There are tons of record covers, vintage toys and rock and roll memorabilia - great vibe. In the back is the theatre space with tables for guests so they can drink and dine throughout the show. They've got it down to a science. Wait staff take orders before and during the show and restock drinks and even check you out / close your tab before the show ends. A few of us shared chicken quesadillas and double chicken wings with 2 kinds of sauce which were all very good. They've got made to order cocktails, beer and cider as well as canned cocktails. I heard on amateur night the wings are half off. A few of my friends have taken the classes and really enjoyed them. I've enjoyed seeing them and their classmates nail their class shows. All of the comedians I've seen at Levity have been very funny in they own unique way. The Día de los Muertos show tonight was a beautiful night of music, storytelling, comedy and remembering and honoring our lost loved ones. Edith Chavez hosted and curated the evening. Located in what used to be a school, there are light refreshments available (pizza, popcorn, drinks, candy) setup in the hallway. The show takes place in a school auditorium. It was a sold out show so it was packed. With auditorium seating, it was kinda tight and everyone had to get up from their seats if anyone needed to get out, so I wasn't a huge fan of this for a comedy show. Also, there were not enough bathrooms for the amount of people, but they extended intermission until everyone could go (which was nice). However tickets were cheap and I appreciated that they don't have a 2 item minimum policy like other venues do. So I would probably go back.

Everyone was asking each other where they should be because it was definitely not clear. While in line we were offered raffle tickets for some prizes. When you make it to the door staff members select a table for you that you share with others which is not a problem unless the people you shared the table with drink too much... The servers are hard working and friendly. The food was meh at best. But it was mandatory to buy. The chips with queso... the bottom of the bag chips were broken and all the salt from the bag was on them. The soft pretzels were ok but I'm not sure what the dipping sauce was supposed to be. The venue itself is the most perfect 70s/80s dance club…read moretime capsule you could ever imagine, and my husband and I were beyond excited to discover it during a trip to Burlington. When we arrived we noticed there were almost no cars in the parking lot, so we weren't completely shocked to discover there were almost no people inside this amazing space. We decided to give it some time, and we waited until almost midnight, but only three or four small groups filtered in (and 75% of them went over to the Latin-inspired club on the other side). The music was great, and exactly what you'd expect from a 70s/80s club, but there was no one to dance to it. The drinks weren't cheap, but again, if there would have been a crowd to dance, it would be a price worth paying. Same goes for the cover charge - we would have gladly paid to join the party had there been one. We felt like we found the holy grail in our quest to find a perfect 80s dance club based on the looks, but like the grail, maybe the most of us Gen Xers are becoming relics who are too old to go out and enjoy this amazing space that harkens back to our prime young adult years.

Their theatre is so similar to the one at Second City which was great. There's plenty of seating; bar seating, cocktail tables and booths at the back. The Acoustics are also great here

A tale of 2 Comedy Bars -- east vs west -- Danforth vs Bloor…read more Bloor is the OG. It does get some bigger-name acts, but tends to focus on the best local talent, improv acts and alternative shows. Bloor looks like a straight-up dive, which I love! Danforth is shinier, like a nice clean pub. The location is out of the way, for sure (unless you're an east-ender). BUT Danforth seems to be booking the most exciting international names in comedy! Unless the comedian is big enough to book a theatre in Toronto, they're booking here. (Or Yuk Yuks on Richmond.) So check the website from time to time to see who's playing, which is what I do. I've discovered lots of cool new talent that way. As for Danforth's main stage, it's okay! The room is quite wide, so seats on the very ends aren't the best. And last weekend (November), the air conditioning blasted me the whole time (why?? So... cold). That being said, it's 5 stars for me because they're booking really interesting stand-up! And there you have it. Huzzah.
