SHS remediated my home for mice that we getting in my basement. Their technician Shawn was punctual, conducted a thorough inspection of my house. Found and took pictures of a number of troubling spots, He was courteous and explained everything so I understood my options. I made a decision for a strong pest barrier along the foundation and house. On install day, again he was right on time and did a really nice job. I would highly recommend Shawn and SHS to my friends and neighbors. I feel pretty confident the barrier will work well. read more

So far, withholding judgment but will write a full review once my pest problem (yellow jacket nest inside my basement!) is eradicated. I called and left a voicemail on Sunday (Business was closed - didn't expect a call back on Sunday). Called and left another voicemail on Monday soon after SHS opened - no call back within an hour. I called again around 9:20 and got a very helpful person who took my info and checked tech availability. We didn't know what insect was causing a hard "drip" and inches of a soft ceiling so we called SHS. They provided a tentative diagnosis based on the photos we sent. A technician came the next morning, went into our attic and found a really big old wasp nest with a new one being built next to it. He exterminated the new one and cleared both of the nests out. Big! The technician was professional, knowledgeable, thorough and really pleasant. The same is true for the woman who first took our call. An excellent company! read more

Have been using SHS Pest for a couple years. This May I once again asked for services to control carpenter bees in the rafters of my home. I wasn't home when technician came to spray. After looking at my Ring doorbell video I was shocked. The technician pulled into my driveway and was backing out again after only 2 mins and 49 seconds. The tech was supposed to bring ladders to spray the problem areas of my home. She did none of this. She simply stood in front of the house and sprayed it. After contactping the office to remedy the problem I asked that they not charge my card on file until situation was resolved. They offered to send out another technician. After a brief vacation I called them to schedule another service call. My call was never answered. Four weeks later they charged my credit card without my knowledge. I was always very satisfied with the results I got after SHS Pest Control treated my house but this year I was not happy with the company at all. read more

Had an inexperienced "tech" come out to remove a bee hive. He sprayed the air around their entrance from feet away and left. Guy was terrified to even get near them. SHS refused to send someone back out to do the job properly. We still have bees in the same spot. The technician also could not correctly identify the species. He seemed to believe that small bees were wasps, and treated it as such. Perhaps an identifing species class should be taught. Avoid. They clearly don't have well trained or experienced technicians! In response to their reply: Completely incorrect. Their "tech" spent a mere 2-3 minutes here. The BEES are still in fact around our overhang entrance. Our "property manager" has not been out to look as that would entitle him actually doing something. Which is exactly why there are lawyers involved, and he's in the process of possibly being fired by the residents. The BEES are still an issue, and my review stands. When someone is stung or hurt because of the refusal to properly remove the correct species, Ed August and SHS will be held legally responsible. Also to note. SHS refuses repeatedly to come out a second time even for a check. read more

I believe it was Christina who suggested we buy shell-less bird seed to keep the rats away. We never would have known that they like the shells and don't even eat the seeds. Horrible company to do business with. Rather than send a tech to diagnose an infestation issue (as I requested). They made an assessment only via telephone after asking for samples to be brought to their office. They eventually made a diagnosis (we later determined an incorrect one) and booked an appointment for a treatment. Their tech never showed and the company failed to return our calls. Called SHS to help with ant & wasp infestations. Before tech arrived at my house I found what I thought was the ant colony and sprayed it. No more ants in the house. Tech arrived & confirmed that I had indeed nailed the source of the ant infestation. No charge for that. Tech then investigated the wasp infestation, all the while explaining wasp (yellow jacket) behaviors. He located their hive, which was inside my roof, and applied chemicals. He said I could expect to see wasps for another 5 days, until all were killed. I saw one the next day, and then nothing since. The tech didn't try to push services on me, but responded knowledgably to my questions. I'm a happy customer, and will gladly call SHS again. read more

Today we had a bee/wasp preventative treatment to our house completed. The appointment was booked with short notice and it appears the technician did a thorough job. I used SHS Pest Control recently. The tech did a great job and nice guy, no fault there at all! Got the job itself done nicely. My issue is when I got the bill from the office it was a different price, as the tech said one thing and the office another. So I think you have a communication issue with techs to office. Talked to office lady who was very snotty when I asked about price difference..."does what I say matter"!....while yes it does but two people are saying different things lady. The owner was polite and finally gave me 10% off as I told her the issue. Also some other confusion, the office/owner insisted the wasps we're yellow jackets, not the case as I was there with tech and they we're not...period. Tech did not need a ladder or a suit as paper wasps not nearly as aggressive, he simply stood on step stool punched through ceiling and sprayed nest, then pulled it out and into a plastic bag...done. He then stood next to house an quickly sprayed entrance point, done. The tech told me they are paper wasps. I had a dead sample to look at and research, different body shape than yellow jacket. I was there with him and we talked about it and the nest he pulled out which is built a certain way, dish shaped. We had a HUGE cicada-killer wasp infestation that had been a problem for years. It was so bad we couldn't use our front door. With just one treatment, Michelle came out and took care of the problem. Within just two days, all of the wasps were gone, and there had been literally hundreds in 30+ nests all along the front walkway and driveway. I honestly would have paid twice the quoted price, which was very reasonable, and non-toxic to our pets (we have two dogs). Would highly recommend! read more

I had used SHS pest control for services in the past and had recommended them to many others. I recently had a problem and called them again. They did come immediately , but I was left in the middle of a problem being told "there is nothing I can do for you". I was not given all the information at the beginning and thought the initial problem was solved. When I called back to get the technician to come back to my house the office staff was rude and I was told more or less that it was my own fault for not continuing their services (was misinformed by them) and that it was my problem to deal with. I subsequently got help from a "handyman" willing to try to help me, not a professional pest control technician, and he was able to solve the problem. I feel SHS, as professionals, should have come back to my house to offer a solution. read more
