Normally I have had good experiences with this franchise. But one thing I have very little patience for is poor customer service. I scheduled my appointment online. Very easy and quick. I was scheduled for a window today between 8am-10am. At 9:45 I had not heard from anyone. I called and was told by the rep that my window was 9-11am so essentially: why are you calling me? I said, "I know what I booked and I am looking at the confirmation. 8-10am. In other words: I wouldn't have called you until I double checked this so why are you responding like I am the problem. She kind of sighed and said, "ok, I will have someone call you to verify time." Of course no one called and at 11am...I headed to work having wasted three hours of my day. Both were extremely professional and personable and they both worked extremely hard. We had a massive job and they went above and beyond to make sure it all got done quickly and with high quality. Today was different than my usual experience with Junk King. I have used this company prior in Yuba County and service has been timely and excellent. Today was different. For the first time I used Junk King Sacramento. I had a scheduled time for pickup from 12-2pm. Unfortunately at 12:45 I received a call saying the guys were going to need to reschedule me to tomorrow, as they had another job that ended up bigger than mine and then they would have to try to pick up other stops first. This was highly disappointing because it took into no account that for a move out I scheduled ahead of time with setting up cleaners for the home that has down payments and loss of partial payment if you cancel 24 hours or less before cleaning service. The reason I write this today is in hopes of suggesting some remedies. First perhaps the scheduling should be done with the service picking up, this would help alleviate such drastic time changes or cancellations from time needed set by your customer. Also perhaps It might be helpful to have one truck for short pickups, as my pickup would have been short and to the point, so perhaps at least one or two trucks for short pickups might help prevent double booking or overscheduling, because it effects your clients, time table and finances often in a time of moving and transition. This was the first time I experienced this, my other experiences were great, Today's experience was not so great. I have only used Junk King for removals today was the first day I had to use another company, I will try junk king again, I believe in second chances, but today was highly disappointing, cost me a partial payment for rescheduling cleaners, and just seems like once a client schedules, and it's agreed upon do your best to honor it, because your client is scheduling around your service as well. read more

I called Junk King earlier today (Friday) and they told me no problem coming today to remove my sectional couch. A man shows up early by himself and wants to remove this with a "dolly." I have hardwood floors just recently refinished and my interiors recently painted. This was too heavy and bulky for one person to safely move this by himself without damaging his own person or my home. I was given every excuse why a second person could not help and even offered to reschedule for Monday. I was totally given the run around by the scheduler (she would not commit to a date and time vs earlier they had all the time in the world to schedule). Carefully consider using this place if you care about the safety of individuals performing this job and your home. I said " no, price too high@ and guy tried to negotiate but I sent him away. Junk King services the business next door to us. They used our drive thru lane as a shortcut and ran over our signage. (Its not an access, just our drive thru but instead of backing out he just ran over the sign!) When we sent the invoice to replace the sign they said they would let the President know but never got back to us after multiple emails. Just used their service today: 5/24/2022 10AM My entire exchange with this company has been nothing short of excellence from start to finish! To start, it was incredibly easy to get in contact with them and to get a free estimate. They have a text line that I was able to send photos of our junk with, and they responded quickly and efficiently. From there it was a straight shot into scheduling. They arrived right at the start of the estimated time frame they gave me, and from entering our property, removing the junk, and lying for their services, the entire process was maybe like 10 minutes. Granted I only needed to remove 2 large rugs and an ottoman, but it was worth it since it would've taken me much longer to do all that. Lol. Overall, they offer a great service at a great price. I will absolutely use them again in the future and refer my friends and family as well! read more

Management tried to redeem themselves from an attempted scam the day prior made independently by the crew on-site. (Crew charged me $798, but I was invoiced $418.) I ultimately felt unsafe around the same men who tried to pocket from me during this two-day project. My experience includes the services provided by the two-person crew and management's lack of response after they completed the job at a gated senior residence. The process was the pivotal factor that turned my experience into a negative one. The crew was unprofessional, inappropriate, and absent in their job - particularly on the second day. I have called and emailed management regarding their poor behavior this week. I still have not heard from them to update me on their progress in dealing/investigating with this poor quality of work. - Unprofessional: The crew had me pay in advance and tried to pocket doubled the estimated amount. Both crew and management denied the price discrepancy on Day 2. - Inappropriate: Both crew members were smoking on the job, and one even vaped indoors. One crew member was irritated and posturing towards facility staff at the end of the shift of Day 2. - Absent: One would continue to chat while I helped clean up the household items and did not respond well when I asked him to do his work, while the other walked around the premise and was reported to ask an elderly resident for a cigarette to smoke. If you are seeking their services, I would highly recommend partnering elsewhere - especially if you are in a vulnerable area. If the crew members are unsuccessful in stealing money from you and intimidating you, management will make sure to get your money's worth with the low-quality job from the crew the following day without taking accountability. Okay, I'll give them that the people at their customer service phone center, which is not part of this location, are excellent. They are very easy to get in touch with and they are friendly and seem to care when you're on the phone with them. That being said, I don't think I will use this company again. I booked online for pickup the next day, got a confirmation, so I assumed everything was fine. I didn't get a call at all during my appointment window, so I called to follow up, and only then did the customer support person let me know that they actually were fully booked that day, and would need to reschedule. It was frustrating that I had to call to find that out, instead of someone calling to let me know, but sometimes people are busy and can't get to the phone, so I totally get it. Like I said, the person on the phone was super helpful, and she rescheduled me for the next day, and confirmed that they had availability during my appointment time, so everything should've been fine. So then today, my appointment time comes and goes with no phone call again. So I call, explain the situation and the person is, again, really nice and says let me call the Sacramento location and see what's happening and I'll call you back. Then an hour goes by with no phone call, so I call AGAIN. This time, I explain that I've already been rescheduled, and called about my missed rescheduled appointment, and that I just need to know what's going on. The person on the phone is, as always, very nice and says okay, I'll call a few people while I'm still on the phone with you and let you know what's happening. So I'm on hold for close to ten minutes while she's calling, she gets back on the phone and says I'm so sorry, I can't get ahold of anyone from that location, and when I look at the schedule, they've blocked out the entire rest of the week, so we cannot reschedule. She offers to let me talk with her supervisor, in case he can give me any details as to why this is happening, but it's not their fault, and it doesn't really matter why it's happening, so I said no, it's fine, let's just cancel the appointment. It sounds like something happened at this location that was possibly outside anyone's control, which I totally get happens, so that's not my issue. My issue is that, without letting anyone who had a booking know what was up, they just didn't show up, and even their customer support team cannot learn what's happening to let anyone know. Had someone communicated when whatever happened happened, I would've had time to rebook a different junk hauling service by now, but because they didn't, I've had stuff sitting there for multiple days, expecting that it was going to be removed at some point. I was under the impression that they recycled/donated usable furniture to the Veteran's (from their website). I had to part with just about all of my furniture due to an imminent move to a much smaller place, some of it virtually new. They arrived with a truck already half full of someone else's stuff. They said they would take some, go to empty it, then come back for the rest. They started throwing my furniture over the top of the truck, so immediately I knew they weren't going to donate it, just dump it. When they came back, the rest filled a small portion of their truck, and they tried to charge me for a whole truckload. They agreed to cut it down by $100, but the total volume wasn't more than 1/2 of a load. I got charged $700 -$100, and then they wanted a tip on top of that! I'd never use them again. The crew are professional on time and efficient. They always call me before the appointment to tell me that they are arriving soon. They will even call to inquire if they can arrive early. I decided to use Junk King to pickup my junk. The charged me $ 218 to get rid of a good amount of junk. The staff are friendly but they asked if I wanted some other junk (tables and lamps) that were already on the truck??? That defeats the purpose?? Then They wanted to charge me an additional $30 to get rid of a broken television so I just kept it. I now understand why people illegally dump junk. I usually use the once a year free junk pick up but last time I did this I put the junk out on the curb and people went through it and made a mess. When the representative called me, it was clear he thought he was picking something up and then thought I needed an estimate.
