Instead of trying to help or explaining the store's policy professionally, he responded with an attitude that made an already disappointing situation much worse. A few things I wanted to point out - the seat was pretty narrow and hard, which made it uncomfortable to sit on. It had been a while since I last biked, so I'm not sure if I just need to wear padded shorts or if the seat wasn't the right fit for me. Another thing is that I couldn't sit in the front because the seat was too tall for me to comfortably reach the pedals, and there didn't seem to be an easy way to adjust the height. Lastly, it would've been nice to have a phone mount on the handlebar for navigation. We turned in the bike at the end of the day. Overall, the process was very smooth, the staff were friendly, and the rental was affordable. I would do it again, but I'd wear padded shorts next time :)

We went not completely sure which bike we wanted or the best fit. The staff working was very informative and spent a lot of time explaining options and tradeoffs. I appreciate they didn't just push us to the most expensive options. Rather, they took the time to understand his preferences and use for the bike and then made a few recommendations. They were very patient the entire time, letting him test ride multiple bikes until he found the perfect one. We had such a great experience that we went back to purchase a second bike later that evening!

Moreover, the store is dog friendly and has dog treats at the ready. Occasionally, BPS will host a Monday club night whereby if you are a BPS club member, you can stand in line to get a light meal and enter a raffle to win items, but I recommend you go early and stand in line or else there will be no more food left.

I've been to a number of sports stores (Sports Basement, Fleet Feet, Footwear Etc.) so was looking forward to trying out Roadrunner. +++ Chris was incredible. Greeted me immediately but made sure that the customer he was working with was taken care of. Asked if I had been there before (no, I hadn't), offered feet analysis (yes, please) and while we were doing that, asked great questions about context -- activity level, any injuries I had experienced, shoes I had run in before and my experience in them. He made some measured suggestions about what might fit my feet and running style, did the measurements, and then modified his recommendations. He brought out his recommendations, even offering a sequence in which to try them. Then he _gave me space_ to take time with the shoes. He let me know that he was available any time I might need him, and would very periodically check in, but was great about giving me time with the shoes. After the first round of feedback on the shoes, he went and got one or two more, after which I made my decision. +++ I ended up with shoes I LOVED. After trying out 6-10 different shoes recommended by experience salespeople, none of them felt great. They were all decent and I was getting used to the idea that that's just how it was going to be. I had tried Brooks, Hokas, On's, Altra's. Based on my experience with my previous shoes, he brought out Brooks but also brought out a Hoka and an Asics. I LOVED the Asics (Gel Cumulus). Felt like putting on a glove but with space, felt secure on the run, just the right amount of padding. I didn't know running shoes could feel like this. Did Chris just get lucky recommending these? Maybe, but he's the only salesperson that suggested these. Note: even AI hadn't come up with this which goes to show that sometimes People 1 AI 0. * Yes, he offered custom insoles that other reviews have talked about. But he wasn't pushy about them at all, and in fact, recommended that we start with the shoes and see how those were before diving further into the customs. + He talked about their VIP program. But it wasn't high-pressured, and in my case, it made sense. $20 for the first year of the program with an immediate 10% off your purchase that day (which was already $15). 10% off purchases in the next year. Plus, he made some mention of $20 in store credit in the first year. It's $20 -- I pay almost that much for a burrito (well, burrito supreme and maybe a drink). + Don't let their narrow storefront fool you -- the store sincerely feels big inside. Can't compare really to Sports Basement since that's just a section and SB is devoted to lots of different activities. Sunnyvale RR feels larger than Menlo Park's Fleet Feet. Don't know how Sunnyvale's RR compared to Campbell's RR (would be curious to hear from those that have been to both.) What's particular nice is you actually DO have room to run in there. + They make you wear their socks for both measurement and trying on shoes. That's actually pretty awesome because it means they're taking care of their shoes. I thought this was clever. They're nice socks so they do simulate what an actual run would be like. - They don't let you take the shoes outside, or least don't seem to. He offered me a run inside the store or on one of several nice treadmills (I've never found treadmill running to approximate road running so I stuck to the store running.) -- He seemed to indicate that WITHOUT the VIP membership, you can't return the shoes after you've worn them. This is very different from Fleet Feet, Nike, and other stores I've been to where they will take shoes back as long as they're in decent condition. * You don't need to check in or put your name on a list when you get there. I don't think that's positive or negative -- this is just about what to expect when you get there. (When you get to Fleet Feet, you put your name on a list so they know whom to help next. Just different ways of doing things.) Super super impressed with Chris. I hear about people falling in love with their shoes -- grateful that this might happen with my next pair due to him.

My boyfriend and I came in to return a pair of shoes, but we were apparently confused about the return/exchange policy--or perhaps it wasn't explained clearly when we originally purchased them. We were under the impression that returns and exchanges could be made within 90 days of purchase. When we arrived, we were told that our shoes could only be exchanged, not returned. That wasn't the issue. Once the policy was explained, we understood it. What made the experience frustrating was the attitude we received from multiple employees. The staff kept repeating the policy over and over, and it started to feel less like they were helping us understand and more like they were talking down to us. One sales associate, Vlad, was especially condescending. He compared our situation to buying a used car, driving it around, scratching it up, and then expecting a full refund. He repeatedly pointed out scuffs on the shoes, even after we acknowledged and understood the policy. The comparison felt unnecessary, and his tone came across as rude rather than helpful. Later, after Vlad went on break, we were assisted by Chris at the register. He was able to process the exchange onto a gift card, which we appreciated, but he also seemed to be in a bad mood and wasn't particularly friendly. Maybe it was just an off day for the staff, but the overall customer service at this location was disappointing. If you have the option, I'd recommend going to the Campbell location instead. I've consistently had much better experiences there.

One staff member assisting my wife initially had done the sales pitch, and we listened willingly. Later on, another person gave the same sales pitch to my wife, and she kindly told her that she's already been told about the membership. When we went to the check-out counter, the person at the counter started giving the same sales pitch about the membership. I immediately cut her off, my wife told her that she has already been told about it, and I said "no thank you." The person at the counter again tried to give the pitch, and I cut her off again and said "no thank you." For a third time, she tried to resume the sales pitch. I got ticked and gave her a stern response: "NO PLEASE!" She finally stopped. That entire experience left a bad impression on me, and I wasn't sure if this type of thing was specific to just the REI in Sunnyvale (I normally don't shop at REI). So I did some research online and found out that this type of thing happens commonly among various REI stores. I even found an online article from 2015 that talked about this, even citing the CEO of REI who gave a response regarding this matter of pushing memberships. He came across as being understanding of this matter. But that was back in 2015. it's now 2026, and obviously nothing has changed relating to this. I'm not returning to REI after what I experienced yesterday. They've lost any potential future business from me. If they can't accept an initial "no" answer and thus continue to push the sale of a membership, they've lost my respect and my business. And should anyone from REI choose to respond to this post, it's not changing anything from me relating to REI.

Been coming to Golf Tech for years now and purchased 95% of the things in my bag from them. Terry is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They have a huge a selection for a small shop and do a lot of custom fitting. I got my Mizuno irons custom fitted here. They also carry the high end exclusive clubs like Honma, Miura and PXG that you won't find at most regular stores. (Out of my price range, but always cool to see :). This is a response to Leigh's reply:…read more In short, I have documentation that proves what I wrote in my initial review. I received only 4 of the 35 lessons (and never got the 2 on-course ones). Texts that prove I had to reschedule only 1 of those 4 lessons within 24 hrs because I was sick (all other reschedule requests were by Leigh, who initiated 3 in total - including 1 within 24 hrs of the scheduled lesson). The texts also prove Leigh was unresponsive for several days at a time on more than one occasion about rescheduling even when he was the initiator to ask for the change. At one point, he had to ask me to remind him when our next lesson was scheduled because he didn't know! There is clear proof I offered 2X the value of those 4 lessons ($40 each vs. $20 each) - which I still believe was a more than fair offer. I never asked for a full refund - ever. I initiated that offer as a compromise to Leigh and only asked for the balance of my payment. In addition to the compromise I described above, I also offered to pay Leigh on a pay-as-we-go schedule AND at a higher rate than the original packaged rate. When it was clear that no compromise could be reached, I initiated a charge-back with my CC company - again, consistent with the offer I described above (whereas I could have easily asked for a higher chargeback considering the actual package rate of those 4 lessons). Leigh has tried to fall back on the assertion that his standard lesson rate is $75/hr, that I am "severely undervaluing" his time / worth - yet he was the one who initially offered and pressed me to sign up for a 10-lesson package for $200 during my first ever Groupon lesson with him (lesson 1 of 3 from the Groupon deals he regularly runs). In retrospect, I made a grave mistake by assuming the quality of that first Groupon lesson would carry over to future lessons - and Leigh and I settled on a 1-year package w/ 35, 1-hr lessons + 2 on-course lessons. Again, I received only 4 of those 1-hr lessons in a 2-month period. At that rate, I knew I would never get the remainder of the lessons in a reasonable period. And I would lose any claim at a refund from my CC company after a certain period of time - not to mention that money would be better used to take lessons somewhere else. I have proof of all of this and Leigh's defensiveness and unwillingness to compromise. Out of respect for Leigh's privacy, I'm not going to post the texts or other documentation that clearly support my case - but I have already shared this with my CC company who have since already ruled in favor of my recount of this experience. They shared Leigh's written rebuttal to the chargeback - which, just like Leigh's reply on this review, lacked any substantial evidence whatsoever. Leigh reply only further highlights his defensive nature and inability to admit there are clear problems with his business. This is unfortunate, because I even tried to help him by sharing technology solutions (e.g., auto-syncing lesson videos to Google Drive so he doesn't have to do this manually - an issue you can find in other reviews - as well as scheduling tool options). As a final word: The prices of the Groupon packages are incredibly enticing. You will not find a cheaper rate for golf lessons in the Bay Area. But please consider this review carefully - especially if you are considering a longer-term lesson package.

I originally came in with the intention of buying a spare ball but after speaking with him, I ended up going with his recommendations to move up to a heavier ball and instead work on manipulating my hand position to shoot my spares. I am happy that I went with his suggestion as I now have a much funner ball to throw (and am still picking up my spares!). He helped evaluate my current ball's measurements and made some slight but very noticeable adjustments. I absolutely love the ball Devin fitted and drilled for me. Don skillfully helped me pinpoint and address this issue, resulting in increased accuracy without sacrificing swing speed. Don's ability to quickly assess my swing and tailor his messages to my style of understanding, whether technical or feel, sets him apart. His wealth of knowledge is evident, yet he knows when to deploy it, ensuring I wasn't overwhelmed with too much information. We worked on several drills (including the glove under the arm shown here) that were easy to take to my own practice outside of our sessions. I highly recommend Don for golfers of any age and skill level; he truly understands how to work with each player's unique characteristics.

I was a bit concern and wasn't sure about pick up and drop off, but it was super easy. I felt drop off/pick up area was safe. I had a bunch of old irons that had very worn grips. I was clueless as to what to get but I felt confident afterwards based on the options I was given. There was zero pressure but with a few questions I was able yo just hold and feel what felt good to me. No doubt I would recommend him again and again!

There is only a few places to get your grips done in this city and it's not going to happen in an hour. Plus the likelihood of it being done the right way are not great. Fed was at my house in 15 mins and had my grip on in 10. He had top of the line tools and equipment in his spaciousness truck to get the old grip off and the new one on perfectly. He is super knowledgeable and has a great background in the Golf Industry. You wont be disappointed

They help you to the best of their ability. I had a problem with the NCGA.org website, and they spent a lot of time trying to help me. They even called their boss to see how to fix the problem. Great customer service. There are a lot of clubs here, but mostly drivers and woods. They sell iron sets as well. However, everything is really expensive. Well after all, golf stuff is expensive. You can probably find better prices online or at other stores though. Look at the preowned clubs. They are the best deals in the whole store. Preowned clubs are in good condition, and work great. Plus at a huge price difference. Good savings if you get a preowned. While browsing around their selection of drivers, I see the employees helping out customers. They are really helpful and listen to exactly what they need. They try to reccomend what they think will help. Overall Great customer service, but prices at the shop are a little high.

The best feature they have are 2 fitting/hitting bays with a Trackman and every club under the sun where you can hit FULL Outdoor shot. This is a big deal so you can see 100% of the ball flight. If you want new equipment, book a fitting appointment, and go there. Also Berne Finch is both an excellent fitter and instructor if you need help with your game.
