After Namie introduced herself and asked what we were looking for, she took us through a door to a larger showroom. The fire-pit noted on the Amazon website is Dark Grey (the photo on the Amazon Website is also Dark Gray). The original firepit that I ordered was in Dark Grey, however it was damaged. Everything was fine with the color of the original firepit; however, it was severely damaged requiring me to discard it. I requested Shop4Patio to pick up the damaged firepit; however, they refused. Shop4Patio sent me out a second firepit; however, it was the incorrect color. The new firepit was sent to me in Light Grey instead of Dark Grey. The box Ship4Patio delivers the fire-pits in specifically states "Dark Grey", "Light Grey" , and "Brown" on the packaging. The color of the firepit is printed on the packaging. It is written on the box along with the other colors that they carry. I requested that Shop4Patio pick-up the incorrect "Light Grey" fire-pit and deliver the correct one; however, they refused and told me to file a complaint with Amazon. I filed a complaint/return with Amazon; however, they refuse to fix the problem and provide me the correct color fire-pit in Dark Grey I spoke to a service rep at Shop4Patio named Mia as well as another employee on 11/23/24 and was rudely hung up on while explaining my concerns and requesting a replacement in the correct color. There was no regard to my concerns in receiving both a damaged and incorrect item for the second time. Shop4Patio employees lied and dismissed my concerns by saying that there are variations in the color grey. In the e-mail Shop4Patio sent to me, they noted the following: "I wanted to clarify that the fire pit you ordered is indeed gray, as specified on Amazon. Purchased an outdoor fire pit and it didn't even make it one year without falling apart. They used a plaster base cement that desolved over the winter. They tried to blame me by saying they emailed me tips to take care of it. A tip is a suggestion not a must do, tip included sealing it. It's sold as an outdoor fire pit. "I'm extremely disappointed with my Shop4Patio purchase. After spending over $10,000 on what was supposed to be high-quality outdoor furniture, the items started to break down after just 1 season and now, need to be replaced and it's only been 3 years. The chairs, couch, and lounge chairs are all falling apart because of poor quality wicker--one guest even fell through a lounge chair during a visit. The fire pit and propane tank cover are also disintegrating. At the same time, I purchased Purple Leaf bar chairs and a bistro set...all sitting on the same patio and covered during the winter. Shop4Patio wicker is deteriorated, and the Purple Leaf wicker is still 100% as it was 3 years ago with no break-down. While I understand the company's 1-year warranty policy, it's unacceptable that outdoor furniture, especially at this price point, deteriorates so quickly. I followed care instructions, but this level of poor durability is not what I expected for the cost. The lack of support or resolution from customer service only adds to the frustration. If you want high priced furniture with perhaps the shortest warranty in the industry and a great chance the furniture will fail shortly after the warranty expires, this is your place. And while my customer service experience was not rude, it was as expected- they do not care about their customers or the failure of their poor quality overpriced products. Buyer Beware. Here is a long and honest review. I hope this helps you as you decide if you want to buy an Akoya fire pit table from this company. This review only applies to the Akoya cast fiber concrete fire pit table. I have not purchased any patio furniture so I cannot comment on the quality of their furniture. I ordered from Shop4Patio a 48" rectangular Akoya fire pit table and propane tank holder on June 28, 2020. It shipped really quickly and arrived shortly after ordering. The ordering process and shipping process was very impressive. Unfortunately, less than 1 month of using it, the fire pit had issues. The fire pit would regularly cut off. Customer support was pretty responsive but I was upset that I had to contact them less than 1 month after using this. I emailed them on 7/31/20 and 8/3/20 with issues related to the fire pit turning off. They sent me a new thermocouple and when I went to replace it, I realized the original one was over tightened and had broken off. I replaced it and it worked, but then the problem happened again shortly after. The fire pit just shuts off after a few minutes of use (I cannot attach videos here but I have one showing the problem that I sent to customer service). In September of 2020, I figured I'll convert this to natural gas vs using propane, maybe that would have an impact on the performance. I had a natural gas line installed and ordered the conversion kit and that did seem to help! It was working more regularly, until it wasn't again. Also, kudos to the very fast shipping on the natural gas conversion kit, I received it 2 days after ordering it. It was time to put it away for the season. I live in Chicago. This is a Florida based company. We have very different winters. Fire pit tables are meant for colder weather use. They do a good job outlining all the care and maintenance details and I used the included cover, wrapped the fire pit in a tarp, and tucked it under a patio table and wrapped all of that in a tarp. It was completely sealed away from moisture and snow. I pull the propane tank holder out and this is what I find. It's badly cracked and crumbling. Both on the holder and on the fire pit table, the paint is bubbling and peeling off. It looks awful. This was used less than 3 months before being stored away and I cannot even use it now. I spent over $1,000 on a piece of what is now crumbling concrete junk. I emailed customer care in March, 2021 and there wasn't much they could do. They say these are only warrantied for 90 days. They also say, and I quote from their email: "From the images here, it seems the base of the unit has cracked. Sadly, we have seen cases like this before and have heard from our manufacturer in regard to this. It seems the piece has been exposed to cold temperatures. There are two weather factors which may cause damage on these units. One will be damp weather which may cause for the paint to come loose form the unit. This is because the piece is coated with water based exterior paint." They have seen cases like this before and the manufacturer has informed them about this. Yet they still continue to sell these. I have no doubt, maybe in a Florida winter climate these hold up, but if you live anywhere outside of a warm winter climate, I would hesitate before purchasing. I'm out $1,000 and I need to find a new fire pit table for my patio. I'm so disappointed. Customer service has been pretty good, but they hide behind their policies when it would be a lot easier to just help a customer out. I know they are a small business but if these fiber concrete tables are that delicate, they really shouldn't sell to colder climates. AFTER I see my stuff sitting in Washington State for more than 24 hours - I initiate the call. I'm told someone will get back to me - and yes, they have my stuff. It landed in Washington on Thursday the 13th. I called on Friday the 14th. By Monday - nothing yet. So I call again. Keep in mind we're now 2 orders in and 6 plus weeks. So I finally get transferred to someone and they ask if I can give them ANOTHER 4 hour winder of time on Tuesday the 18th. I said yes - keep in mind I work full time, have to block these 4 hours so I don't have Zoom calls, .... then Tuesday morning - day of the delivery - I get a text. Driver sick. Can't make it! I then spend hours on the phone with Shop4Patio...and texts with the logistics company - and I'm told absolutely on Wednesday the 19th. I get a phone call from Jose - I'm on it! I'll call you at 9 in the morning on Wednesday and make sure everything is okay. I get nothing. So I get in my car and go to the Apple store. I get a text while I'm there - we'll be at your house in 20 minutes. I call back to Shop4Patio - and I'm like - sorry! Not there. No one will be there to sign. Never heard from Jose. Jose then calls me and says - I was busy!!!!! And PS - never heard back from Nick. I've asked multiple times, via phone and email - I'd like a discount. An apology. You all to do something for me. And I now get radio silence after hearing for weeks - I've escalated this to see what we can do for you. Hmmm. So, the delivery guy leaves me a threatening voicemail - unless I hear from you in 5 minutes, we're leaving. In the meantime, I've already been on the phone with Bruno AND Jose and was told that Jose was handling it. Obviously NOT! I call the logistics guy - fill him in. And said - per my earlier instructions - put the pallet on the street, directly in front of my house. He says - I see the honda - I'll put it there. I'm like - great! I get home - the pallet is on my LAWN! I then open the boxes and it's little black screw here, little black screw there, bottom legs here, bottom legs there!!! So again, let me say this - NO. NO. But I had already paid in full tried to go through Amazon to see what they could do. Nothing. Table gets delivered we love it. Well at first this furniture was beautiful. Exactly 1yr later I went to sit on the sofa and I fell through, the entire frame was rusted and falling apart. We turned over the chairs and they were also rusted and coming apart underneath. Luckily no one got hurt. I know know why they only have a 1yr limited warranty. The furniture is beautiful and way cheaper then anywhere around, but when you take into consideration that you will have to replace it after a year or so, you are better off buying better furniture. We saw a Facebook ad for Shop4Patio and browsed their website. They have a nice collection of patio furniture sets. They offer two lines. A "high-end", rust-free, aluminum collection. And a lower-priced, powder-coated steel collection. We purchased the lower priced 13-piece collection. The sales lady was very straight forward with me when I asked about rust. The lower-priced collection WILL rust if you leave it exposed to rain. I bought weather covers for the lounge chairs and love seat/arm chairs for $100 add'l. The fabric on the cushions is also not weather resistant.She explained I should take them in when not in use. They do offer replacement cushion covers when/if your cushions fade/mold for around $20 ea, she said. I think the lower-priced set is ideal for a covered patio or screened in outdoor area. I have a set at my home I purchased in May 2017, that has rusted and snapped and a friend of my literally fell through, but luckily was not hurt. I contacted the company who told me now that it has fallen apart that it should be covered or under a patio overhang when not used. If you live outside of Florida, do not buy from Shop4Patio. It took 5 months for my order to be fully complete. I understand delays with COVID and I was very understanding throughout. But there was horrible communication (or lack there of), when things came it was missing pieces and entire pallets, slightly damaged, the pieces didn't fit together (and we had a professional doing the assembly), and the list goes on. The rep I spoke with blamed that on the shipping company and that it's a third party. I reject this excuse because Shop4Patio chooses who they partner with and it's their responsibility to ensure a positive customer experience. If they're unhappy with their shipping vendor, they should sort that out on their end. I'm not even so upset about the delays, because with COVID there are a lot of factors come into play. But the communication... no excuse for poor communication. We spent around $6,000 and the experience was horrendous. The product itself looks great with the exception of noticeable paint damage. They offered to reimburse $225, which while nice, is nothing when taking into consideration how much we spent, how long it took, that there were missing pallets and pieces TWICE and the overall poor communication. When we were missing pieces, I needed to notify them - no one reached out to me, and the response was "oh that piece didn't meet our QA requirements when in the warehouse." So they knew that that piece was pulled from the order and didn't tell me. Horrible. And even now with the refund, I noticed a whole month later that it never went through. When I reached out they said, "Hello, I checked this with my manager. It seems there was an error when this was being refunded back to the same form of payment. We have placed this on refunds once again." That's great, but why aren't they staying on top of these things? It shouldn't be on the customer to ensure a positive and complete experience. I would give 4 stars for the product itself (would give 5 for the product if it wasn't damaged and so hard to put together) but negative stars for customer experience. Won't be shopping there again.
