There are lots of places to grab a bite or drink -- coffee, smoothies, yogurt, mexican food, argentine food, subs, sushi and pizza (you can actually watch the show while eating pizza on their patio). They show feature movies on the weekend and during the week old tv shows, cartoons, and seasonal stuff. It runs from sundown until around 10 or 11pm every day of the year. It can be a little hard to find, but if you can locate LA Fitness or Old Spaghetti Factory, you're getting warmer. It's nestled between Pizza Nova and Ryan Bros Coffee. Lots of free parking. They've also hosted the annual San Marcos Student Film Festival 2 years running, which is usually in June, and again free to the public. The only reason for the lack of 5 stars is that it is COLD in the winter, and WET when its rainy ...not that there's a real solution to that, other than a blanket and an umbrella.... Expect kids running around, outdoor noise from cars and conversation, but its all part of the fun. Did I mention its all FREE?

There are three screens; playing different movies and plenty of parking spots. They are open Friday to Sunday for the drive in movies. They also occupy this space for swampmeet on certain days. Pro: lots of parking spots, bathroom for use, snack bar (cash only); friendly staff. Con: depends on the day and movie; it can get super packed, the entrance to purchase tickets can get long and extend to the streets; can be dangerous if no one pays attention. Bathroom is outdated, sometimes no hand soap or they run out of bathroom tissues or napkins. Other than that; such a great deal for new movie releases and in the comfort of your car. You can bring snacks, food etc; I always bring a pillow and blanked for extra comfort. Make sure to bring a radio if you don't want your car battery to die. I got one from Amazon for $20; such a great bargain and great system.

If you're tired of the loud chewers or the people who talk during movies, this is also perfect for you!!! You can park reverse and sit in your trunk to watch the movie, or even bring your own chairs! I like this location more than the other La Costa location since it's the newest. I am surprised they don't let you order your concessions at the counter anymore. It's quicker than the in-seat service. Half way through the movie we decided to get the cookie trio, which were delicious. The cookies were served warm and are massive. It did take a bit to get the cookies. I'd say maybe 30 minutes. But all in all a comfortable movie theater experience. The movie was amazing and loved all the nostalgic moments!

I purchased handicap seats because my mother is handicap and so is my grandmother. We were rudely, I mean RUDELY asked to move away from handicap because they were missing seats and claimed that the 3 seats we had were for 2 wheel chairs seats, yet there was chairs, no space for two wheel chairs, nothing that states "wheelchair only", nothing that specified only certain types of handicap. I purchased the only 3 handicap seats that were next to each other and available at this location. When we first arrived a couple were sitting in the seats we expected to have. The couple had no idea where they were supposed to sit because they didn't even have tickets!! We watched them move 4 times!! We watched them get kicked out of people seats 4 times!! I, the adult who PAID for tickets, paid for handicap tickets was told that the seats I bought were not for my type of handicap. So not only was I not given the handicap seats I paid for and that were absolutely necessary, I was pushed farther away from the exit to walk down steps with both handicap ladies in the dark while the movie was playing. THEN, the food we had ordered before getting kicked out of our seats showed up late, the server never came back to take our full order, never checked up on us, even the food was delivered with no "can we get you anything else". The only time the awful server came back was to drop the bill 45 mins before the movie was even finished! Outside that we ordered the endless popcorn which we clearly couldn't get more of, we were never asked before the bill was dropped off if we needed anything else or how it was. I think it's pretty clear that we were discriminated against, treated terribly and the staff intentionally stopped serving us. It too bad the unprofessional manager sent his employees to do the talking instead of coming out and dealing with the situation as he/she should have. For the prices we pay to go here, this is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional behavior by this staff. I will be writing to corporate to inform them about this awful situation.

On this particular day, we would also get 1/2 Price BOTTOMLESS POPCORN with an ENTREE. However, this did not appear on the bill. We had to ask one, two, then a third person, who got our server, RAFEAL. HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE DEAL, he had to to to the MANAGER, I suggest you look over your food bill before signing. AS FOR WHAT WE GOT, I liked my hamburger and fries, and Diet Coke. I also know that my partner liked his Nachos, and unsweetened Iced Tea. WE REALLY DID ENJOY THE AMBIANCE OF THE THEATER, The Lot and The Cinépolis Theaters are the only ones that can accommodate my back problems!!! The location is great, with a large parking lot that's easy to get in and out of. I still love the lobby and overall atmosphere. It feels a lot more upscale than your average movie theater, and everything seemed clean and well maintained. The biggest disappointment was the service. We ordered a popcorn refill and additional drinks during the movie and ended up waiting about 30 to 40 minutes for them to arrive. I also never received a receipt at the end and had to stop by customer service afterward. I also have to mention how much I miss the Greek bowl they used to serve. It had gyro meat and was hands down my favorite thing on the menu. I would love to see it make a comeback. I'll definitely be back because I still enjoy the theater overall, but I do feel like the experience isn't quite as good as it used to be.

La Paloma is the closest thing around to the dearly departed Ken. How is it like the Ken? On the positive side, it shows an eclectic mix of movies on the big screen that you can't find anywhere else. Like "Groundhog Day" on Groundhog Day. Like "Casablanca" and "2001: A Space Odyssey." Like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," a mostly awful movie that I have seen on the big screen too many times to admit. The ticket prices are reasonable. The design of the theater itself, although the building is clearly falling apart, is unique. The popcorn is freshly made. You can hear the Coaster train roll by a couple of times every showing. Now, you need to know that some of the seats are literally falling apart. The ones that aren't falling apart are not comfortable. This is not Cinepolis. Still, a few of us appreciate these old dinosaurs because of what they offer and what you can't find anywhere else.

The owner is super chill (along with his furry sidekick who enjoys belly scratches) and does a great job rotating movies from new, old and independent films. Ticket prices do vary depending on the event. Sometimes I've paid $1, other times $12, but for my all time favorite Rocky Horror Picture Show, it's priceless!!! Highly recommend catching a midnight show on Halloween with a live performance. Here are some key points if you plan on visiting: * Parking - There is parking directly behind the theater in the transit center or you can find off street parking. * Cash Only - This is a cash only venue. Unless you visit their website and buy tickets online but you will have to pay a service fee. It's honestly not necessary because the theater is not crowded (except for special events, did I mention Rocky Horror). *Concession Stand - They do serve some of the best popcorn with real butter. Trust me, buy some! Sodas, Red Bull, teas, and candy. Again, cash only. * Restrooms - Always clean, well stocked. * Seating - Ok it's a very old theater and the seats match the esthetic. They are old, worn down, musty but hey, no complaints. Just enjoy the show! Check their website for the latest showing and times. Retro Rewinds are a must!

It's located on the inside of a mall, but there's not even a sign that specifies that AMC is there. Just know that once you've passed by Trader Joe's and start walking to Ralph's, you've gone too far. As for parking, I think on the lower level, which is also hard to pinpoint from the main road (depending on where you're driving from, I've been told there's a parking garage). For me, I just ended up parking near the Trader Joes's/PetSmart side, which offered plentiful and more manageable parking. Aside from that, I totally understand what everyone means by the odd parking situation now lol. Once I found the theatre, it wasn't a bad experience. Staff was friendly, bathrooms, for the most part were clean. The inside felt a little outdated, but the reclining seats were comfortable! Keep in mind that they WILL make some loud squeaky noises if you're trying to adjust the positions mid-movie. I'm not sure if I'll be back to this AMC specifically, but I can't say I had a completely terrible experience either.
