Well where do I start? Do I start with the rude and outright mean employees who talk and laugh about their customers in front of other customers and add extra charges when they give you a "discount" on something. Or, the outright mean and disrespectful owner who said (and this is exactly what he said) "I'm beginning to think you're out of your mind!" Yes, this is coming from the owner to me, a customer.
We spent nearly $1,000 here and rented chairs, canopy and tables for a wedding. When we went there, we got a quote from Jerry (female, who is suppose to be the manager). We asked if she can give us a break since we were spending so much money there and she knocked off 50 cent per chair and acted like she was giving us the world. They didn't have pictures of the canopy except for a picture that was one of the desks and Jerry pointed to the type of canopy we would get. So they have nothing to show you when it comes to the tents/canopies. They referred us to their website, which is terrible to begin with.
We went ahead and paid for everything upfront because they claimed that since the party is in the next few days, they needed all the money upfront. I learned later that this is a lie and this is part of their scam and they took advantage of us because they knew we were desperate to get the material we needed.
After we got home, we looked at the service agreement and noticed that the delivery charge was $75 and we live less than 2 miles away from this place. I then called and spoke with the person who answered the phone and just asked how much delivery was, she asked for my zip and I gave it to her, she indicated that it's $35. I then asked if it was $35 flat rate no matter how much you order and she said yes; further proceeded to tell me "if you order $100 or $2000, it's a flat rate of $35." So come to find out, Jerry gave us discount on the chairs and turned around and made up for it but doubling the price of delivery. This is how evil and backstabbing this place is!!
The day before the wedding, they came to set up the canopy only. After it was set up, I went to look at it and noticed huge muddy footprints on the roof of the canopy. The canopy was disgusting; it looked like they rolled it through dirt. Even one of the guys who was helping in the setup agreed that it was dirty and was very apologetic (at last 1 honorable human being that works for a horrible horrible company). Also, the canopy was not the same one that Jerry showed us in the picture. I called the place and asked to speak to the manager, she conveniently wasn't there. Then I demanded to speak to someone immediately to remedy the situation and I asked for the owner. They took my name and number down and would have the manager or owner call me.
The owner called me the next day, that's right people, he called me the next day.. the day of the wedding. I complained about the filthy canopy and asked him to replace it asap. He refused outright!! He refused to budge on anything and as a matter of fact told me that I was bothering him and his employees. The owner did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to please his customer. In fact, he was outright disrespectful and condescending. He told me that if I wanted a different canopy that I would have to pay for it and that the money I've already spent on the canopy that was delivered would not be applied. Basically, I would pay for 2 canopies but only have 1. And, on top of it, charge me for delivery of another canopy. WHAT!!!!! I couldn't believe my ears!! I told him that I was going to report him to the better business bureau and he said he would counter my report.
Two hours after an exhausting and unsuccessful plea to get a replacement canopy, 6 guys from the company came with cleaning material and a ladder, I didn't know if I should cry or laugh, I couldn't believe this was happening!!! The owner sent 6 employees over to clean the canopy!! This is how he decided to settle the situation. In the meantime, the catering company arrives and the guys are cleaning the canopy. The catering company had to wait 40 minutes before they can set anything up since the guys were still cleaning.
When the guys finished cleaning it, it didn't look that much different. The mud footprints were there, just not as bold. The area under the canopy smelled of chemicals, it was HORRIBLE and the catering company was hesitant at this point to set up anything until the odor went away.
The owner and the employees should be ashamed of themselves for the lies and for cheating their customers. Do not trust these people with ANY of your events! If they do this to someone on their wedding, imagine what they can do if it's not a wedding. They are unsympathetic and have all been trained in the proper art of deceiving their customers! Shame on you! I hope you can sleep well at night knowing you lie and cheat people who work hard and long hours to make a living!
