I arrived with my "law enforcement " grandson to do a simple firearm transfer. Grandpa transferring pistol to grandson, easy simple transaction, I know, I held an FFL for many years. From the time we walked in she was hostile and carried on with BS reasons she couldn't do that type of transfer. She could buy it, then sell it back to us!! Another reason was it could be stolen, are you fn kidding me. Easy to check. Your WEB page brags on cheap transfers, looks like this belongs with the rest of reviews on false statements. WEB page brags about large gun inventory, wrong, very limited selection and over priced. Look, bottom line, there are so many other places to shop. I wouldn't give this place a second thought.

This fine gunsmithy has been in business at the Rio Salado Sportsmans Club for about 40 years, or so. We have put a bag of parts in Bob's hands before, to later magically receive a beautiful gun. I started going here just after they opened. In fact, I had Bob rebuild some 1911's recently for me that he tuned up for me new back in the 80's and 90's. Ever since they hooked up with Caswells.com, they have garnered even more happy customers. Sean, the new owner, is a very capable gunsmith, and between the two of them just about anything is possible within the realm of sanity. I like doing yelp reviews, but I love to brag about these guys. 2 locations- one at Caswells Mesa, and one at the Usery Pass target range. I was discussing another project for my Uncle Jeff with a noted military historian, novelist and gunwriter. When the subject of great gunsmiths came up, he mentioned Bob LaMarca right off the bat. I never did get a chance to tell him that the pictures of a couple of pistols that I emailed to him earlier were actually built by his old friend.

This shop has been really, really good to me. When I first bought my bow they went above and beyond…read moreto help me get setup. It was a used bow and I brought it in to have them check it over before I bought it. They told me what they thought it was worth and didn't even try to sell me on anything new. They were very helpful. After I bought it they helped me out a ton. Set me up with arrows and everything else I needed. They even let me shoot at the range in the back room till my wife called and wondered where the heck I was at. 8 months later I'm 6 days away from my first hunt with my bow and I dry fired my bow and broke the string. I called them and said they could get me dialed in before my hunt, just needed to track down a string for my 6 year old bow. I called around town to compare pricing but literally no one in town could get it for at least two weeks and at this point my hunt was 4 days away. Ed told me to bring it by and he'd see what he could do. The shop had my bow restrung and tuned 3 days later. They even took an extra hour to help me get my bow tuned specifically to my shot before I left. This shop has been very helpful every time I've gone in and are always willing to help out with anything extra I need.

High FFL Transfer Fee: Not Awesome…read more.. I had stopped in here once a few months back to check this place out as I drove by. This initial visit I felt like everyone was pretty friendly so I thought when I ordered a rifle that was hard to find online I would have it shipped here to pick up and do the FFL paperwork. I ordered my rifle and paid for it online from the company across the United States and they shipped it right over to these guys and I got my Fed ex confirmation at 10 AM in the morning yesterday so at 2 PM yesterday I stopped in to grab my rifle thinking that should be an easy process. I was told by the older gentleman there that they had 50 guns come in that day and they had not finished processing them and told me that he would call me when he was ready for me. I felt like that wasn't the most polite thing since I had already driven there and it wouldn't have been hard to go and grab the big long box with my name on it and just do the paperwork and have me out of his hair. So I left went about my day and waited and never heard back. Finally today they called me after they had had the gun for over 24 hours and told me I could come in to pick it up. The older gentleman took care of me again and I am guessing he remembered me and was still annoyed that I had the nerve to show up at a store without having an appointment which was not a policy on a sign or known to me so it wasn't the happiest of interactions. I filled out my paperwork and wasn't even given a chance to look at my weapon before I was handed it to me and sent out the door. It is $40 to do an FFL transfer here from another dealer. This seemed a little high to me since I usually pay $20 or $25 at the other dealers that I normally use. All in all I probably wouldn't come back here since they have steep transfer fees and the service just wasn't there. The customer shouldn't feel like they are bothering someone there when they show up to pick something up that they've already paid for. I feel like this is a pretty fair and accurate review of my experience here since I subtracted one starfor making me return another day instead of helping me the first day I came when they weren't any customers in the store anyway. I subtracted the other store because it just wasn't a friendly experience. I will say the younger guy does seem more friendly but he was sitting at the desk and not the one helping me.

Ben gave me a great price and answered all my questions in a timely and informative manner. The shipping was lightening fast. When I received the gun from my FFL dealer, they were surprised by how good the condition it was in. It was everything as advertised, it was very clean, had all the paperwork, all the magazines, night sights, all the grips and it came in the S&W blue hard case. I haven't gotten the chance to take it to the range yet but I'm confident it will function fine. It's a nice experience to deal with a small but attentive shop to purchase fire arms. I will come back once my credit card cools off.
