Shoutout to Nathan!! He is one of Stone Hill's owners and caught us a few times in the main shop to…read moretell us more about their exquisite research, testing, creation, farming, and winemaking processes! If you're looking for a winemaking family who is passionate about the details - down to the genetics and ancestors of their grapes - then look no further! We would have loved a tour, but they were booked for the day (go early to make sure you get a spot!), but the tasting was a great second option! For $15 you try six wines from their very large list. They'll teach you about each one too. If you like bourbons or whiskey, I'd highly recommend their Cream Sherry - it won 12th best American wine at the Decanter Wold Wine Competition (The world's largest and most influential wine competition) in recent years (just enjoy slowly - it's 19%!!). Also, they make their wines very affordable! From $11-$40, everything is in reach! (They do have a $75 reserve Norton on the list as of May 2026.) You can enjoy the restaurant on site, shop alllll the wine accessories, relax on their patio above the hills of vines, play a game of corn hole, and pose for a few photos. They've been continuously farming (taking a break from wine only during prohibition) for 179 years! You won't regret a visit if you enjoy wine!

I visited Stone Hill Winery yesterday, and while the property is beautiful, the service was…read moreextremely disappointing. When we walked in, we weren't greeted at all. Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

Disappointing Experience and Poor Coordination Our…read moreexperience with Renaissance Wine Garden was deeply disappointing. John and Simeen Cook, the owners, do not seem to communicate with each other, and that lack of coordination falls directly onto couples trying to plan their wedding. John made several promises during the tour, only to disappear afterward, and Simeen seemed unaware of everything he had committed to. Instead of working as a team, they left us feeling like their only priority was themselves, not the couple or the event. For the price, you receive nothing beyond access to the space. There is no help with setup, decorating, or teardown. Every small detail--neon signs, firepit, draping--comes with an additional charge. Access to the venue is extremely limited: ceremony site and suites at 3pm, reception area not until 6pm, and guests cannot enter until 6:30pm. By the time dinner, cake, and toasts are done, you're left with barely two hours of dancing before everything must end at 10pm, despite the contract stating 11pm. The final hour is reserved for you to clean up because the venue provides no assistance. We were even told we could access the reception area slightly early, but only if it didn't "look like setting up," because customers were present. It was uncomfortable and unwelcoming, even though we were paying to be there. The bar was another point of confusion--Simeen couldn't clearly explain how it worked. They also advertise onsite catering for groups under 75, yet discouraged us from using it and pushed us toward outside catering instead. Overall, this venue forces couples to hire additional help for everything, driving costs far beyond what most budgets allow. The lack of flexibility, support, and professionalism caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for both the bride and her mother. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding. Due to all the additional stress my daughter had to go find another venue and I have not received any of my deposit back as of yet. The wedding event was 5 months from the date of cancellation.
