We would have loved a tour, but they were booked for the day (go early to make sure you get a spot!), but the tasting was a great second option! For $15 you try six wines from their very large list. They'll teach you about each one too. If you like bourbons or whiskey, I'd highly recommend their Cream Sherry - it won 12th best American wine at the Decanter Wold Wine Competition (The world's largest and most influential wine competition) in recent years (just enjoy slowly - it's 19%!!). Also, they make their wines very affordable! From $11-$40, everything is in reach! (They do have a $75 reserve Norton on the list as of May 2026.) You can enjoy the restaurant on site, shop alllll the wine accessories, relax on their patio above the hills of vines, play a game of corn hole, and pose for a few photos. Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

Adam Puchta is on the 7th generation of being owned by the same family. I hope the current kids love their life at the winery! They're constantly considering how to make the experience better for their patrons too - like even planting a cold hardy Verona grape closest to the road for folks to enjoy for photos. They grow many of their own grapes (Verona, Vidal Blanc, Vivant, Vignoles, and Norton), and have satellite vineyards where they grow other varieties such as chambourcin grapes. Our guide was very experienced and took us back to the 1800s, showing how people lived, businesses they started, important events, and how the city became what it is today. They also sell multiple styles of Springerle Molds! I got one which had a cat on it and I love it! Definitely worth doing this tour if you're in Hermann for a few hours or a day.

Our tour guide was the same young man who served as our guide a day eariler at the Daniel Boone home and historic site. He is a recent graduate with a degree in history and again gave a wonderful, informative tour. The Deutschheim State Historic Site includes two historic homes that are part of the tour -- the Pommer-Gentner House (1840) and the Strehly House and Winery (1842). Derek started our tour in the garden behind the visitor's center and then moved into the Pommer House which served as their residence and as their workshop where they manufacturered pianos and other musical instruments. After the Pommer House, we walked down the block to the Strehly House and Winery. These were originally two separate buildings that were later connected into a single building. The residental portion of the structure was well-perserved. We had a tour of the winery section and a newpaper/printing area in the basement. Derek was quite knowledgable and very informative. He seemed to be enthused about his job and tried answering any questions we posed. The Deutschheim State Historic Site was about a 75-90 minute drive from Chesterfield, MO but it was well worth the visit.

There are discussions about the mental side of wrestling- often forgotten about, how techniques can conquer all, nutrition and weights/cardio, and the honest truth that wrestling is hard and a grind and is not for everyone- you, the wrestler, need to want it - it is not the coach or the parent (although they are important to support the wrestler). It really helped my son to focus on his goals and how he can obtain them. 5 stars is not enough for Purler

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I had to fly my son home early from this nasty,…read moredirty camp because he was absolutely covered in a rash all over his entire body. The coaches kept advising him to keep wrestling and told him it wasn't a big deal. Thank goodness he was more of an adult and knew it was not ok. The night he arrived home, I immediately brought him to the ER. He was diagnosed with staph, hand/foot/mouth and shingles! He has scars on his arms that he now has to live with for the rest of his life because of the irresponsible "adults" and "coaches" at this camp! GROSS! Do not ever send your child to this camp!!! Also, we have been in touch with the kids my son wrestled and they were diagnosed with all of the above AND Covid!
