We bought all of our bicycles here and when there's ever a problem they've fixed flats very quickly and are always attentive. I recently had a bike rack that I bought years and years ago from them that had been on my jeep for so long that I had lost the keys, the rack was rusted, and the lock was broke and I swung by and they help me remove it. read more

Called up the shop just this morning to get two bikes disassembled and boxed for a one day turnaround. They explained that they are crazy busy and I explained that I was flying out Wednesday morning. Just stopped by to purchase a bike. 5 or 6 employees, and only 3 customers, but after 15 minutes not one person even acknowledged me, or even made eye contact. I waited at two desks with guys on the phone who ended up hanging up their calls and walking off without so much as an "I'll be right back" or " do you need help?" . I figured I was going to spend $500 on a bike. Amazing to me that the owner does not see the lack of customer service in his own shop. Business must be very good. Just not my business. read more

***The best service I ever had at a bike store, especially on a Sunday. I am 55 years old, ride road and mountain bikes about 100 miles per week, so to say the least I am familiar with bike shops***** The story.....I arrived for a week long vacation in Long Branch NJ only to realize my Specialized FAT bike (snow bike) had no brakes. Both the front and rear disc breaks had no hydraulic pressure. I quickly searched for a local bike shop and found one closer to where we are staying but they were not able to look at it this week due to their back log. So I shot over to Shrewsbury Bicycles (about 15 minutes away) on a Sunday. They were open from 12-3 PM. I waited on the service line for about 15 minutes where I was greeted professionally by a mechanic who I explained the situation to. He said let me take a look, through it on the stand and accessed the situation. Within a few minutes he realized both seals on the reservoirs were missing which is why I had no pressure. He happened to have replacement seals, installed them, added fluid and I was back on my bike within 20 minutes and only charged $21.00. The fact that he even looked at a disc brake problem on Sunday with about an hour left before close was amazing to me. The best bicycle store I've been to. I grew up in the area, and got a great Raleigh bike here in high school. Even though I live over an hour away now, I came back here years later when I needed a new bike. Unlike most other bike shops, they don't just cater to high-speed cyclists. They have a great selection of everyday bikes that can be used for commuting. I love that they have Raleigh bikes (my personal favorite). There's even a test track at the back of the parking lot you can use to try out a bike before buying it. I've also been here several times to pick up supplies - like helmets, lights and bike baskets. The service shop is good, too, with good prices and quick turnaround. The staff are knowledgeable and zero-pressure, and they'll find a bike for your budget and needs. Recommended! read more

I have called several bike repair shops in the area where I was vacationing. I was told they would not be answering their phones and if I wanted to drop my bike off for repair I could get it back in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks I would be heading back home and I so wanted to use my bike on this trip. Searched the web and found Shrewsbury with a 5 star Yelp rating. Their phone message simply said if you have a repair just bring your bike down. I did and within 20 mins I was out of there. The whole experience was one where I felt care for. Haven't received the greatest service here for a while, and now I just stopped going. They can service your bike, but can't turn around a simple tune up in less than a week. Really? They lost my odometer, claimed it wasn't on the bike when I brought it in (I never snap it off) and when I requested that they provide me with a new one, showed me a boxful of odometer pieces (presumably from similar situations) and asked that see if I could find a piece that fits mine. Sorry, but I don't call that good service. read more

My son got a brand new bike in September for his birthday. He is 12 and the front wheel had a nice wobble to it. I do not own a rim truing stand and could not fix it myself. Since the Corona virus is hitting at the moment I phoned them and they were open for repairs!!!! I got there and a young lady wheeled it into the back. She immediately wheeled it back because "it is not worth fixing, these bikes are disposable". I said well ok can you sell me a new front wheel? "No its not worth it these bikes are really just disposable". Um sure... I'll just throw a brand new bike that has been ridden exactly three times in the trash? On the other hand if you have an all graphite 5 thousand dollar bike I'm sure they will fix it for you. The dollar value will give you the service you need. Just call first and ask how expensive your bike needs to be for them to fix it?!?! I just need it fixed for my kid. (I wound up getting a new wheel on Amazon for $36 bucks, was prepared to pay around $100 to help them out during these difficult times as a local business). Maybe I'll open a new bike shop in the area, there is so much business this one turns people away! My problem is really; truing a wheel should cost "X" and a new wheel "Y". Whether or not I want to put that $ into a cheap bike should be up to me, the customer. Instead they basically said my son's bike sucks so they didn't want to even touch it (it was over $200 BTW, Shimano gears, disc brakes, and front and rear suspension)). Totally insulting. read more

The level of service I received at Shrewsbury Bicycles was absolutely amazing! I had ordered a Giant gravel bike online and had it delivered to Shrewsbury Bicycles, where they put it together and tuned it up. When I arrived to pick it up, they went over everything about the bike with me and patiently answered all of my questions. About a month later as my cables stretched a bit and the shifting got hinky, they re-indexed my gears in a matter of seconds. But all of that is SOP for most bike stores. What separates this shop from others I've dealt with is their sincere desire to help, and I never got the feeling they were too busy to take the time necessary. Even though there are other bike shops closer to me than Shrewsbury Bicycles, I intend to give them my business. For example, I'm going to get a compact crank for my road bike soon, and Shrewsbury Bicycles is my first choice for doing the job! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more
