What this place is not. It is not a white tablecloth fine dining establishment. It is not a gay bar, nothing wrong with gay bars, it is not a high-end steak house. What it is, and what I am rating it on. It is a dive bar, it has sticky tables, (not really) it has pool tables and tacky decor, it has really friendly service and it is awesome for what it is. The crowd can be a little rough and it is a Bar, must be 21 years or older. It has typical bar food, hamburgers and anything you can put in a fryer. But on Thursdays and Saturday Nights, after 6:00PM it is steak night. I usually don't like local grills for steaks, they're usually terrible. But not here, one of the best steaks I've had outside a high dollar steak house. After 6PM it is time for steaks, they close down the other menu items and you have a choice of steak (Ribeye) or steak (Ribeye). You can choose your temperature, I chose MR, and it was probably Med, but that's okay. Comes with a baked potato, a roll and grilled onions and mushrooms. But what stands out was the flavor, so good, place got a little smokey as they grilled. I really like mushrooms and grilled onions, but the steak didn't need em. I took mine off and enjoyed the steak as it was. I did finish the mushrooms and onions as a side. Highly recommend steak night. The salad was plain with cheese and croutons, nothing special. The Potato was cooked perfectly with a cooked crunchy skin, soft potato goodness in the middle. Came with butter and sour cream, I would have liked some cheese, bacon and chives, but it was still good. Lots of food, didn't try dessert. My wife enjoyed her steak too but would have liked some other options, it was a lot of food for her. But lunch for me the next day. Now for the Rainbow Saloon, I believe that it is the type of Saloon where everyone who enters the door will be able to feel like they just arrived @ home!! I've never had a bad time here at all or had to wait for a drink for over 1 minute. Super reliable bar and the owners are extremely kind and welcoming. At first I was intimidated by the regulars and thought I'd be warded off but sure enough, I became a regular. Their tap selection isn't the best, but if you just like plane jane beer it's a great spot. Steak night is always the best with a big portion of food and cheap priced beer. I really like the small town atmosphere. If you're looking for fancy this isn't the place. Down to earth staff and personable service. Genuinely friendly and eager to make new friends. You have to have your ID checked as soon as you walk in. Drinks were good and delivered fast. We ordered the wings mild that still had a slight kick. Sauce tasted a nice blend of BBQ and tomatoey. A little sweet and a little hot. We orders the combo basket. I think the food items were cooked too long as some things were a bit beyond crispy. We plan on being back for the steak night as we've heard it's fantastic. I went to the Rainbow Saloon yesterday for a late lunch with friends/family. I ordered the wings and had a couple of grape mules. Everything was delicious! The wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce (mild) was just right. Our servers were very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The decor in the restaurant was cute and just what you would expect from a "saloon." The restroom was clean. I would definitely go there again. read more

First visit on Thursday steak night. This is the real deal. Run by Terry and his wife and daughter. Terry has owned it for 21 years. Super friendly! It's an authentic, older rustic place on 1900 in Roy Utah. I loved it. Old but clean and perfect if you want to get away from the usual pretend saloon scene or lame unauthentic chain bar and grill. The steak was cooked to order by Terry and you can get it anyway you want. I loved the grilled mushrooms and onions. Just right and good draft beer. I read the reviews of several people recommended Saturday Steak night. My husband and I are new to Utah and have not found any great steak places in the area. We were hopeful after reading the reviews that we hade found a place. Unfortunately, we weren't happy! The steak comes with onions and mushrooms. However, there are more onions and mushrooms than there is meat. It also comes with a baked potatoe. The potatoe is extremely small and under cooked. Mine was so hard I had to cut it with a knife. Decided to try our luck and go out for one of their famous steak nights. I am happy to report that they are taking the COVID guidelines very seriously. Obviously, the steak dinner didn't disappoint. In all the years I have been infrequently stopping in, I have never been disappointed. Last night they were also doing a raffle for something like the children's hospital or maybe Christmas donations... either way, they also seem to frequently do some sort of raffle for a good cause. My family and I decided to try the Rainbow on a Sunday evening. Even though it is close to home we have never been here before. When we got there it was quiet with only a few other customers. The bartender was friendly and helpful. The drinks are good size and fairly priced. The only food we tried were the fried pickles. They were very good. After we got our drinks and we're heading for a table the bartender mentioned to us that pool was free for the night. So we fumbled through a few games. This is a local dive bar. Very friendly service! I have been here a few times. There burgers are pretty good but Thursday Stake night is the best!!! You have to come early though a lot of people order this and you might have to wait for hours for your meal.
