This is honestly the best Chinese Food Restaurant I've ever eaten at! I got General Tso's Chicken and I don't know how they cook it but it is delicious! I get fried rice with mine and usually I pour lots of soy sauce on my rice but with theirs I don't use any! The egg roll that came with this combo was great as well! We were very pleased with our meal! We ordered the orange flavored chicken (combo came with a yummy egg roll and pork fried rice), as well as general tzo's chicken (very tasty), steamed rice, crab & cheese wontons. and fried shrimp. It was so much food and served hot to go. Would definitely recommend! read more

George J, I'm not convinced that Richmond doesn't have better Chinese food than this, but if you're here in Mathews, you're not going all the way to Richmond for Chinese, so moot point. Good food, very friendly service! It's a small town, strip mall Chinese food place. You've been to one, you know what this one is like, down to "we also serve chicken wings". Why is it that these places always serve wings as well? That's so strange. The place is always clean and friendly enough to sit in and eat (an employee might engage you in casual conversation, which is nice), but I agree with George that it's really more somewhere that you go to for takeout. read more

I'm giving this place a "5" within category, which is a takeout Chinese restaurant. No atmosphere to speak of, and a few tables up-front. But primarily a takeout place. The food is excellent. The portions are respectable. The service is friendly and quick. The place is very clean. The prices are reasonable, and the lunch specials are a downright bargain. What more could you want? We've been eating takeout from Shun Xing for about four years and never have been disappointed. It's located right next to a Food Lion store and it's possible to miss it. Look for the "Post Office" sign. Parking is shared with the supermarket, although there are several spaces right by the restaurant that are supposed to be "Shun Xing Only". There's rarely any competition, anyway. read more

While visiting my parents in Diggs Va we had a craving for Chinese food. This was the only place for miles so we didn't have much of a choice than to try it.. SOOO GLAD WE DID! This place is 5 stars all the way from quality to quantity to customer service to price!! My vegetables were light & fluffy with the perfect blend of garlic sauce which is rare to find (most dishes are loaded with sodium & weighed down with grease). My daughter just asked if they deliver to Massachusetts lol we'll definitely be back here next time we visit :) read more

We live in Mathews and this is one of our favorites. The food is excellent, fresh and delicious, and the service is great. We have never been disappointed in many years of getting takeout. In particular, I love the wonton soup and the egg rolls. If you want a quick, inexpensive, lovely meal to go, this is the place. read more

Unless your desperate give it a miss. I hit it about once every 6 months and always end up saying never again. On the last two visits, shorted on egg rolls ,no big deal. Most recent shorted a meal ,bags are always stapled shut so you don't realize your shorted til you get home. Called to ask for a refund or credit all of a sudden they don't speak English so good. Visited the next day was told we have cameras in kitchen ,was offered a replacement meal no refund or credit acted like I was trying to cheat them out of $8. I told them to suck it from the back. read more

Very disappointing. We stopped in and placed to go order.... We waited 40 minutes for our food! I asked for duck sauce - they had run out. When we got home, I found that they had forgotten the crispy noodles. The food was not that good. I would not suggest this restaurant. read more

We ordered chicken fried rice and it was the most flavorless dish I have ever had. Chicken, rice and onions. No other vegetables and absolutely no flavor. Won't go back. read more

For a take-out kind of restaurant, this place is very good. About 6 tables if you choose to eat at the restaurant, which my family did and had a good dinner at a fare price. Would return again for sure read more
