The people in front of us slow though, which slowed the round down. No Marshalls on the course or drink cart, which is an area for improvement. The course itself was in really good shape. It's a fun course layout, with some wide open fairways, dog leg tee shots, and it's one of those courses that gets easier the more you play out. The bunkers had a good, firm sand, which is rare for public courses in the area. The greens were punched but still rolled pretty fast. Can't wait to come back here in the summer when the greens are better. The restaurant was good. I got a breakfast burrito and this thing filled me up for the entire round. Pricing is amazing with most breakfast and lunch items less than $15. Good selection of beers and alcohol too. Overall, glad I rediscovered moffett field golf course. Will definitely be adding this one to the rotation as long as I can get a decent tee time

With that being said, it is not very beginner/ intermediate friendly. We had a tee time at 1pm and they tried to start us early with a different group 15 minutes before our booked time. While we were not very off pace with the group in front of us (now also being four not two) not only was the group of four behind us making remarks, but the timekeeper, I guess you can call him, told us to let them pass us after rushing us through the hole. So not only both rushing us halfway into the hole (split back to our pair) we were now waiting forever for the group of four once behind us, now in front to finish, also keeping the group behind us waiting. We respect the punctuality, but when it applies to everyone and not being hassled in the middle of a hole!

You can save by buying online via their website for as cheap as $10 on Wednesdays. Price varies on the day of the week. Weekends are $18.00 via online. There's a ball vending machine which allows you to select which of 6 color balls to play. For us two of the colors was not available. so we weren't able to get 5 different colors for each player. If two people uses the same color ball, that means you need to pay attention where the ball lands to avoid mix-up. Plenty of parking. There are 2 courses to pick from. To maximize your score, check out each hole before you play to review where the hole is and what obstacle you need to avoid. The starting point usually has 3 or 4 holes on a black rubber mat for you to set your ball. A few of the holes had worn out starting point holes. It can get busy on a weekend which means having to wait for the group ahead of you before proceeding.. Our family had fun.

Tee boxes are uneven, fairways got a lot of dead spots, but as a fun and challenging golf course, it's a fun track to play. A lot of beginners on the course, so pace of play was long. Almost 5.5 hours for 18, which is way too long IMO. We didn't see a marshal on the course, but that would definitely help speed up the pace of play. Price of a weekend round has gone up to $71, which is still somewhat reasonable for a public course in the Bay Area. If you want to take a cart, it's $18 per rider. It's definitely a flatter course, so walking is definitely doable without it being too strenuous. We found out after we booked that they had just aerefied their greens, so the greens were less than optimal, so I probably wouldn't come back until that gets all sorted out and back to normal.

I told…read morethe front desk that I would be playing nine holes and that I would like to use a golf cart They initially told me it was too late to use a golf cart, but when I told them that I only wanted to play nine holes, they said that it would be OK When we got done with our round, and I drove back to the clubhouse, I was accosted by a belligerent golf course employee who sneered at me saying "you were supposed to be back 12 minutes ago" He implied that I was late and returning the golf cart But nobody told me upfront there was a cutoff time for returning the golf cart The belligerent employee further denigrated me by insisting that I remove my clubs and hurry up so that he could have the cart My complaint here is that I paid the fees and I played by the rules; and nobody told me there was a return time If I knew there was a return time I would've come back sooner and not played the full nine holes But to be denegrated, indeed insulted by a belligerent employee was not something that I expected to receive when I paid my $92 for playing a round of nine holes at the Sunnyvale golf course today It would have been nice if somebody at the golf course had just simply said thank you for coming, but they were seemingly unable to do that. Not once did I hear thank you at the start time the end time. That to me is poor customer service

Have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when I asked about using the hitting bays to demo clubs, and a nice young lady got me set up and even said she would build clubs with shafts to my specs to try! Wasn't expecting that level of service. Unfortunately, she had to excuse herself and another gentleman took over who wasn't as accommodating in offering to build to my specs. Got to demo three of the hottest new drivers and 3 woods with no sales pressure in their state of the art golf simulators. Although, I didn't buy, I was impressed with the service and selection. Then I began walking around the store and saw they have a Trackman practice area that people can sign up for as regulars and a good amount of clothing and accessories with many popular retail brands (Nike, Adidas, etc) and lesser known but quality looking apparel on sale for reasonable ($50 and under, not $100-150 on sale) prices. As a regular shopper at the Golf Mart Superstore in South City/San Bruno, I would day this store is nicer but doesn't have as many used clubs, esp. from top brands like Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, etc., to choose from. As an avid golfer interested in improving my game, I will be back soon to try out more of the latest equipment or perhaps take advantage of their practice program or free fitting service, too!!
