​This is the second time I have used ShredCity and the second time I have been compelled to write a glowing review. I live out-of-state, or I would use them for my own company. They are that excellent! I used them about 4 years ago when I flew to San Francisco to help my father downsize and move out of his house. I was so pleased with the service, that when I recently came to town to help my retired father empty a storage facility of about 70 years worth of his law and tax files from his business, I contacted them again. I spoke to Caroline in the office, who seamlessly made all the arrangements. ShredCity is transparent and lets clients know what cost to expect. Someone called me the day before to confirm, and then Fred called me the morning of to let me know when he would be there. He was actually early. Fred was so energetic and hardworking and figured out how to navigate the storage facility quickly. He was friendly and had nice manners. Since my father and I are both senior citizens, I was thrilled when Fred showed up with mask on so I did not have to ask for this courtesy. The price ended up being incredibly reasonable, and there was no extra charge for having to go up and down in a freight elevator. Where I live, for the huge amount of files that had to be shredded, it would easily have been twice the cost. From start to finish, this experience with ShredCity was once again extremely positive. Had some business files that needed to be shredded and instead of going to my previous company decided to look local. Placed an inquiry on the web and within 10 minutes received a call from Shred City. Gentleman was polite and helpful and booked an appointment with him for a day later ( although he said he could do it the very next day, I was not avail). They called the day before and confirmed the appointment. The driver was not only on time, he was early! ( when does that happen? ). The driver that picked up my boxes was friendly and outgoing. Shred City has one of the most professional, friendly, and efficient staff I have ever seen and experienced when it comes down to the serious business of handling important documents. On Monday, I had completed an online questionnaire requesting bids to shred documents and was informed that I will be contacted by the companies I have been matched with based on my location. In less than 5 minutes, I received a call from Michelle at Shred City. She was very friendly and thorough in asking all the pertinent questions needed to assist me - location of facility where the items were being stored, what needs to be shredded, size of boxes the documents were stored in, and how many boxes of documents needed to be shredded. Additionally, Michelle patiently explained the different types of services they offer - onsite shredding where I was located or offsite shredding where their driver will take all the documents to their secured facility to be shredded. Customer's choice. Michelle gave me a set price per box, and even assured me that if I had accidentally miscounted the 73 boxes of documents that needed to be shredded, the price will remain as quoted. No hidden fees. Additionally, Shred City would match any quote I receive from another shredding company. I decided to go with Shred City after giving the other companies an opportunity to provide their bids. However, their response time, professionalism, and friendliness were no match for Michelle. I emailed Michelle and she scheduled an appointment for me right then and there for the same week on Friday. On Friday morning, I received a call from Mike, who said his driver, Jose, is at our storage unit and was there early to beat the traffic. Since it takes me about 10 minutes to drive over, Mike said, No worries! Take your time and drive safely!" I love it when individuals in a company treat its customers with thoughtfulness and care, not just another customer who will meet their bottom line. My husband and I met Jose at our storage unit. Jose was very friendly and was a good sport, despite waiting for us to show up. I don't think I've ever seen a man load and unload 73 boxes by himself in less than 30 minutes! I'm including the time it took to take the elevator from ground floor to basement, walk the long halls to the storage units, load the dolly with the heavy boxes, walk the long hallway back to elevator, back up to ground floor, then to the truck. I was so impressed with Jose's work ethics. He was fast, efficient, hard working, but also very friendly while working. Every one of the employees I interacted with during this whole process from obtaining a bid to scheduling, to confirmation of the date and time, and loading of the boxes - Michelle, Mike, and Jose were model employees who really made this a very pleasant experience! All three individuals were very friendly, professional, courteous, patient, and hard working. They give Shred City an awesome reputation. I wish I had more boxes of documents to shred just so I can interact with them again, but alas, I do not. Shred City is top notch! Most recently, Shred City was able to schedule my pick-up for off-site shredding within 1 day of my request for service. I had used them previously when they were in my office building shredding for other tenants and offered to take my boxes. Both times they were extremely professional, courteous, and made me feel confident that my sensitive documents were handled and destroyed properly. I am a very small organization with no more than 10 boxes each time I have used them, but they treat me like they appreciate my business. I called and left a message about getting a quote for some shredding for the company that I work at. I got a call back from Michelle Hillis and was giving the pricing and time line to set up the appointment. Very competitive, very responsive from the sales end of things. The driver showed up on time and after checking in with the office I instructed him where to park. He was easy to work with and had the whole job shredded in about 15 minutes. I used Shred City to clean out some old documents that had outlived their usefulness a very, very long time ago but that could not be simply thrown into a recycling bin (tax returns from 25 years ago, apartment lease documents from the 1970s that still had social security numbers on them, etc.) Shred City was superb. This place was fabulous! We had 2 large boxes of documents to shred since we were moving. When we arrived, we saw they also shred VHS tapes. We had 28 tapes & the documents. Total for all this was $30. Amazing....and you get to watch it shred. Glad we didn't just throw the tapes in the dump. Everything shredded here is recycled! Very professional. When my shredder broke just before a move, I didn't to replace it. Had stuff to shred, though, and gave this place a run. At 50 cents per pound, I can't imagine what more a person could hope for. As advertised, they shred while you watch ~ the machine's behind a big window. This isn't even a shred in any traditional sense of the word. The resultant pile looks like insulation. It's totally pulverized. After weighing your stuff, they take the receptacle to the machine, you watch through the window as they shred by the handful, and they usually even turn your receptacle upside down when done so you get the peace of mind knowing your information is safely unavailable. They also mentioned that they're insured and bonded. Nice! read more
