Dr. Shao and his office staff are fantastic! My son's braces finished within the timeframe that Dr. Shao estimated and with perfect results. The office is very efficient and never leaves us waiting. We are able to get appointments quickly whenever there is an issue, and you can't beat the weekend availability! Highly recommend! Also a shout out to Conrad! He removed my son's braces and was so gentle and patient with my son (who has never been a big fan of dental work)! read more

Unfortunately, I have to downgrade my initial glowing review. Despite doing everything I was supposed to do, my teeth have shifted. The doctor took me out of them a little early, which may have been the cause of the problem. Whatever it is, I wear my retainers every single night without fail. I've only been out of my braces a year and already one of my teeth is moving back considerably and a couple on the bottom have moved as well. I don't have another $5,000 to spend on braces but I signed a release form so I'm out of luck. read more

Dr. Shao and his entire staff, Jilian, Diana, Mario are AMAZING! From the first day that I came in for my consultation, they made me feel welcome and that patient care was their number one priority. They have proven this time and time again. On the rare occasion I had a concern, they have been responsive, professional, and most importantly (in my opinion), demonstrated the highest level of genuine care for me and my treatment plan. My daughter has been a star (patient) here for about 6 months. She loves it. She looks forward to each appointment and feels like a celebrity each time. I had such an amazing experience I went in because I experienced gapping after not wearing my retainer and having lost a tooth and the front desk and staff were so welcoming, warm, and pleasant! I went in for a consultation and I was so impressed by the doctor and appreciated his expertise and guidance to find a solution for me. Just got my braces off today and am extremely happy with the results. Dr. Shao and staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Was very satisfied with treatment process, Dr. Shao is always open to feedback and accommodating in regards to what your personal preference/ ortho goals are. Treatment estimated to take 1 year- was done in 9 months. Dr. Shao was even able to get everything done before upcoming vacation. Extremely satisfied with entire ortho process. Would definitely recommend for adult and pediatric braces. read more

History

Established in 2014.

Education and Continuing Education My Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degrees were both awarded at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The education I received in these programs was top-notch. The last dental ranking of US News & World Report ranked UTHSCSA as #1 dental school in the nation. Oral healthcare, and especially orthodontics, is an ever-changing field, with new technologies, materials, and treatment methodologies constantly being developed. It's essential that I stay on the leading edge of knowledge in order to provide my patients with the best care available, so I attend multiple meetings, conferences, and lectures throughout the year, including those offered by the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. I am also a Board-Certified orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics.

Love of Orthodontics There is nothing like the feeling of changing someone's life through braces and various orthodontic techniques. The smiles I can create for my patients have such a significant impact on their lives and are truly rewarding to see. As an orthodontist, I feel very blessed and privileged to be part of that positive change. Orthodontics is not only a science, it's also an art. I love witnessing how each person comes in with varying degrees of malocclusion, yet each has the same goal: a healthy, beautiful smile. It's my responsibility to use my skills and knowledge to make that happen, and develop a treatment path that's right for them. What's best of all, at least for me, is that I use my knowledge to create smiles for people I care about. My patients are fascinating individuals, and I love getting to know them on a personal level, building relationships as their treatment progresses.
