I grew up taking classes in jazz, ballet, and tap, and had taken classes as an adult in modern, hip-hop, and contemporary/lyrical. However, when I started taking classes at RDT, I hadn't taken any classes, consistently, for over 10 years. I immediately fell in love with the RDT studio, the welcoming atmosphere, and high quality dance instruction and feedback. The owner and director, Stephanie Kovac, doesn't treat adult dancers as an afterthought; she prepares material, gives real feedback, and treats us like any other dance student... someone who wants to learn and improve. I've become more and more committed to my dance classes since that first class a year-and-a-half ago and now I jokingly say that I'll be there, "whenever the doors are open".
