I purchased a high mileage Jeep Wrangler after being given the sales pitch including the 100+ service check with the Jeep having been given a pass / green check for any transmission issues / leaks. I trailered the Jeep home only to find an active leak which was found to be the rear main seal needing replacement. Contacted Show Me Auto Mall only to be told it must have passed inspection and that it was sold "as is". Long story short: -Do I think I went home with a decent vehicle at a decent price? Yes. -[[HIGHLIGHT]]Would I shop here ever again? No[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Long story long: They had a vehicle we were interested, it was clean, looked well maintained, good carfax. We showed up, and the vehicle was in similar condition as pictured online. However, when we began talking numbers, that's when things really began going downhill. I made an offer and after 15 minutes the salesman came back with a new price that was over $5,000 more than the list price online. That number included $1799 for nitrogen filled tires, door guards, and a low level of theft protection. By my estimate, maybe a couple hundred dollars in value if any of that means anything to you in the first place. That price also included another $1799 for any two of a list of options, none of which would come near $1800 in value. The list included things like window tint, a light bar, Apple car play install, etc. The next fee was $1000 for not financing through them for the vehicle. If you choose not to finance with them, they will attempt to place another $1,000 on top of the list price. Finally, a $599 doc fee rounded out the $5,197 addition to the list price. The salesman claimed that the doc fee was Missouri state mandated and non-negotiable. This is not true. While every dealer may have some sort of administrative fee, it is not Missouri law that it must be $599 or non-negotiable. After I disputed the bogus fees the salesman came back with a made up copy of the Kelly Blue Book value of the vehicle I was interested in. Little did they know, I had already pulled the report using the VIN and vehicle condition. Their made up number was several thousand dollars higher than the number kbb.com gave me. The sheet they handed me was not a screen shot, it was not straight from KBB, it looked like a poorly written Word document meant to fool unprepared customers. I should have walked out by now, but I had confidence that the vehicle, regardless of the shady dealership practices, was a good option for us. Anyways, negotiations continued and we finally came to a number. They said they'd agree under one condition: That I would leave five 5-Star reviews on various platforms. I, again, confronted their questionable tactics. I do not believe a deal should be dependent me leaving good reviews, especially as the buying process was not complete yet. They were attempting to buy or bribe good reviews and my morals did not agree with that. Again, should have walked away then. We proceeded to paperwork and it wasn't long before they tried to get me to sign a document stating that I have read and understood two additional documents that I had not, in fact, shown me yet. I politely questioned if I could see those before signing and received a response as if I was being ridiculous. Why would anyone sign something saying that they have received and read something if they had not yet. Especially in a slurry of legal documents around a used vehicle at a dealership that has already shown me how deceptive they are. I refused to sign until I saw those documents. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The salesman moved forward but the same issue was presented when we got to the finance person. He was persistent that I needed to sign the sheet saying I had read and understood two documents that I had not been provided yet. For whatever reason they were dead set on me signing. Again, I refused. Again, I received backlash. BUYER BEWARE -- A NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH On April 22, 2025, I purchased a BMW SUV from Show Me Auto Mall in Harrisonville, Missouri, and it has been an absolute nightmare ever since. We scheduled an appointment and made it clear that we only had $500 for a down payment. After submitting a credit application (which we were told looked good), we received a call just hours before the appointment stating they now needed $2,000 down. After going back and forth, we agreed to $1,200. When we arrived, the vehicle was backed into a spot up front and ready for a test drive -- but with multiple dash warning lights on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The salesman (who was extremely obnoxious and cocky) claimed it was just a wheel sensor on order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During the test drive, we noticed a cracked windshield and etched marks deep into the windshield caused by rotted wiper blades. We were initially told "no" on replacing the windshield, so we began to walk away. The salesman went inside and then came back out quickly and said they would replace the windshield and wipers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When signing paperwork, it was a struggle to get the dealership to document these promised repairs. The finance manager was rude and condescending, adding to our concerns about the entire purchase process.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once paperwork was signed, we were told to take the vehicle home, but were then told we couldn't due to the sensor still being out. We handed the keys back and waited over a week for promised repairs. On April 29, we arrived to pick the car up and it was brought around from Service and backed into a soot again and it was found that the wipers hadn't been changed. We had to ask again for this to be done. After leaving we went across street to Walamrt and upon backing out of parking space I noticed odd noises while reversing. I had my ex husband get in and test back it out and he stated it may be breaks and to keep an eye on it. I took it home and parked it in garage where it stayed for a few days and then found it became worse upon backing out of garage. On May 1st On May 2, I took it to Baron BMW and paid over $100 for a professional assessment. That assessment revealed over $7,800 in needed repairs, including the front differential and motor mounts -- on a car I paid $9,900 for. I also found that someone had "repaired" a broken interior door handle with black tar-like goo, which ruined my clothing. I returned the vehicle to Show Me Auto Mall. After over a week and a half, they agreed to replace the motor mounts and install a refurbished differential (not a new one like BMW recommended). They did not repair the door handle. When I picked the car up again on May 12, the A/C wasn't working and the door handle was still broken. I had to leave it again. They later claimed the A/C just needed Freon. Now, just a week after finally having it home, the vehicle is leaking coolant in my garage. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The time, money, and energy lost trying to chase down repairs -- not to mention the deception, lack of professionalism, and poor customer service -- have made this experience one of the worst I've ever had.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even their own service manager admitted this vehicle should have never been put up for sale. I went to the used car lot wanting to trade-in my current car for something cheaper, but nicer as well. I found a used SUV with high mileage, but other than that an amazing find. While I spent more than I wanted in total with the extended warranty purchase-it was worth it in the long run. I love my new vehicle! It needs some minor cosmetic fix ups-but it runs great/looks great/feels great! There is a fee they add in that's mandatory that raises the cars actual sale price a 1000+ higher than the sale price of the car-so be sure to ask about it and save for it when planning to buy from them or haggle for a lower selling price of the vehicle. My husband had been wanting a Hellcat forever! He found one here and decided he wanted to test drive it trade in his car and purchase the Hellcat. Nick was the salesman who was new at the dealership. I wished I would have joined my husband as I have more experience with purchasing cars. We found out the front tires were running on "cords" and needed to be replaced immediately for safety concerns. We ordered Continental tires at our service shop we always use. We received a phone call not long after dropping the car off and the mechanic asked us where the locking logout was to get the tires/wheels off. My husband said there was a lugnut in the center console. Well, it was JUST a lugnut and not the unlocking one. We then take the car to the local Dodge dealership and spend $140 for the mechanic to find the universal locking lugnut in order to get the tires replaced. Also, the car only came with one key (the black key) and has a "red" key as well which we never received. We returned to the Dodge dealershop nearby once again and had the "red" key ordered. The key was approximately $350 and then programming it to the car, another $100! All in all, we had to spend an additional $1200+. I guess that's what we get for buying a Hellcat at this place after the dealership buys it from an auto auction. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Please make sure everything you need comes with the vehicle you may want to purchase.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I called to insure it, my insurance agent stated they don't usually insure the SRT Hellcat!! My heart dropped! I explained to her my husband is pushing 60 years old, has had no speeding tickets or accidents. The insurance underwriter approved us for coverage. WHEW! First off beware because their pricing on line is only if your finance through them. This was told to us after my son drove the car and liked it. Price went up by almost 5,000 so we were ready to walk. They finally came down to a reasonable price even thought it was over the listed price on line. They said they have disclaimer in the small print. I've never left a review before, let alone a negative one, but after a month of back and forth with my salesperson, I just want to say: beware. I made an appointment same day to look at a specific car. An hour later when I get to my appointment, that car is unavailable because the engine failed. Okay, fine. My salesperson, Terry, pulls another car for me (above my price range, but again, fine. I get it, trying to make a sale.) The actual reason for this review is because I had put an overnight-hold deposit on a car so I could think about it. I felt very rushed and wanted to take some time. Not even 24 hours later I had called and told them thank you but I would not be buying with them. I was assured this was fully refundable. It's been a month and I have not gotten my deposit back. I have also not been able to contact my salesperson for 2 weeks. I've called multiple times and emailed, no response. One of the phone numbers Terry gave me does not have a voicemail set up, and the other is possibly out of service? I couldn't directly get through to him during regular business hours with either. (Though he had plenty of time to call and text me during my workday on the day I tried canceling my deposit, telling me his finance guy could come down more for this car if I would just call him back.) Listen, if deposit is in fact nonrefundable, I would have appreciated being told. But I was assured at the time in person and for the next week of phone-tag that they would do everything in their power to follow through on getting me my $200 back. Lesson learned, I guess. Especially if you're a young woman and/or first time car buyer, I would not recommend this place. I was told by the owner of the son who is a salesman that they didn't have to sell me the vehicle if I didn't buy an upsell of a service that they provide for nitrogen air and seals and then when I go to take my car in for service for my seals because I had a water leak that leaked into my floorboard and caused mold, I was told an entirely different story compared to what a Ford technician told me was wrong with my seals and then they told me that they didn't see an issue with the seals, even though they are peeling up And paid $100 for nothing even though it's supposed to be a service that they provided it wasn't supposed to be diagnosed. Go to a reputable dealership! Don't go here! We drove 10 hours with the intention of buying a car that they lied about on their website. Red flag#1: took the salesman 10 minutes just to put the car on the lot, red flag#2: no extra key fob (which are about $500 each), red flag #3: the windows were blacked out with a limo tint (which is illegal), red flag#4: the frame on the front bumper was bent, and red flag#5: the car wasn't detailed at all when I specifically asked them to before I got there. So I called ahead and specifically asked if I had to buy anything, or if there was any other catch or fine print that I needed to be aware of before I drove the 40 minutes to their location. And they were very clear that there was no other steps. I just show up and get the TV. When I get there, the owner comes up with a piece of paper and says your number at the bottom of the mailer has to match the number on this piece of paper. And the look on his face automatically said that he knew it wouldn't match. And it didn't. When I asked why that wasn't clarified when I called, he just shrugged and said they didn't need to tell me. Because buried in the fine print, on the back, it said the numbers had to match their board too. Yet when I called, the person at the dealership said that as long as the numbers on my page match, that's all. The damn thing is that me and my wife have been talking about buying a minivan for over 6 months. We've just been waiting for the right opportunity. This seemed like it, a sign. And I walked in there ready to drop 50% cash on a 2018 minivan they have listed. I would never give these guys a cent of your money, or a second of your time. Because they will openly lie to you about anything and then say "You could have read the fine print". Drove an hour each way to get there and when we arrived at our appointment time, we were told that the truck was not available and was "at the body shop" The salesman immediately began trying to show us more expensive vehicles. The following day I emailed again asking about the truck I was interested in looking at and received no response. I later emailed the dealership again and raised some concerns that they are practicing unethical advertising practices ( air and switch tactics) and again, no response. I can't imagine a worse experience buying a car. In short, please be careful purchasing a car with this dealership and be sure to double check all your paperwork and what your salesman is telling you. I would not, for a minute, trust this dealership. My experience began on a Saturday morning when pulling into the car lot. My salesman lied to me about another truck I told him I was looking at in Blue Springs, MO. He told me "he had been in a competition with a customer between his truck and that truck and the customer decided to go with the other truck." I didn't fully believe this and thought it was a salesman trying to sell a vehicle. I found a truck on this lot that I truly liked but I still went to look at truck #2. I decided I liked the truck at Show me better and wanted to see if they would make me a deal I couldn't refuse. The salesman and I talked for a while and we agreed on a deal that I liked. At this point, I had not ran my credit, so I wanted to know what the interest rate they were basing this deal off was so I could gauge whether or not my credit would be within the range. I knew it would easily so I decided to take the deal. I began paperwork with a different salesman who went through everything with me because the first salesman had left. She gave me a window sticker that stated the vehicle was sold "As Is With No Warranty" I told her that my previous salesmen told me that all Show Me Auto vehicles come with a 3 month 3,000 mile warranty. She said "As long as you don't sign your warranty rejection form, you will receive your warranty." This was a major mistake on my part, I should have made them change it then, however, I decided to trust the integrity of the establishment (HUGE MISTAKE). Two and a half hours later I make it into the finance office. The deal the finance guy had on his computer was no where near the deal we agreed upon with the salesman. This was very frustrating. The finance guy then stated it was because they hadn't ran my credit and they didn't have an accurate interest rate. This could be possible, however, the interest rate I was receiving was BELOW the estimated rate. Therefor, it doesn't really make much sense. I told them I would not be signing to buy the car unless it was the agreed upon deal. This part was a hassle and took around 25 minutes. Finally, we got the deal done and I drove the truck home. Five days later, I receive a call saying I forgot to fill out a form. After calling they told me the form that wasn't filled out was the warranty rejection form. The finance guy told me that I had a better warranty but he couldn't show me the paperwork for the better warranty until I had submitted my warranty rejection form. This was a complete lie and by definition, is FRAUD. He then proceeded to come up with four different reasons to why my vehicle didn't come with a warranty, even though the "Show Me Edge" on their website states the following "Best of all, every Show Me Auto Mall vehicle comes with all the benefits of our signature Show Me Edge. Benefits include a free loaner vehicle with authorized repairs, free towing within 30 miles and a free powertrain warranty." They eventually gave me gave me the warranty, this was, however, after they threatened to push the paperwork through without the warranty added. I have been looking for a truck for the last month, I have went to a lot of dealerships until I found the truck I love which happened to be here. Terrible dealership to buy a vehicle from! I begged my husband to go through any other dealership after we first started having a bad experience, but he had to have "that one truck". It all started when my husband found a truck online that he wanted to go look at. The dealership is 3 hours away from where we live, so he called before we all left that morning to make sure the truck was there. They said it was. Two and a half hours into our drive they call him and say, guess what, the truck isn't there. It was near WOF being repaired. We were that close to the dealership, so we decided to drive in anyway to see what else they had. They were rude when we got there. They didn't have anything we liked, so we left. Fast forward to the following week and my husband, NOT the dealership, finds a truck he likes in their inventory (Belton location). He drives to go see it, likes it, but it has a number of issues. The dealer and my husband negotiate, agree to a deal. Truck bought. Fast forward to less than 30 days later...truck's "check engine" light comes on. It has not 1, not 2, but TWENTY-TWO codes on it when read. Many times the same code repeated itself. It was obvious that the dealership reset the codes and didn't do anything to fix before re-selling. They made an agreement with us to reimburse us for the cost of repairs. We get the truck repaired, send them the receipt and they send us a check, for HALF of the amount of the repairs. NOT the agreement, which my husband has text messages to prove. They say that the accounting dept. said they already have too much into the deal, so the best they decided to do was send us a check for half. One, they do nothing to the vehicles that are traded in before they re-sell them. They had our trade-in listed for sale and posted well before our deal was even done. Two, they didn't honor their agreement. Three, they have poor customer service and don't return calls (even their upper management failed to return calls) and they don't have what they say they have, so you may drive 3 hours for nothing. This is BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE buying a car I've ever had, and I've bought 7 different vehicles. I recommend going anywhere else, anywhere else at all. read more

I recently purchased a 2016 Dodge Journey Crossroad from Show-Me Auto Mall in Harrisonville, MO. This was an easy sale because I knew what I wanted and had excellent credit to get it. When discussing purchase details, I said I was concerned about the condition of the tires. The tread seemed poor. I have two children and I have to make sure I have a safe vehicle for transportation. The saleswoman told me since the vehicle had only 19,000 miles, the tires couldn't be worn out yet. I traded in my old 4x4 Honda C-RV (it had been rear ended), and went for this newer Dodge Journey Crossroad, which was front wheel drive. I've had front wheel drive vehicles in the past, so I wasn't too worried, as long as the tires were in good condition. Just after purchasing, we had a snow storm. The vehicle did exceptionally poor in the snow, so I went to have the tires checked out. One tire has an impact bubble and all four tires were recommended to be replaced due to poor tread, as I feared. I contacted my salesperson who seemed surprised to hear about the situation. I told her I loved the vehicle but was disappointed with the performance of the tires, mostly because it was my only concern when I bought the vehicle. She said she spoke with her manager and there was nothing they could do, since the tires passed the inspection prior to the sale. I am now at the tire shop, spending $800 on new tires... for my new vehicle. I'm so disappointed, because I love my new car but I wish I had stuck with my gut on the condition of the tires. It might have been different if I hadn't mentioned it, but I made a point to express my concern about the safety of the tires and it was dismissed. read more

made contact regarding a specific vehicle and its price. After a few emails they were able to lower the price a little bit. The following day the vehicle dropped its price on the Internet lower then the price that they had renegotiate for me. When I inquired about the new lower price, I was told I would not receive that lower price because I was already quoted a price. The price i was quoted was higher then the new advertised price. They told me that the lower price was for special situations on trade ins and in house financing. Very strange and frustrating situation. I will be taking my business else where. Situations like this regarding price makes it very hard to trust a company. I will say they has good email communication with me which i appreciated. read more

NOPE, I am going to end up paying like 14K for this damn car. Pissed to say the least. .....and the service dept thinks that if its not a transmission or engine problem you are the least of their worries. To start service is worthless they don't know the ins and outs of a vehicle took my car in for a check engine light Diag supposivly they fixed it then 3 days later popped back on after spending 140 on the first time then took it back in and now they are quoting me over 800 to do it both times I've got my vehicle back it's been covered in oily hand prints on the inside a least they could do it clean their damn hand prints and cover the 800 to fix right the second time but nope they won't never going their again nothing but issues with my car just wow. Where do I begin with all of the horrible and down right shady things this dealership did when I purchased a vehicle from them? To give some context, I've purchased 3 different vehicles in my lifetime (which may not be a lot), not including from Show Me Automall in Harrisonville, MO and purchasing from Show Me was by far the worst car purchasing experience I have ever undergone. Initially everything was very cordial and they were pleasant to deal with. I was in the market for a full-size pick up truck and I saw one they had listed on Autorader.com. I called their dealership up and spoke with a pleasant woman about that particular truck. She insisted on setting up an appoint for me to look at it. I live 4 hours away, so I set up an appointment for the upcoming Saturday. At this point, everything was fine. Saturday came and I made the 4 hour drive up to Show Me Auotmall in Missouri. When I got there I informed them I was there to see a truck. They pulled it around fairly quickly and I took the truck out for a test drive. I should have seen the red flags when on the test drive, the particular sales agent kept repeating to me how "honest" he was and how he wouldn't rip customers off, because then the dealership wouldn't have repeat business if they did that. This was probably my first clue to bail. The real trouble started when I got back from the test drive. After we got back, I gave the vehicle a walk around and inspection of the engine bay. I noticed the engine bay was missing it's standard plastic cover. When I asked the sales agent about this, he gave me some story about how the service guys were inspecting the vehicle because they just got it and the cover must be in the shop. He ran around the building fairly quickly and then informed me that the shop was closed due to it being the weekend. When I expressed my concern, he offered to drop the price by $100 on the spot. I continued on my inspection and saw several deep gashes on the passenger side door, when I saw this I asked for the Carfax. The sales agent assured me that the truck had not been in an accident, as the car fax reported no accident. I asked how it was possible that the vehicle could have damage on it, without an accident listed on the Carfax. Without skipping a beat, the agent told me that it was possibly not reported and that those kinds of things happen all the time. That was another clue that I should've just bailed. I know now that I should've just left, but since I had driven the 4 hours there, I really felt compelled to buy something so as not to have wasted my whole Saturday. To shorten this story, I went the 2 or 3 hours it took to negotiate a price I was comfortable paying. This was after fighting with the General Manager to get the standard 3,000 mile/3 month used car warranty they claim to offer on every used vehicle they sell. Which they initially refused to do because they claimed they just received the truck and hadn't had time to even inspect it yet. Another major clue that I should have left. So much more stuff happened that I don't have room to write more about, but I'll list: - The sales agent had switched the contract to a 7 year/84 month loan without telling me, when I had stressed that I wanted a 5 year/60 month loan. - After I took the truck to a local mechanic, I was told the engine had been completely replaced with a salvaged engine. The engine that was use came from a vehicle that was 6 years older than the truck I purchased, but I was never told this. - The A/C compressor failed, but I only discovered that after the 3,000 miles/3 month warranty had expired. - The truck started throwing engine codes and I just eventually sold it to CarMax I should've have just listened to my gut and left, but that doesn't change the fact that this dealership engages in shady and deceptive sales tactics and that this remains the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Having to argue with the GM to get the basic warranty they advertise on their website and in-store. Being lied to and belittled by the GM, the Finance Manager and the sales agent. read more

Told him exactly what I wanted and needed to get this vehicle and he made it happen. Once I drove the vehicle and decided to purchase it it took no time at all to sign the papers and be on my way in my new vehicle. STEER CLEAR!! I've been in the market for a 3/4 ton pickup and come across one at Showme Auto Mall. The price and miles were right so after a few phone calls back and forth with a new salesman named Chance I made the 4 hour drive with high hopes of driving home in a different pickup. I arrived and was greeted by Chance and pretty much immediately took the pickup for a test drive before looking it over. Didn't even get off the lot and I was already noticing a noise from the front end and told him that's not right. Got back from the test drive and started looking over the pickup. It was in rough shape. Bumper was tweaked, rust showing through on the body, bad tires, and they even spray painted the frame to hide rust which I noticed on more then just 1 pickup there. I was pretty much turned off of this pickup but they were wanting to talk numbers. They asked if I gave them a list of things I'd want fixed on if we can discuss numbers so I said fine and made a list. We come to agreement on a price with the conditions that the stuff on the list would be fixed and they'd give me X amount of dollars for my trade. I said I want to think on it over night and would let them know first thing the next morning. That wasnt good enough for them. They tried giving me a lower number then what I was told for my trade then asked me if I'd put a $300 deposit down to hold the truck while I slept on it. They said we need to get numbers figured out on both our ends and he'd have to talk to his boss to make sure they can do the work to the pickup and make the numbers work. I was told they'd let me know in a couple days and if it wouldn't work I'd get my deposit back and everything would be in the clear. That was all on a Wednesday night and I never heard anything back until Friday afternoon. I get a phone call saying the pickup is about ready and asking what time I'd be down Saturday to pick it up. They went ahead and proceeded with the work on the pickup, which they weren't fixing everything on the list like they said, and low balled me on my trade without even consulting me like they said they would. Instead of a phone call like most professional salesmen, I get a text saying they can do X dollars and it still wasn't enough. So I said it's not going to work and asked about a refund. Im then told I'm not getting it back because they went back on their word and long story short called me a liar about what was discussed when I was there prior. My advice is they got nothing but junk on their lot, they are thieves, and nothing but no good liars. Stay away if you can at all help it. Not very professional people at all. read more

Worst dealership I've ever experienced. Most vehicles were not what was presented over the internet. Once a tentative agreement was made, they wanted to charge an additional $1,000.00 because we wanted to pay cash. Very unprofessional management.
