Because of the timing, I couldn't even pick it up until Tuesday. The pricing feels highly suspect. For a bike that costs $350 brand new, I was charged over $200 for a new rear tire, chain, and miscellaneous items. To make it worse, I paid an extra $30 for a "lifetime membership" because they promised it would give me reduced rates. Instead, my bill somehow jumped from a quoted $160 to $202. The math makes absolutely no sense. But the worst part is the complete lack of basic safety quality control. When I finally got the bike home, I realized the front brakes were completely unattached and just hanging there. This is a massive safety hazard. They kept my bike for days, charged me hundreds of dollars, and ultimately handed me back a bike that wasn't even safe to ride. Now I have to waste my own time and gas to go back and get them to finish the job. Take your bike somewhere else where they actually care about mechanical safety and honest pricing.

Making matters worse is that the shoes are double-stacked, meaning I had to pull out the first set of boxes to see if the boxes hiding behind them were 1) the shoes I wanted, and 2) the right size. This took quite a bit more time than I had anticipated spending on this activity! Once I finally found a pair that was in my size and I liked, I went up front to pay and while there were several employees hanging around the door, only one of them was at a register, so I had to wait for her to finish with the customer in front of me. Then after my transaction was complete, she told the crew that she was taking her break and someone would need to be available in her absence.

The store it self is way bigger than it looks and is similar to Walmart with more meat and potatoes items that people want all across the board, not every stupid little thing. It reminds me of department stores from an earlier time which have all but disappeared, my mom dragged me to them as a child as their time was ending and they left the landscape. I wandered the store looking at everything and picking up items, some from the flyer and some things I needed which could be similar to a Walmart but I noticed something, this has a small town community feel vs the big commercial store experience. It seemed like a family outing thing to do and not just a retail experience by observing the people shopping today. There was generally some good prices on the items which explains the popularity of the place and just a nice shopping experience vs a Walmart, the kids were better behaved. Extremely well-maintained and clean. This time one of my guests (I won't name names) lowered one of the boat's anchors, and it came untied. It sank to the bottom of the lake and we couldn't retrieve it. We were a little worried that we'd have to pay for it, but the staff at Beachside was extremely understanding and cool about it. Will definitely rent from Beachside again!
