Came here for a BBQ pop up event a few weeks ago. Last time I was at this location was almost 10 years ago when it was another brewery. There's a decent amount of parking outside and seating inside. Service was great as the young ma taking my order offered me to taste the samples. We ordered a flight and I ended up getting a few pints of hazy's. The beer was excellent. read more

I've been to Shred about 4-5 times. Was having difficulty accepting this new spot for Brewer Zach after him leaving a cherished spot across town. I'm over the past and completely stoked for Shred. The beers are all just SDG so damn great!! Always a few hazies, a few more westies, a lighter lager or two. Perhaps a couple stouts. Everything Kills! I could drink like one of everything on their board of like 12-16 beers. The taproom has 3 areas inside and plenty of out door tables. A big screen tv, a couple pinball games and a few skateboards hanging for decoration. Plenty of cans to go and chips and salsa for sale. Usually a food vendor outside on the weekends. Bartender are always great. Smiling jappy to be working there types. Congratulations on two years, SHRED!!! read more

After subbing in Rocklin, I made my way over to Shred. Greeted by the friendly bartender, I made my decision for a freshly kegged IPA. I got the signature Shred IPA and deelish chips by the crazy gringo! There's also more snacks and salsa for sale too, but if you need food-food the. Go get a pizza a couple blocks away... I sipped my Shred IPA while the sunset was in motion and enjoyed the outdoor vibes. This place is so rad and enjoyable inside or out and for dogs too. What a great spot! This place is super clean and wonderfully decorated! Wow! We came here randomly last week and were very impressed. The beers were delicious. We got different flights...My favorite was the God Machine. Yum!!! Unfortunately for us the food truck cancelled last minute, literally. But they had the crazy gringo chips and salsas, popcorn and spicy pretzels for purchase. They have to go beers and other drinks in the to go fridges. Ms. Dani our bartender was very sweet and helpful. We enjoyed her presence there and are sad to learn she is moving to the East coast soon. We will be back!! Stopped by Shred on a Friday afternoon. The brewery is a nice size and you are immediately greeted upon entering. Looked at the big board and the selection was almost overwhelming. Ended up getting a "friends with freestyle" and a "high bines". Both were absolutely phenomenal, balanced and full of flavor. Super friendly staff. Great tables and chairs for sitting and enjoying beer. Loved that they allow dogs. We also came for the Vegan Circus Food truck. Organic Vegan Carnival Food and every vegan or not just loves them. The beer was ok. Daughter and I got a flight each with 8 different beers to taste. None of them made us want a full glass. I think the Elevated Synergy was the favorite. Loved the citrus back notes. Not too hoppy. The Obliterator came in 2nd only because it was it so full of flavor it was almost too much. We had wanted to check out the brewery as my hubby had tried one of their beers at a restaurant. There is a parking lot to park for the brewery. There are plenty of tables to sit and have a beer. We brought our dog and was able to sit inside especially since it was hot outside. We did not see an area for outdoor seating. Staff greeted us right away and asked what we would like. I usually get a sampler so I can try a few different styles. They offer a good selection of beers. They don't have food although you can buy some snacks. The service is quick & friendly, since it was my first time visiting I asked for recommendations & their recs did not disappoint! They have a large variety & A LOT of West Coast IPA's. I been wanting to come to this new brewery that opened this summer it has been on my list since then . So glad we had the opportunity to check it out this past Saturday. This location is where Out Of Bounds brewery use to be. When we first walked in it was kinda empty but as the evening went on, it started getting a little bit more busy . They do not have any food but they do have popcorn and chips for purchase. They have rotating food trucks on some days . The day we were there the food truck had already left . Jeff was the person who helped us that day he was amazing !! Very friendly and attentive he explained all the beers to us and we had great conversations with him. I honestly had not heard much of this brewery besides me checking on Yelp for any new places to visit near my area and this business popped up. I love hazy beer and all the hazy's I tried that day were super delicious. I had a flight of all of them . I seen they had a lot of medals and awards for winning things for their amazing beers . Another thing that caught my eye on the menu is that they had a collaboration with Humble Sea which is one of my favorite breweries. I highly recommend checking out this brewery it has amazing beers on tap also beers to go in cans . They have TVs and nice seating areas . Jeff was amazing and friendly! Anyone even remotely interested in craft beer is surely familiar with Zac and Amy, brewers and owners of Shred. Both industry veterans, they bring ton of knowledge and experience from both NorCal anc SoCal to Rocklin. Shred is a little off the beaten path (in the former Out of Bounds location, for those familiar with the area). They have been open for a little more than 1 year now (their anniversary party was not to be missed), and have quickly become one of my favorite breweries overall. Though I don't live in the immediate area, I always try to pay them a visit when in Placer County. Obviously, the emphasis here is on hoppy beers. Even if Zac can be attributed as one of the first CA brewers who put hazies on the map, lately Shred has been producing mostly clear, new-school WC IPAs which are more to my liking. Recently, they have also added seating outside and with the cooler days coming, I am looking forward to enjoying one (or more) of their beers outside. For sports fan, Shred has League Pass so Sundays can be busy. Also, they are dog and kid friendly since they serve no food but there are rotating food trucks. If you appreciate great beer and friendly service do yourself a favor and take that exit from 80 and a 10 minute detour...it will be totally worth it! read more

5-stars if you like IPAs esp of the West Coast variety... and you want to return to non-hazy / non-murky craft brews. They make other styles, so don't jump to conclusions if you don't like IPAs. The co-owners Zac and Amy have much experience. My husband is a Moonraker and former Slice fan. We were surprised to learn Amy headed up Arrow Lodge, which we tried in the LA Arts District. We weren't in town for long, but we prioritized a trek to Shred / Rocklin from Sacramento. Thankful for the welcoming Connor and the lady he was training in the taproom. They were willing to work between the year-end holidays. Connor is knowledgeable and helped us cultivate our flight, although we have a good idea of what we like. Cozy interior design of natural wood gives character to the industrial park space. Wooden picnic tables and overhead lights bring the beer garden sentiment indoors, next to the refrigerated 4-packs. It doesn't feel like a man cave! ;) Ladies welcome too. Two large TVs but there are tables so you can avoid getting sucked into the game(s). Decent-sized "party room" which can be closed off for private events. I was here when they originally opened a little of a year ago. They had some decent stuff, but were building. Well, they have come full circle. Tasted the Zero Degrees Cold Lager- well balanced, smooth and super crushable. Then did a taste of the Hella Bier Hellas Lager- light, totally refreshing, mowing your lawn on a hot afternoon crushable refresher lager, loved it! Then I asked the beer tender(Connor) to pick a West Coast IPA of the 5 they had on tap . He gave me Nose Deep 6.9% abv. Solid West Cost IPA. Super rich, full bodied, Dank, smooth, hints of coconut. Great everyday varietals and a double crush. Bro knows his brew! Enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Listening to artists like Stick Figure, The Movement and Pepper. Super inviting and kick back. Visited on an early Friday afternoon and it was modestly busy. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Interior is simple, clean and comfortable. They allowed my dog inside, so kudos to them. The day I visited, the majority of the beer offering was single and double IPA's. Tried a flight, which is four 5 oz servings, but found all to be a little too similar and very hoppy. I think they should offer at least a couple of non IPA styles with malt forward profiles, like a brown ale or ESB. I've been to Shred about 4-5 times now. At first, it was a little tough accepting this new spot for Brewer Zach, especially after he left the old place across town that we all loved. But honestly, I'm totally over that now and super stoked on Shred! The beers are just amazing! All SDG (so damn good). The beer was decent. The music pumping out of the public address system right next to the cash register was unbelievably loud. We could not even hear ourselves order, let alone sit inside and talk. We had to go outside where it was cold, gulp our beer and leave. It seemed to be trivia night. Maybe other nights are different. But I wouldn't go here again. There are lots of other good breweries in the area that don't give you a migraine with their insanely loud sound system. We clearly indicated to the bartender that we could not hear him or ourselves, but he didn't make any gesture to turn down the music or apologize. In fact, he was the one running trivia night and seemed to enjoy the sound of his own voice over the loud microphone once the festivities began. They have a friendly and helpful team behind the counter. Restrooms are a little hidden but to the right of the beer coolers. Beer is award winning with great food trucks and service. The building has great AC flow. Comfortable seating and plenty of seating options. For instance, there are 4 picnic tables for large parties that can seat 4-6 people and a various amount of tables for 2-4 people parties. Some side stalls for single people sitting. So back to the beer. You can taste and select. They have flights where you can add-on extra tasters if needed. They specialize in all types of pales which won't let you down. We are lucky enough in this area to be pretty centralised to quite a few amazing breweries/taphouses but I have to say that I think I prefer Shred to them all. I've been coming to this location for years back when it was Out of Bounds and was initially sad when I found out they were moving out but Shred is just phenomenal. It's comfortable, the bartenders are so, SO nice and easy going and I don't think I've ever had a beer I hated there. It feels like my 'Cheers'. A new brewery from Zack Frasher (Moonraker, Slice) and Amy Heller (Arrow Lodge)! I love Zack's hoppy beers and consider them a favorite, even though they don't get distribution in my area. So previously with Moonraker, Slice and now currently Shred, I periodically make the 2 - 2.5 hour trek from San Francisco to get them. I visited July 2nd for the first time ever. The space is a nice size, with different seat set-ups and several rooms for different peoples' needs. It wasn't crazy crowded when I was there, but if it ever got packed, there's a considerable amount of standing room available. The staff was eager and enthusiastic to help, so no complaints there. But it's the beer that's the focus! Even though it's only been open a month, they had 9 different beers on tap including a blonde ale (perfect for the 106F heat wave that was going on), a kettle sour, a coffee porter, and of course - IPAs! They've got you covered if you like West Coast style bitterness and dankness, or if you like the softer juicier hazy ones. I enjoy both from Shred and gladly took away 4-packs for my July 4th celebration (and after!). Can't wait to see what they do next! read more
