1-Star Review Do not trust this business -- awful experience with engine replacement AND used cars I originally went to Shorty's to buy a used car in cash, but the owner talked me into replacing the engine in my current car instead (2015 Dodge Journey). He claimed he could get a refurbished engine at a discount through his commercial account, and quoted $3,100 for the engine and $2,200 for installation. At first, it all sounded legit. But after paying, I quickly realized how shady it really was. * He only gave handwritten paper receipts * No engine documentation * No warranty paperwork * No breakdown of the labor * The mechanics refused to speak to me, saying I had to talk to him directly * And when I asked how they priced the job without even inspecting my car, I got NO answers Every time I asked for clarity, I was told to "relax" -- and then he started communicating only with my fiancé. At one point, he literally told him: "Don't let her get in your head." Excuse me? I'm the one paying. I'm allowed to ask questions. When I asked for a refund, he flat-out refused until I mentioned taking him to court -- then he suddenly said he'd refund some of it, but keep 25%, which was NEVER mentioned before and isn't in any written agreement. And let's be clear -- I've since learned this isn't just about repairs. His used cars are known to break down just months after purchase, according to other people who've dealt with him. I've filed a complaint with the Delaware DOJ Consumer Protection Unit and will be pursuing legal action. This business is not trustworthy, and families deserve better. DO NOT go to Shorty's for repairs, used cars, or anything else beyond a basic car wash. read more

I bought a 2011 chevy hhr from here 04/23 don't feel as though I got a lemon I'm still driving the car and haven't had any issues with it other than needing new tires also was able to give me another tag when mine expired until I could get my registration done so I would recommend this to anyone at the time I was looking for cars everybody want five and six thousand dollars for cars with over 200,000 miles on it and this one only had 128,000 and I didn't even pay 3,000 for it so I would give them five stars and definitely recommend them to anyone read more

Just recently got two of my cars detailed here upon picking up my cars I realized one car had full service done with some thing's still missing and the other car they did not even try to detail. They just wipe things and didn't even try to get any marks out didn't try to wipe down half of the dust in the car doesn't even look like it was detailed not to mention upon going through my belongings that were left in the vehicle. Several things have gone missing and when you try to contact them, no one answers the phone. I've been trying to call them for a week straight now with no response! I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Affectionately known to all as simply "Shorty," the man is a giant to the young and old who wxperience issues with their vehicle or if they need to purchase a vehicle. Not happy. They told me my car was going to be ready in 3 hours and it ended up taking the entire day. Basically ruining my plans for the latter part of the day. Also. Look at the lack of quality. Looks like they only applied protectant to only half the side of my seats. You can see the over spray as well. read more

Ended up here because of a Groupon. Hard to spot from the road. No sign. Hard to tell who works here and who's just hangin out. HOWEVER, detailing work was superb and inexpensive. I've never seen my car this clean including when I purchased it. Set aside plenty of time to wait in a folding chair in the back by the bushes- one car takes at least 45-60 minutes for inside and outside detailing. Worth the wait for the cost IMO. read more

Called several auto repair shops to see if anyone would take a look to determine if car was safe to drive home to NJ SHORTY was nice enough to stay after hours until she got there. This place is anything but detailing and Tents they are horrible they sell a bunch of used cars that don't work right there are a bunch of lemons they're selling a whole lot of used cars that are damaged engine transmission electrical problems you name it a bunch of con artists with Jack leg mechanics and empty promises I urge you people to stay away from this location if you have any self-respect or dignity they can detail a fly they use the cheapest materials out bear witness to this I've seen them detail a car and they use the cheapest materials they could possibly find swirls all into the paint a bunch of inexperienced people working there all you have to do is pull up a chair and watch them work they don't change the pads they're just a bunch of con artist and get overs this is not a good place to do business if you're looking for a decent vehicle or a place to wash your car go to a more reputable business I don't know where they got the three stars from it must have been family and friends because I would never ever give them a good Mark these people are absolutely horrible the guy named Frank sold my daughter a vehicle and it's just been down Hills every since then gave me the runaround had a mechanic in there that was a drug addict I caught him smoking drugs and I was just shocked by what I saw there's an illegal business going on there and I'm so pissed off at them I don't know what to do suddenly a $2,500 vehicle became a $4,500 vehicle because of all of the repairs so you see folks when you cut corners and deal with people like this you end up with a high bill that you never anticipated in the first place this place needs to be looked into cuz I don't think they have a license for selling Vehicles there they're telling everybody that this is a detailing shop but they have a lot of used broken down vehicles that they're selling to the public and I mean over a hundred vehicles on that lot these people need to be shut down immediately read more

I purchase a complete detailing and waited five hours to have completed and they did a piss poor job. All of my inside windows where clean with a dirty rag. $99.00 for complete detail and got the deal at Groupon for $50.00 it was total waste of time and money. read more

This is my second time here. The first time my car was attended to right away, but this time I had to wait awhile. However, the staff here is extremely friendly, accommodating, and apologetic about the wait, and my was left looking great after a detailing I bought from Groupon. Complete GARBAGE of a business. Do NOT waste your money, even with a Groupon. First, they lie to you and tell you that you need to pay $25 more than the fine print. Next, they do a complete trash job of actually washing your vehicle, they didn't even wash my truck bed and missed the entire back window. They leave streaks and splotches all on the paint. They overspray the entire interior, leaving streaks and smudges of grease on everything. They didn't bother to vacuum under the seats or even try to lift the back seats up. When I confronted them about ALL of these issues, they said they were happy with the outcome and shrugged it off. I would have been better off paying my 8 year old neighbor to clean my truck rather than these clowns. Please do not waste your time or money on this company, they only leave you with more work than you started with. read more

Although everyone was polite and friendly, I was disappointed with my "full auto detail" that I bought. The inside was done great, but the outside was just a car wash. I was told there would be a hand wash and wax, but no wax was applied and the minor nail scratching under the door know were never touched and I was told there is nothing to be done to get scratches off a car. My "an hour or hour and a half" time frame was over three hours. read more
