I recently purchased a 2021 Sonata from your Rome Hyundai dealership. It was not a pleasant experience, and it left a very negative perception of your business to me as a customer. I got the deal that I intended upon entering, but the customer service left a very sour taste. Please allow me to start with the positive aspects. First, Pam Lewis, Brock Scheidl Brian in service and Alondrae Lloyd were the keys reasons that I did not walk away from this deal before closing it. I've been searching for this car online for months. I honestly feel like Shottenkirk had the best certified deal in the state, with the low miles and great Carfax information. It was exactly what I had been searching for. We had some hiccups when I looked at the car during the test drive, but you're your team that I previously mentioned rectified the situation. I am now very satisfied with the car. Thank you for that. ​Now, to the negative aspects. I was assigned salesperson, Jason Vasser. He was one of the worst salespeople I have ever encountered. I have been purchasing cars since I was sixteen years old and I am now over forty. He attempted to sell me the car without giving me his contact information. His communication was cloaked and conflicting. His demeanor lacked integrity. I was unable to speak with him for almost a week and when I finally did, it was following my contact with the general sales manager. Even after speaking with him, he did not make himself available for contact. I had to reach out to him constantly and consistently, but he did not respond. After the car was delivered to me in Atlanta, he did not follow up to see if the deal was completed to my satisfaction as his customer. In summary, I have seen a couple of great deals on your lot for both of my sisters. They too are currently in the market for certified preowned Hyundais. Our family has several, but I plan to NEVER do business with this dealership again. My concern is that they may end up with Mr. Vasser as their salesperson, and I would not dare put my family in that situation. I would like to suggest that this gentleman be retrained in customer service or he will be a definite detriment to your business. Thank you for your time. read more

Shittonkirk is a joke, please avoid them at all costs. They insist you go inside before viewing their inventory to ask you a series of questions about what your looking for in a vehicle but then bring a completely different vehicle as if they weren't listening. They will try to sell you damaged inventory and pass it off with paint markers and clean carfaxs. If you do decide to buy please double check their numbers because they will over charge you. Their prices do not match the ones they posted online. Their financial department is only there to sell you their warranty not to mention who your actually financed through or GAP insurance. I purchased a CPO 2024 Hyundai Palisade 2 weeks ago and the check engine light has come on 3 times already. They replaced the fuel injectors the first time and did absolutely nothing the second time (paperwork advised cleared code and drove for 80 miles check engine light did not come back on so car is fine) I have explained that the car is stalling. The car will be going 65mph one minute then when going up hills with the petal to the metal rpms remaining at 2rpms but car slows down to 25mph and struggles to gain speed. When coming to a red light the auto stop will engage and when releasing the brakes the car will give you whip blash however they advise the car is fine. Ive owned the car for 2 weeks and 4 days and the check engine light is back on for the third time. The last time my car was in their shop I got it back with an unknown greasy chemical sprayed all over the driver side back glass and fuel lid that will not come off. Shittonkirk doesnt seem to care that the car they sold and warrantied is placing my family in danger. read more

After Shottenkirk Honda changed the recalled fuel pump in my Honda Pilot, an "Emissions System Problem" warning appeared as soon as I drove it off their lot. I returned to the dealership the same day and explained that this was the first time I had seen this warning, which only appeared after the fuel pump was replaced. I asked them to clear the code, thinking that would resolve the issue. The service technician informed me that the fuel pump might have been installed incorrectly and said they would fix it. I left my Honda Pilot with them, assured that the problem would be resolved. Later, they called to inform me that my purge valve needed to be replaced for $300--and that this issue was completely unrelated to the fuel pump replacement. I explained that the purge valve and fuel pump are indeed connected in the Honda Pilot. I have spoken with other mechanics who wholeheartedly agree that these components are connected. My mechanic cleared the error code, but when it returned, the code indicated an issue with the evaporative control system purge flow. The evaporative control system (EVAP) prevents gasoline vapors from escaping the fuel tank into the atmosphere. The P04F1 code for Honda vehicles indicates that low purge flow has been detected in the evaporative emission system. This system is responsible for controlling and capturing fuel vapors to reduce emissions. The purge valve may wear unevenly and intermittently stick, resulting in a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) related to the evaporative emission system purge flow malfunction. There were no error codes on my car when I gave it to them, and I believe there should be no codes when I get it back. Why do I now have the codes PO4F1 and PO441? However, they are refusing to pay for their mistake. What should I do? read more

Everything. I purchased a vehicle from another dealership due to misleading information provided by Shottenkirk during the sales process. When I discovered an issue with the rearview mirror, I was assured it would be a simple fix. On my first visit to Shottenkirk, I waited over two hours only to be told they hadn't ordered the necessary part and would need to do so. I provided my contact information for updates but received no calls, forcing me to follow up myself. I was then informed they had the correct part, so I scheduled another service appointment. This second visit lasted an hour and a half, only to learn it was a wasted trip as they had ordered the wrong part. Since the transition from Heritage to Shottenkirk, the service quality has noticeably declined. The prolonged waits, lack of communication, and repeated errors have been highly frustrating and suggest unprofessionalism, possibly influenced by our decision to purchase elsewhere. read more

I visited a number of dealerships and test drove several makes and models but was most impressed with the staff and inventory from Shottenkirk Hyundai Rome. Jay, our salesperson, stood in the cold rain with us as we looked at all options. He patiently explained all the various features of each vehicle and helped me find the perfect car for me. The entire purchase process was smooth and the staff ensured we were comfortable and accommodated as we progressed through the day. We met Nick and Cody during the financing portion who were also very patient and answered all questions to ensure we felt comfortable with all decisions. I will recommend this group any day! I had a scheduled appointment due to air conditioning issues. I was there for over 2 hours and they did nothing because they couldn't duplicate the issue. They never checked on me seeing if I needed anything. They have vending machines, no free water no free snacks. Not one person asked if I needed anything. I felt unwelcome. Did not do a diagnostic test to see if it's an electrical issue. Very disappointed in the outcome and service. read more

This dealership should be named Shittenkirk Hyundai of Rome. Their service department is exactly the first 4 letters. They don't answer their phone. They have zero customer service. They don't honor warranty. They are quick to tell you to take you vehicles back to where you purchase them. They really screwed themselves with us. Not only will we be taking our vehicles elsewhere for service and maintenance, we will also be purchasing all of our Hyundai's from Terry Reid Hyundai in Cartersville. Repaired a vehicle for this dealership well over a month ago and we've never been paid. Over $6,000 owed to us and "Rock" and Jeremy are avoiding us everytime we call. Sadly this is what it has come down to. We just want to be paid for work we were asked to do. read more

Second time writing this review, the other one disappeared or was deleted, wouldn't put it past shottenkirk. But stay far away from this Hyundai dealership. The Cartersville Honda location YoYo'd a customer. Now this one the shop has not seen a issue after THREE times to fix it. The first time they just claimed it was a update, ok. The same day it was doing the same transmission issue, the second time they found it was the Transmission, they only replaced the Clutch due to Hyundai USA only allowing that, okay that's fine if it fixes the issue after leaving the car a little over a month. Went two-three months and bam, same issue as before, so we bring it back, it was there another month (mind you this was purchased last July, 2 of the 12 months we owned it it was in the "shop". Next thing we get a call, they couldn't replicate it due to it not throwing any codes, so unless we drive with someone then they won't do anything, didn't even look at the transmission, a month in a loaner for nothing again. The last time they found the transmission issues it was not throwing codes, lo and behold they found it was the transmission during a test not plugging in a reader. 3 times to fix ONE issue and still is unfixed, the car was returned with it STILL doing the same issue. We bought it when it was heritage to avoid shottenkirks shotty practices but as it seems we couldn't escape them. We well be purchasing everything anywhere else but here. It's a shame as this was a great dealership but it has gone down the drain. I'm not the only one either. read more

WORST DEALERSHIP EVER!!! Found a car I wanted online and emailed about availability. Pam McFadden, Internet Sales Coordinator, responded and said vehicle was available. I set up an appointment to see the car. I asked if I needed to place a deposit on the car and she said "I think you'll be fine". She referred me to Jason Vasser, Sales Associate. I called when I got off work to speak with Pam and ask a few more questions about the car. She was gone for the day so I asked for Jason. He was apparently busy. I left a message and never received a return call. I called the next day and asked for Pam. She was off. Asked for Jason, but apparently he was busy again. I even emailed this man and NEVER received a response. I told the gentleman who answered the phone that I wanted to move my appointment up to today. He said he would let Jason know. Again, no response from Jason. After leaving work early just to see this car and speak with someone in person, I drove an hour and a half to this dealership only to find out that they sold the car YESTERDAY!!! This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced!!! I never met or spoke with this Jason person. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. Pam either. She's a liar. Jason's assistant is the one who told me the car sold. She tried showing me other cars on the lot, for a much higher price of course. I wouldn't buy from them EVER!!!! There are a bazillion car dealerships in the state of Georgia. Do yourself a favor and buy from someone else. You can't trust these people. read more
