We enjoyed the view of this winery. As far as the setup for getting wine or other beverages: it was a bit chaotic and a little disorganized. Food was outside with just a couple of options. We had the pizza, which was good. We did a wine tasting and did get a bottle to share while we were there overlooking part of Hermann, but their wine didn't impress me much. We may go back for the atmosphere when we're in town.

This place has the kind of driveway that makes you question what you're going to find at the end, but actually it's picture-perfect! It's got great views of the river, ample seating, and the staff are super friendly! I went on a slower Sunday with a group of lady friends, and we had a blast. We all did the sample flight first, which was awesome, because otherwise I would've made a poor choice in what I thought I wanted. They've got a great selection of wines, and we brought our lunch from the deli in town. I will absolutely be coming back!

This was our last stop of the day and definitely the way to finish out a fun day of touring wineries. The wines are just okay. Not the greatest but at least drinkable. The nice thing is that they offer mixed drinks and beer so you can enjoy something other than their wines. The view and the Saturday night live music is what you come here for. Saturday nights are a hoot! Bring a few snacks, buy a pizza and a tub of beer and enjoy the festivities. You'll make new friends here for sure. I'll definitely come back next time I visit Hermann.

I'm giving it two stars because they have good views and are server was super friendly Probably some of the worst wine I ever had and definitely the most disgusting sangria ever made And the only place I've ever seen were you sample out of plastic Tylenol cups

I do not like wine tasting out of this cup!

Not for me. The grounds here are huge with plenty of space for large parties. It looks out over the river. There was a guy setting up to play music which would be nice on a cool evening. There's a full bar which makes it a great spot for bachelorette parties. Personally I prefer wineries that have wine only and less "stuff" around. I was a bit visually overwhelmed in the tasting room with the decor and items for sale. Tastings are served in small cups and I wasn't a fan of that either. I prefer proper tasting glasses. I've spent years wine tasting and a lot of money on good wines. I dumped all of my wines. Again this is ideal for large parties or a party vibe.

Honestly, this place is only worth the view. It has a expansive deck with the most gorgeous view of the river. But the positives end there. The wine tastings were 6 for $6 and were less than impressive. Everything we tried tasted like a 2 buck chuck from Trader Joe's. Nothing special. What I thought was also weird was that they serve the samples in little medicine cups. I don't know if it's a way to save money but it looks cheap. The ladys behind the bar were nice but had no knowledge of wine. My husband asked one of them which wine tastes most like a Chianti and they both said "I've never heard of that before". Really? Okay. I will say though, their sangria was AMAZING. The only bright spot besides the view.

The deck, featuring some of the most amazing people watching EVER!

As Jean P mentioned, the deck has an amazing view. We went last summer on a Saturday night. We got some wine, grabbed a spot at a table, and enjoyed an amazing show. More on that in a second... This place is hidden away pretty well. Luckily, we had some locals with us to guide the way. It is up a narrow gravel road that feels like it is carved into the side of a mountain. And of course, this is perfect after a long visit and multiple bottles of wine. As we approached the top of the hill, there was a guy there collecting a cover charge for the entire car. I have to admit that this is ingenius. At a bar, you can peek your head in and see how hopping the place is before paying, but there was absolutely no way to do this on the mountain road. We arrived and it was a little early. We went inside to taste some wine. For all of you wine snobs out there, stay as far away as possible. The wine reminds me of grape juice that sat out on the counter for too long and started developing some crud at the bottom. I couldn't really find any that I liked, but I settled for one that was bearable. We had paid our cover and I wasn't going to leave without seeing the band. And I wasn't going to sit there drinking Sprite. At this point, you might be asking yourself why I gave it a 3 star review. And i have to admit that I am asking myself this same question, but I definitely think it deserves 3 stars and for one reason only.... The people watching. This is the best people watching in all of Missouri. I have visited the entire state and never had so much fun watching people as I did that night. Be sure to visit in the summer at the height of wedding season. On the night we went, there must have been 10 bachelorette parties there. Ok, I feel like I am about to go too far and am being too mean so I am going to stop there before I describe some of the scenes I saw that night. The band did a good job and the crowd obviously enjoyed their performance and the time they were having on the deck. I wouldn't mind going back to see the sights.

Skip this winery on your tour if you are serious about your wines. Everything here is hastily made and super sugary and syrupy. The view is beautiful but that alone cannot convince me to sit here and share of a bottle of OakGlenn table red. The tasting here is not free unlike most other Hermann wineries. So if you have a few days to spend in Hermann, by all means come check out Oak Glenn. But if you are here for a day, tell your trolley driver thanks but no thanks.

My favorite winery in Hermann. The wine is a bit pricier than the other wineries, but if you like sweet wine with a beautiful view of the hillside this is the place for you. Temptation is my favorite!!

If you're looking for a winemaking family who is passionate about the details - down to the genetics and ancestors of their grapes - then look no further! We would have loved a tour, but they were booked for the day (go early to make sure you get a spot!), but the tasting was a great second option! For $15 you try six wines from their very large list. They'll teach you about each one too. If you like bourbons or whiskey, I'd highly recommend their Cream Sherry - it won 12th best American wine at the Decanter Wold Wine Competition (The world's largest and most influential wine competition) in recent years (just enjoy slowly - it's 19%!!). Also, they make their wines very affordable! From $11-$40, everything is in reach! (They do have a $75 reserve Norton on the list as of May 2026.) You can enjoy the restaurant on site, shop alllll the wine accessories, relax on their patio above the hills of vines, play a game of corn hole, and pose for a few photos. They've been continuously farming (taking a break from wine only during prohibition) for 179 years! You won't regret a visit if you enjoy wine!

Several other couples who arrived around the same time were welcomed immediately, but we were left standing there without any acknowledgment. It was uncomfortable and made us feel overlooked in a way no quest should experience. I can't say why we were treated differently, but the contrast was hard to ignore. Because of the lack of attention, we ended up buying only a few bottles- even though we originally planned to purchase two full cases. We also chose not to buy anything from the stores afterward, which is unusual for us, but the experience at the beginning made it difficult to fully appreciate the visit. For a winery with such a strong reputation, I expected a much more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This was a one- star experience for us, and we won't be returning.

It was also pouring unexpectedly but that's no ones fault, obviously. The venue was clean but acoustics does make average conversation sound loud that I had trouble hearing the person next to me or the bartenders. I did the non reserve wine sampling which allotted 5 samples for $10. Many of which were made on property with Missouri wines and some west coast offerings. I tend to go for sweeter wines and found my selection to be quite palatable with two standouts as my favorite with the Schitts and Giggles and Lauren's Sweet Vignoles. I really would've preferred the tasting to be separate from the big room and more intimate as to learn more about the wine. Once poured, I was largely left alone standing at the bar where they only offer the sampling and so I felt a little awkward. One gentleman poured rather large portions while the other gave the appropriate amount. A water chaser would've been ideal between both to cleanse the palate. I do think a more intimate setting for sampling is preferred so I am not competing with the rest of the room and I am able to ask questions. The bartenders poured and left and you were on your own!

We did notice the signage when walking in that there were no wine tastings in the bar area. This was different than we were used to but we did learn that you can reserve wines tastings which is something we are open to in the future. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and both spaces were wonderful. We chose to sit outdoors but under the covered part of the patio since it was really warm outside. Our server was very helpful, especially with the wine choices since we were unfamiliar. All of us created our own wine flights. The pizza came highly recommended as well. For lunch we ordered the truffle fries, Smoked chicken wings, and Figgy Smalls pizza (with prosciutto only on half). The truffle fries were just ok. I honestly could not taste much of the truffle seasoning. We really enjoyed the Smoked chicken wings and the Figgy Smalls Pizza which I highly recommended. Our friends had the Vineyard mixed green salad with grilled shrimp and Pizza the Hut. They enjoyed their food as well. The only issue was the timing. The pizza did not come out at the same time as the other food. In fact it took quite a bit of time to get them. They were definitely worth it but it leaves part of your party eating so their food doesn't get cold while the others are waiting. We also enjoyed the live music while there. I look forward to trying more in the future.

However you're in the middle of Missouri where grapes don't generate like traditional regions, and palettes are different. So if you're familiar with wineries and good wine this will be quaint but not your place. This is more of an event space with wine as an afterthought as evidenced by the gaggle of sororities and moms funneling in all day. Frankly, I was appalled at the event I attended for my daughters sorority. Everyone bought a $25 bottle of sweet or semi-sweet wine (that's this wineries specialty), dropped in a straw, and suckled their sippy cups. Their sweet wines are like wine coolers - and what college student doesn't like those? That should give context to the quality of wine and positioning of this space). Their traditional varietals all have sweet or fruit forward notes - Cabs are more like Pinots but lacking the depth and notes of a true spicy, bold cab. Past this, parking is like a festival, down a dirt road about a quarter mile walk from the front door. While I wouldn't return, it's a great place for an event and provides something unique to the area. And obviously the Greek system utilizes as a more sophisticated approach to the bars in Columbia.
