ABSOLUTELY A 5 STAR RATING! THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM! A few days ago, my parked Toyota Camry was hit in my work parking lot. I found a note left by another employee noting of the incident. OF COURSE, I was furious to find this after a long day at work, but I am fortunate that there was honesty in this ordeal. The damage to my car, at first sight, looked very major. Hence, considering this is still a new car to me. I was also worried that it will cost an arm and a leg for repairs. Moreso, the time I have to take to get this repaired. But this AMAZING DUO (Randy and Mae) made it happen. First, I called for an estimate. I did not get an immediate response, so I left a voice message. Within 15-30 minutes later, I receive a call from Richard. He requested I text him pictures of the car, but I asked if I could stop by because this place was close by. He was perfectly fine with that. I arranged to meet him at 130. My BIL and I arrived before this time, and we were able to get a quick estimate. THIS WENT NICE AND SMOOTH. We were able to cross path with such AMAZINGLY NICE and HONEST individuals. So, quote was given, and I wanted to get this repair done ASAP. I was given options, and I loved this. What made it even better was when it was ok that we come back later to get this done and the service to get done will only take 30 minutes. THIS WAS AWESOME TO HEAR!!! They put me at ease when I saw the finished work. It was like nothing ever happened. AND visiting this place DID NOT cost me an arm and a leg. Their pricing is very reasonable. I picked up my 2016 Tesla Model S at the factory in March of 2016. As soon as I returned to Orange County I had Showcar Perfection polish it and apply their CS II ceramic coating. Since then I have never had the car waxed, only light washes. I take it in once a year so Richard Lin (company owner) can touch up the coating if necessary. If you're going to gamble you have better odds in Vegas. While at one point Richard was a nice guy. I'll say he bit more than he can chew when it got to my car. I was patient with him and gave him all the time he needed. The 1st time he kept my car for two weeks. What he did was work on other cars and the last moment did a rush job on my car with Xkote, and it still shows. He did say it was bad and he wants to fix it. I said no problem. I dropped off the car for another week only to be told he didn't do what he originally said he was going to and did a half ass buff job. On top of it he buffed an area to the point it burned right through the paint. He handled that OK. And paid for it to get painted. I told him my car still has streak marks and drip marks from his poor attempt of the Xkote application. I have it all over my windshield, tail lights, and headlights. In edition I had some chrome delete on my door handles and windows. He left severe tape marks on them. When I offered to let him fix it the third time he pretty much called me names and just as he does with every other customer he doesn't like. Post crap about them on his FB page. So he went and wrote about me being a &#@ customer. I responded identifying that it was me he called names and he bit off more than he could chew. Look at my pictures and tell me if you are willing to gamble..? Half of his reviews here are his friends. Save your money and get a pro detailing company to do a polish /clay/wax/ nano tech coating at your house and for ¼ of the cost. If the pictures from my car aren't a good indication.. His response is that my car is shinier. Well I could have gotten a good detail job instead of a shiny car with orange peal and lines all over the car. This is the first review I've written on Yelp for a business other than a restaurant. tl;dr: ShowCar Detailing is run by a true craftsman who saved the custom paint job on a car no one else was willing to touch, and at a very reasonable price. I have a 2002 PT Cruiser with a custom chameleon paint job that had begun to fog up. Car washes and even detailing could only restore the luster temporarily. I had taken the car to several paint specialists and was always told the same thing: The paint is ruined, and it can't be saved. Even though I'm not an expert, I knew that wasn't true. I had an upcoming visit to my family, and I looked on Yelp to see if I could find a nearby detailer who could make it look nice for the length of that visit at least. The name that Yelp presented me with was ShowCar Detailing, not far from my house, as it turned out. When I got there I met Richard, the man who owns the shop. I told him of my predicament, and how I basically wanted it to look nice one last time before I gave up and painted the whole car black. Well, Richard took a long look at my car and thought it was worth saving. He had me bring it into the shop and he ran some tests on it. He used a lot of different equipment and lighting on it, and finally marked off two test spots. He then worked his magic on it. When he was done, the spots were beautiful. But I had seen that before. Because I was short on time, I would have to return after the trip. I drove the car through the Arizona desert, and left it parked in the sun for three weeks. The spots that were worked on didn't fog up! They stayed clear. That sold me. I brought the car back as soon as I could. He had my car for nearly a week. Understand that for something this important, I wanted to give him all the time he needed. He used a number of different techniques on my car, tailoring the kinds of polishes and techniques to the different types of problem areas all over the car. When I got it back I was stunned! Not only had he restored the shine to the chameleon paint that others told me was gone forever, but even the factory black was blacker than I had remembered it. The two people who I showed the car to both agreed that it was a lot better looking even than when I first bought the car. 90% of ShowCar's business is fixing the damage done by other "detailers," and based not only on my car, but others I saw in the shop, I have no reason to doubt that number. The owner doesn't back down from a challenge. The price quoted to me was exactly what I paid, and considering he basically worked a miracle, the amount charged was incredibly low. In the end, he thanked me for letting him take a crack at saving it. I think ShowCar does a lot of what they do for the love of the game. The owner was also willing to give me free advice on what to do to maintain my paint job, and more importantly, what not to do. I'll be honest: If you drive a '96 Accord and just want it not to look dirty, this might not be the place to go, though they do offer a wash and wax service as well. But if you actually care about how your car's paint looks, and want it to look like it did when it was at the factory showroom, there is no other place you should go. I have taken my car to many detailers, and I have never encountered any place that genuinely cared so much about the quality of my car's paint. I finally have my brand new car just the way I've always expected a new car to look like. I bought my car new from dealership about 8 months ago and noticed swirls/marrings all over! Not many people can perform miracles; miracles in a sense where a sickness is healed, a broken bone made unbroken, or more money in my already empty bank account. But Richard Lin and his staff are different. You see? They have the magic touch. When a car that is in need of a detail comes in, they can lay their hands on it and within a day it can come out looking like new. Now results may vary depending on how ugly your car is, but let me tell you my story....As my car was uuuuuuuugly. Before having heard of Showcar Detailing, my car(aw11 mr2) at one time was really great looking. Not the best in terms of paint but good enough. But I ran into some motor issues with my car, the car soon became neglected by the ones working on it. And soon enough there were more imperfections on the car than a hot model in an audition. I started losing interest in the car, it was ugly, I had the motor rebuilt by a professional but that wasn't enough to make me fall in love again. Even though on the inside the car was the same, but on the outside it had let itself go....well more like I had let it go. I met Richard Lin on the MR2 group one day when I had posted a video of myself taking a business card off of my car window. What was that business card? A junker! Someone who will give you no more than $300 for you to sell your car to them so that they make have it dissected, sold for parts, then ultimately crushed. I knew that it looked bad but was it that terrible that someone would want to leave their card like that? So Richard invited me to come over and yes, I was very optimistic about the offer, because honestly I felt that the only way to bring it back to its former glory was a new paint job. But Richard insisted that he could save it, just so as long as it had some fight left in it and a bit of bite in the paint. After arriving to his business we took some before pictures and he started the inspection. It was around 9am at this time and that day was already starting to warm up. After performing some tests and taking measurement readings of the paint thickness on the car, he concluded that even though some spots were low that we could cut into and bring back out the shine. So we started, we washed, claybar'd, wet-sanded and polished every part of the car. Richard went the extra mile by taking car of the trim and even polishing the lights. I didn't even know that the lights needed it but that's the level of detail that he puts into his work. We finished around 9pm so it was a long day with two people working on a small little car; and if you figured that with two people that a job like this would take just a couple of hours then you are out of your mind. I know I stated that Richard is able to perform miracles but he does so in time. The miracle he had shown me took time as he wanted to reveal the magic and beauty of the car little by little. Making me fall in love with the car all over again, and which I did. That's the miracle that he and his team were able to perform. Any car enthusiast will understand what I'm talking about and if you are reading this and have gone to Richard, I'm sure that you are sharing the same experience with this review. It's one thing to buy a new car, but it's a whole other feeling when you can breathe new life into an old car. My mr2 now looks wonderful and even better than when I first picked it up. What Richard and his team were able to do for me was a wondrous thing and an experience that I'll never forget. This year I dropped off my Mazda3 that was previously Opticoated 2.5-3 years ago. It began showing blurry top panel and hood. It was possible to see the blur on other panels as well. This was expected given the condition I kept my car in though (100% lives outside). My car was one of the LAST cars that they used OptiCoat on before switching to CS-II. CS-II appears to perform better so far and lasts longer. On this car I ended up getting Titanium all around with TitaniumSH on the hood and top panel. Time will tell but this should last much much longer than the OptiCoat ever did. More recently I dropped off my new Model 3 to get PPF and CS-II on it. Richard knows a "guy" for everything, PPF, dents, paint, you name it he knows someone. As many people know Tesla paint isn't the best but with very little correction it got CS-II and PPF on the hood, fenders, front of the side mirrors. The PPF installation was flawless with tucked edges. There were a couple spots where there was an imperfection but that was in the paint and not of any fault of the staff there. While Richard and his team are using better techniques, different coatings and expanding the CS-II network over the last few years, the quality of work has not changed. I am treated with respect, get great quality, receive great value and get access to a wealth of knowledge every time I go here just as I did years ago on my first visit. If you have any questions always ask the team here and they will do everything to explain to you their products, the comparisons amount the products, their methodology and how to take care of the car when you leave. The day that Richard retires and leaves this place (hopefully in capable hands like Josh or Melissa) is going to be a super super sad day for me. read more
