instead of me. He spent less than two minutes with me. Pretty much long enough to tell me the gun I had looked at elsewhere was garbage then just about listening to me halfway through what I was saying and time away from me. I have had decent experiences here beforw but am sad to say I will never return after how I was treated. read more

Nice clean gun range with a nice waiting area. A lot rental guns to choose from. Fairly priced on most items. Very nice shooting gallery. The down side very rude staff! One if the employees made my wife very uncomfortable. And also made her feel stupid. She asked a question and the answer she received was very rude and condescending. Staff that helpful and courteous- have reloading supplies/ archery range/ handgun only range. Responds to inquiries with some delay. Place I wouldn't mind paying a little extra $ because of decent service. Layout of the store is nice current list of rental guns. Do have some young staff which input seems to be unknowledgeable at times. Currently in the state of SE Wis this is one of the best gun shop today. read more
