There are many things to love about Wegmans. Ultimately, the reason I find myself there on a monthly basis, is their price, vegetarian selection and cakes. First, the price. I find Wegmans to be one of the cheaper grocery stores in the area. They offer a lot of their own brand items which are very reasonably priced. Their vegetables and fruits, frozen items and fresh bread are all things I find to be competitive (if not better priced) with other grocery stores. Vegetarian selection. While other grocers have gone away from their own line of vegetarian/vegan items, Wegmans hasn't. They've got super reasonable vegan nuggets, chicken patties and spicy chicken patties. The nuggets come in both regular size and family size. Baked goods. We get my kids' birthday cakes at Wegmans. The ordering process is easy, they will do half chocolate and half vanilla for us and the icing is not as overly sweet as other places we've tried. They have done a decent job and, the one time they gave us the wrong flavor, they fixed the situation. There is a lot of other things I like about Wegmans. Unprofessional manager. Instacart shoppers beware. I work for Instacart, and I was shopping at this store. Since this Instacart shopping involved three orders, I organized the three orders among five reusable bags. As I was getting ready to check out the items, the manager approached me. I greeted the manager, and the manager did not greet me back. Then, the manager asked me if the items I shopped for were "pre-purchased". I answered no, and the manager quickly scolded me for putting the items in reusable bags. As the manager was checking out all the items, the manager was having a personal coversation over the phone. I've been to this Wegmans dozens of times. It's by office, so I often grocery shop here, grab lunch here, or eat lunch here (they have seating for the cafe upstairs). The store is large, with a good inventory in pretty much every section. Great cheese section, great flowers, great bakery section. Their produce section has a great variety of produce but can definitely sell out things - I can't always find what I need. But other grocery stores in the city just can't compete with Wegmans - their stores (including this one) are bright, modern, clean, well-stocked (except for the produce they sometimes sell out of). And the cafe!? There's a hot bar and a make your own bowl section, but you can find me at the sushi section. Their sushi is the best grocery store sushi I've found. I often stop by for lunch for some of their sushi! But if sandwiches, salads, bowls, or dumplings are more your taste for lunch, they have all of that, too! My only complaints about this Wegmans location is the parking lots and the crowds. The parking lot is tough - not a lot of ways in or out, so it is a little bit chaotic. I usually visit the store on weekdays, but we visited this past Saturday, and it was wild. So crowded that I could barely move my cart around in the produce section! So, yes, this Wegmans store is great, and everyone knows it! Be prepared for a little chaos, but it's worth it for how good the store is. read more

Nothing like getting into that holiday spirit by going to Wegmans on a Saturday at 11 AM with a million other people. I'll admit, I had a fleeting thought that I should have sneaked one of my elderly dog's prescription Xanax, but Kathy at checkout actually checked my mood, as well as my grocery haul. Went to get a few things to stock up while they are doing construction on self checkout. I went to the regular register first and as I was going they cut off their register and left. So I went to self checkout and they sent me back to that register since they were "closed". I was already annoyed the lady clearly closed on me on purpose but as I was leaving the self checkout lady let 2 other men use self checkout then when I asked about it they tried to gaslight me into saying it was open the whole time like they didn't send me to the register If the store manager sees this both cashiers need to be spoken to read more

This is my local Wegmans, but it's not my grocery of choice. My diet is primarily vegan but Mom's is 18 minutes away and more pricey, so I often find myself here. So that's my point of view for this review. Of course it's a huge store with an amazing selection and the employees are helpful. Here are my nits. Wegmans is way too plastic-centric when it comes to salad greens and even other veggies. And you know those containers can't be recycled here. I don't want pre-washed individually packed romaine leaves--I want a head of romaine lettuce. They do have such in their small organic section but 9 times out of 10 it is limp and dry. For some reason major grocery chains apart from Whole Foods can't keep their head lettuce fresh. I think it's because of slow turnaround. One thing I despise is bags made of plastic mesh. When you cut them open small fragments fly everywhere and stick to the scissors. And this is sometimes the only way they sell organic lemons or potatoes. W. In the old days sold bulk. No more. All the nuts are in plastic; all the grains are packaged up. The closest you can get to bulk are those one pound Goya dried bean packages. On the plus side there is a decent scattering of plant-based options, at least in terms of processed food. And they make a decent effort to stock so-called ethnic foods. My final gripe (I have more but need to get up) is the excessive reliance on Wegmans-branded items. This is purely a profit move. They don't usually have my vegan faux chicken bouillon of choice but they stock their own version, and it's not good. Oh, watch weekends and holidays. Zoo time. To avoid frustration I park up top by the movie theater and walk down. If you don't have a full cart of shopping and can carry everything it makes more sense and you aren't tempted to start screaming at the idiot drivers filling the main lot. The app is quite helpful to know if they carry an item and where it is located. They carry my favorite English sandwich relish, overpriced but whatever. read more

Wow. Used to love coming here for lunch. Price is $15.99 per pound for their hot bar. The selection sucks and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Pretty sad when my mind says I would have been better off at the nearest convenience store or fast food joint. Over cooked Asian. Dry fries, onion rings, pathetic looking Mac and cheese. Cold mozzarella chew toys (they were cold and dry). Sesame chicken was desert dry and more breading than chicken. Rice was dry. Crispy Thai Chicken was flavorless mush. Not crispy. No spice. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: Called and asked Customer Service (apparently she was a supervisor) about a grocery product in-stock or not. She transferred us to Groceries. We waited a LONG time and no one picked up the phone. Called Customer Service a 2nd time ... same woman (a supervisor), who said she'd transfer the call and be on-line with us. A LIE - we could hear machinery in the background and some guy said a cutomer calls and hangs up. There was no sign of the Customer Service supervisor on the phone with us at that time. If she was there, she was ASLEEP or INDIFFERENT. We yell HELLO, HELLO and no one answers and they hang up the phone. WHAT AN UNPROFESSIONAL GROUP OF WORKERS. I finally got a chance to visit this location in my new area. I stopped in to get something off the hot bar only to discover that everything is packaged, I'm assuming its due to Covid, that was kind of disappointing but understandable. I still walked around to pick up a couple of needed items, as always they have a variety of a lot of different things, will defiantly visit in the future when I have a bit more time, and not in a desperate search for ready made food. This is my fav Wegmans hands down! I do find the Owings Mills one easier to navigate through but the selection at Hunt Valley is none other! They are always stocked and I enjoy spending time picking out what I would like to get. The staff are always friendly and they have a great selection of flowers. During COVID they have taken the best precautions I've seen a store take thus far. They are sanitizing, practicing social distancing and all done in an orderly fashion. I recommend going here if you are looking for stocked shelves and a non overwhelming experience. read more

Their grocery pickup is a complete disaster!!You'll wait for 15-20 minutes with them possibly bringing out only one order while the line of cars waiting is 4-5 deep. They have been unable to locate my order and I've had to show them the receipt. Save yourself time and just do the shopping yourself or pickup your groceries at a less incompetent store. Oh man, do not come here at NOON the day before Christmas like I did to pick up meals for the next day. The parking lot was wall-to-wall and inside the store was super crowded-- I had a COVID panic attack at the sight of too many people but managed to navigate to the Catering section of the store. I eventually found the right register and/or people to help me. They had my meals ready and the apple pie for dessert as well. While waiting in line, I had to give the hairy eyeball to some lady who was 3-feet away, definitely NOT 6-feet. She muttered an apology and backed up. Anyway, the meals were very reasonably priced ($14 per meal?) and included turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and stuffing. It was all really delicious. I LOVE WEGMANS. Side story: I grew up near Bel Air and everyone was so excited when the Wegmans opened there-- myself included. When I moved to Timonium I was so excited to find out there was a Wegmans not too far away in Hunt Valley! It was like Christmas Morning. I love this Wegmans. They have a huge selection of produce and basically a huge selection of everything. If you're gluten free or eat organic or whatever dietary restrictions you may have, they have everything here for you. Their sushi is also bomb for grocery store sushi. I MAY have bought the "Family Pack" sushi and turned it into a "Cynthia Pack" on more than one occasion... This is a really random thing to comment on but the bathrooms in here are like a freaking palace. They now have these cool individual hand dryers next to each sink. Staff is also really awesome. My sister and I went in there looking for a certain type of grape and the staff was nice enough to find out whether they had more in the back. How I wish I could exclaim loudly that the staff has changed since my initial review, that employees are warm, welcoming, helpful; unforutnately, they're still, for the most part, a miserable lot. This place can be overwhelming since it is huge and has a huge variety of items for the health conscious and environment conscious people. I dare did not travel any further from the hot bar. But was not prepared for the cost of my purchase. I definitely wanted sushi which I have had in the past and then ventured to the hot bar. I am funny when it comes to open bar, since I watched people use a scoop for another food item that has a specific tong or scoop to retrieve food, cross contamination. But I took the risk to get some Asian food for both me and my husband. I had the lo mein and sesame chicken with green beans and a pork egg roll, and for my husband I choose the lo mein and the broccoli and mushroom fry. Then I got 2 teas, one was Wegman's brand, Hibiscus green tea unsweetened and the Turkey Hill Diet Green Tea. Went to check out and was shocked to find out my order was $40‍ I could have went to Carrabba's and used my AARP card for dinner and saved $. Patiently waiting to have a sub made while the lady ahead of me was trying to decide what to order. Not in a hurry but after 3rd time customer ahead told the employee to take my order while she decided I ordered my sandwich. While the employee was making it another young male employee in the pizza area started shouting to the employee making my sandwich "don't take his order ahead of the lady who was already there". The employee tried telling him she said to take my order because she wasn't ready but he wasn't listening. I finally shouted back at him "she told me to go, no one is jumping head of her". He finally stopped talking but then was looking at me like he wanted to say something else. I'm a customer and a human being like anyone else and always respectful of others so getting that kind of treatment from an employee because of his own personal issues or feelings makes me very upset! read more

I love Wegmans. It is very easy to shop at Wegmans for hours just browsing the aisles.They have all kinds of ready to eat food: Sushi, Indian, Thai food as well as a salad bar, Mediterranean bar, fresh squeezed orange juice bar....you think of it they have it. Wegman also has ready to take and prepared chicken pesto, fresh fish, crab pretzels, huge bakery that has irish soda bread and different kinds of amazing pastries, all kinds of cheeses and meats, live lobsters and crabs to cook. The variety is excellent, everything is delicious but the prices for the ready to eat bar are little high 8.99 per lb, so it is easy to spend $25 for lunch because the bar is paid by weight. The checkout line is also very long and if you are shopping on the weekend be prepared to look for parking. Also if you are getting sushi look what the box says....cooked vs raw. I by mistake bought cooked salmon sushi and that was NOT my thing. But to each its own...I learned and now I look for raw sushi. read more

As a Floridian I scoffed when I read a story about the best grocery chains in America where Wegman's was rated higher than Publix. Then I visited this Wegman's and changed my mind. First thing you notice is that it's huge! It almost feels like a warehouse club it's so big. When you walk in and go to the right you encounter the section that is both for freshly prepared items that are already packaged and food stations where they'll make something for you. The first few times I came here it was late a night when the food stations weren't populated with workers. When you come here earlier this whole section has so much activity. The different food stations offer subs, pizza, desserts, and sushi just to name a few. There's also a large buffet with great variety ranging from Chinese potstickers to plantains in the "Latin" section. You can mix and match anything when you're filling up a to-go container. The desserts we sampled were wonderful as well. We bought Wegman's donut holes and somehow I resisted getting their chocolate chocolate chip cookies after getting a free sample. The main grocery section can offer a great variety of choices with so much space available. The prices were quite good and they sell Wegman's label items. I don't know how they can sell 24 bottles of water for less than three bucks. On top of all this the hours they're open are insanely good. They're open from 6am until midnight! I would kill to have a nice grocery store open that late near me. They also have self checkout and take Apple Pay. Wegman's, please come to Florida. read more

Wegmans is a unique experience, which is a weird thing to find myself typing about a grocery store. Their every day, non-sale prices are generally much cheaper than other grocery stores in the area, even when other places have sales. The produce is generally fresh and they made some changes to the layout recently to make that area a little less cramped. The shelves are almost always fully stocked, even right after the weekend rush. The seafood and meat counters are always fully staffed with friendly folks. The market area is great if you want to grab something to eat while you're there. The lines can be pretty long during busy hours. The checkout staff is always friendly and chatty, although the staff stocking the shelves can be a bit abrasive when you ask them for help or when they are plowing through with items to stock shelves. read more

Stopped shopping at Wegmans before covid because I was finding they often did not have produce and herbs in stock when I went. ( I hate going to two different stores) . One of the reasons I loved shopping here the the first place was their variety of cool produce and grocery items which slowly stared disappearing. When asked the employee said each Wegmans stocks according to what clients are looking for in that area. So I guess people from hunt valley are not very adventurous.
