We never felt rushed at any of the stops. Even the breakfast and lunch were good! Dale is very friendly and an easy person to spend the day with. He treated us as if we were long-time friends. I have zero complaints but lots of great memories of our day touring Yellowstone.

Dale was shocked that we didn't see any bears that particular day because they are so common. We saw waterfalls, canyons, geysers and way more. One of the guides, Jamie, was very rude to other guests in the park. He would set up his spotting…read morescope in front of other people visiting Yellowstone, and he tried to gatekeep spotting animals. At one point he seemed to spot something and showed his clients. When a public visitor asked him what he was looking at, he made several rude remarks and refused to show others. I talked to some other guides and they were very kind, but Jamie needs to recognize that Yellowstone is a public park and he doesn't own any of the viewing spots. I would never support a company with employees as rude as Jamie. Also, this company doesn't actually "track" wolves. They drive to parking spots and set up spotting scopes to view them from very far away. You can easily do the same thing on your own; just bring/rent binoculars and stop wherever you see groups of other people looking. Here are some pictures I took on my own without the guides. Just get to Lamar Valley at sunrise and wildlife is everywhere! It's honestly more fun to talk to other guests and spot animals together instead of paying for a rude guide to show you and hide it from others.

He was also incredibly patient with our rambunctious kids, which made the experience much more enjoyable for our family. The snacks throughout the day were excellent and thoughtfully selected. The offerings ranged from blueberry muffins (which tasted like they may have come from a local bakery) to bison jerky. Sodas, tea, hot chocolate, and French press coffee were available throughout the tour. Hot drinks were served in stainless steel travel mugs, and water was provided in reusable water bottles that we got to keep--a nice touch that fit well with the company's environmental focus. Lunch was fantastic. The Mediterranean and elote salads were generous enough that we wished we had a way to take leftovers home. The mufaletta sandwich was piled with a generous amount of lunch meat and cheese. The kids also enjoued their PB& Js. The brownies were absolutely divine. We also appreciated that the meal was served in stainless steel bento boxes with real silverware rather than disposable containers, which felt very consistent with Ecotours' name and mission. I can't forget to mention the washable tablecloth and napkins. We enjoyed the viewing hatches on the vehicle. While we only had one opportunity to get close enough to wildlife to really use them, they were a fun feature. Our kids especially loved being able to see out the back windows and open them for a better view. Overall, the tour was well organized, comfortable, and family-friendly. The combination of excellent guiding, great food, thoughtful amenities, and a commitment to sustainability made it a memorable Yellowstone experience.

I take picking out tours very seriously, because I hate taking them. I'm one of those people who likes to do things themselves, make my own itinerary, and being on a tour means other people dictate what I want to see. I did a lot of research and found a company I liked. However, the price was a bit outrageous and when I saw my hotel offering the same tour, with pick up from the hotel, not the middle of town, I took a chance. Well, that chance paid off really well because we had a fantastic time. Backcountry Safaris will sometimes use other companies because of demand and we actually were paired with Gus from Teton Wilderness Tours. If this happens to you, don't fret. It was amazing and I will cherish the memories we made with this day for years to come. We did the half day, sunrise Grand Teton Tour. We were the only ones on the tour that day so it felt very exclusive and it was like we paid for a private tour. Gus did everything he could to get us to see wildlife. We got some great shots of moose and we even saw 3, yes 3(!), bald eagles. We also learned a lot about the area and it's history. Highly recommend!
