We were driving through the area and were looking for a spot to grab some food. Trax had a great beer list and they definitely have something for everyone. Unfortunately, I didn't love my nachos. The meat was flavorless and the beer cheese was not what I expected. My boyfriend's chicken sandwich looked great and he very much enjoyed it. The service was good. Mustards were good, pretzel was on point, cheese and meat aligned with the $6 add. The almonds were the plain variety, and the chocolate portion were mini chocolate chips which gave us a chuckle. This place had 4.7 stars on YELP, so we decided to give it a try for lunch. Not crowded at all, so we sat at the bar. Our server was really nice and answered my husband's questions about all their beers. He ended up ordering a red beer which he said was really good. Very refreshing. Different menu with choices we had never heard of before. My husband ordered the Cheesy Burger Taco $7. He loved it. It is tiny, but he said really filling. I ordered the Ahi Poki Nacho $18 which was so yummy. I would definitely come back here and order another one of these. Delicious!! Not a fancy, schmancy place at all, but the great food and Staff makes up for the lack of ambiance. We were surprised it didn't get busier as it was lunchtime. As soon as we walked in it felt like a neighborhood hangout. We were greeted right away and looked at the food menu and beer menu. They also offer cocktails. You have to go up to the bar to order food and drink. Julia helped us with our order. They have a pool table and lots of TVs to watch sports. You can sit at any open table or at the bar. We did luck out with happy hour and were able to try a couple things we opted for the taco and the garlic cheese bread I would say both were yummy but the flatbread was the winner. The Trax Taproom and Kitchen is a fun place to chill and to eat. I specifically went for the Open Mic Night on Mondays hosted by CJ Washington and Devin Wright for Motiv Local Live Music. Those two are my favorite local band. I was so impressed by everyone's singing and instrument playing abilities. No one had stage fright. They just confidently perform. Seth Kaminsky was also there to perform 2 new songs. Other singer-musicians included Nikki, Larry, Todd, Charlie, and more. David Albertson from my other favorite local band, The Albertson Duo, also can show up for Open Mic Night. Recommended by the owner, the Conductor Sliders are 2 mini cheeseburgers with arugula and paprika seasoned fries. Burgers were yummy and tender topped with melted cheese and grilled onions. The Trax tacos are fully loaded with chicken, pickled red onions, tomato chunks, and paprika crema wrapped in a cheese fried tortilla. You get 3 in an order. $1 off beer during Happy Hour 4-6 PM every day. Beer is served in 10 oz and 16 oz size glasses. Owner was kind enough to let me taste 2 beers before deciding on #25 Hemly Cider Pink Lady. You can also order a flight of beers for $14. Found this place after searching for nearby taprooms. It used to be a different restaurant so we found it easily in downtown Roseville on Vernon. It was early when we went in (around 4pm) so we had most of the place to ourselves but it filled up quick! Hubby and I both got a tasting flight. I really love being able to do this. You get a good taste of 6 different beers, ciders, or hard seltzers. We both found one in our flight we really enjoyed and ordered one to drink with our snack. We ordered the tot-chos and the soft pretzel to share. People, have you had peanut butter sauce with your soft pretzel? OMG. Sounded weird but was easily my favorite thing we ate. The beer is good we had a New England beer from moon raker called the hermit and high frequency from shred also a New England IPA both were so good if you like IPA. Of course this place cannot take credit for the beer tasting good but they can At least serve a cold beer. The Shred beer was so good but came out warm which was disappointing. The girl serving the beer seemed to be so nice but I witnessed her playing with her hair (she had it up in a bun then let it down) and adjusted it with her hands, then started to handle food which grossed me out. I'm actually witnessing her right now making a drink as well lol it's so gross. Came on a Sunday I think they karaoke which is always fun but probably won't be back. We were waiting out the concert at Goldfield's and The Trax was one of the few places that was still open past 10 on the main strip. Came here with some friends after spending the morning in Rocklin. The owner sat us down and was very friendly and attentive. He recommended this blueberry muffin beer they had on draft and it tasted just like a blueberry muffin. We popped in during Roseville family fest to escape the heat. They were understaffed for how busy they were because of the festival - that being said, they didn't miss a beat! They were up front and honest that the food may take a while but the drinks would be quick and keep flowing. Despite the rush- our drinks, service and surprisingly the food were ALL super fast, and delicious!!!! They had 30 beers on tap, a wine menu, and an assortment of appetizer or bar bites vibe food that all sounded delicious. I originally wanted the Mac and cheese balls or apple Gouda flatbread- but since they were out of those I got the ahi nachos and they were really good. Trax Taproom and Kitchen is the newest restaurant/taproom in downtown Roseville, CA and in the short three months - at this writing that the restaurant has been open - has become a hangout for Roseville locals who enjoy good food, and to linger over one of the 30 west coast beers the restaurant serves on tap! As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice it's been completely redecorated from it's days as a sandwich shop or a juice bar. The stove, located near the front door, remains untouched from the building's previous lives, and the "HOT! Do Not Touch!" sign, remnants of privious business ventures remains. The decor is very modern and comfortable, with the huge bar being the centerpiece, and lots of widely-spaced tables in the dining room, which makes the large dining room seem even larger than it really is. The centerpiece of the dining room is the large bar at the rear, with thirty west coast beers on tap, including several brewed locally, in Sacramento or Auburn. There are several television monitors tuned to sports, and a large, railroad-theme mural on the wall, which depicts the days when steam engines ruled the rails. The beer selection is listed on a video monitor that scrolls through all five pages of beer and wine selections, one page at a time. Each page is visible for about 30 seconds, which "sort of" gives you time to make your choice. You can also view the menu on your smart phone, as there are "QR" codes on the counter that you can scan with your phone, which will give a complete listing of the selections. There are 30 beers on tap, all craft, all west coast brews, and many of them are local to the greater Sacramento area. I simply couldn't decide... but no worries, as four-beer "flights" help to resolve and questions. The food menu is quite compact, and offers a modest selection of "bar food." Don't be fooled, as the food is DELICIOUS!! From the "Grant Street Eats" section of the menu, I went with "Conductor Sliders," which included a small order of "Steam Engine Fries." The menu simply describes the sliders as, "Beef, cheese, grilled onion and house sauce." Included with my order was a bed of greens - essentially a premium lettuce variety - and a small cup of ketchup, which came in handy to dip the fries into. Each slider is a small cheeseburger, with the bun being about the diameter of a DVD and the beef patty weighing at about 3-ounces, before cooking. Like the old saying goes, "good things come in small packages," as the "Conductor Sliders" were simply delicious! The beef was tender, juicy and cooked medium, yet it was thoroughly and perfectly cooked while still retaining the delicious flavor and texture. It's quite apparent that Trax Taproom and Kitchen uses premium beef - never frozen - as the beef was simply as good as it gets! The beef was placed on a buttered, perfectly toasted small brioche bun. Each slider was dressed with a perfectly melted slice of American cheese, topped with grilled white onion, and coated with "House Sauce" which is a close parallel to Thousand Island dressing. I added half the premium lettuce to each of my sliders, as I simply adore the combination of juicy meat and cool veggies. The "Steam Engine Fries" were battered and deep fried to a golden brown on the outside, and tender white inside, and had a distinctive "crunch" when you bit into them. I'm a lover of "all things fries," and, like the sliders, my "Steam Engine Fries" were simply delicious. Such a delicious combination of two sliders, along with some of the best fries in western Placer County! Chef Julia has talent, she knows her trade, and she and Trax Taproom and Kitchen deliver a lunch, without parallel in downtown Roseville! Good times, good food, good beer and great staff and lots of fun... Trax Taproom and Kitchen has it all, in downtown Roseville, CA. As the motto of the restaurant states, "Good times, Good beer..." We grabbed lunch here during Family Fest. The inside has a modern feel with lots of white, gray, and metal. Many tables were dirty when we arrived because they were not prepared for the number of people attending Family Fest. For a restaurant right on the corner of the square, this is inexcusable. They should have known about the event and planned accordingly. Also, the only 6 person tables they have are high tops. Roseville is absolutely packed with young families so high top tables are dangerous and uncomfortable. The service was okay for how unprepared and busy they were. The server was experienced and polite, but we did not get utensils or napkins and she nearly skipped my order. Also, they were out of a few menu items which is another sign of poor preparation. I ordered a side of fries and the pretzel. The fries were crunchy, salty, and hot. The pretzel was good and the peanut butter sauce was a unique twist. Beer isn't my thing so the wine list was slim but you can never go wrong with a glass of Kim Crawfords Sauvignon Blanc I ordered two! Dessert was caramel stuffed churros we opted out. No coffee either. Service was good, we were greeted by a young man upon arriving that gave us menus and let us know we could sit anywhere. We chose the hightop, once seated our waitress came and she was sweet, attentive, and was always smiling (you rarely see that now a days; so it was definitely refreshing) Total for 2 sours, 2 wines, a soda, and the 3 apps was $108.74... a little pricey only since they weren't actual entree meals, but none the less we will def be back.
