This is a small shop and we were there about closing time, but the very nice florist did an amazing job coming up with three marvelous bouquets. They were fresh and really well put together. I've never been to a florist that did not put ferns and baby's breath to help the presentation of a bouquet, and I've definitely never been to one that charged $4 per stem for carnations. So I respond with "I don't know, 30-50 bucks?" This lady then proceeds to LAUGH in my face and walks me up to a bunch of OLD WILTED flowers. STRIKE 2. I see one I like and suck it up as it's late on Valentine's Day and I needed them. "How much are these?" "$85" "Ok I'll take those" "Are you sure, they're $85?" Yes I'm sure.... I just asked and confirmed. Anyway long story short, they laugh in your face and then insult you. Shu's successfully helped me deliver a gorgeous thank you bouquet to a dear friend at her office in New York City. The "Independent" arrangement I chose for her elicited the following comment accompanying a photo of the flowers on Instagram: "[Miriam] knows how to send flowers better than all the boys I've ever dated." To which, of course, my reply was #MissionAccomplished! I love modern, unique flower arrangements that I can easily purchase online. Shu's gets high marks for both. I chose the "Independent" because it promised to incorporate tropical flowers or a succulent (both of which my friend loves) but they also have a lovely selection of orchids, terrariums and unusual arrangements like preserved roses in a box. I also appreciated Shu's excellent communication, calling me when they couldn't deliver the day I ordered because it was too late and quoting me the time they would deliver the following day. I ordered an arrangement for a colleague's birthday over the phone. I specified the arrangement that I wanted based on what was advertised on their website. When the arrangement came in, it was NOTHING like pictured. The flowers were not even remotely close to what was displayed. The vase is not what was promised (and it does not indicate anywhere on the website that the vase will be different and I was not told over the phone when I ordered it). Note that I even upgraded the arrangement to $100! I called them upon receiving the arrangement thinking they sent us the wrong one. I spoke with Dallas and she said no, that is the right one. She was rude on the phone and asked "have you ever ordered flowers before?" She says the flowers she used are expensive, but it obviously wasn't $100 worth, not even $20 worth! I called from California very last minute yesterday to order a bouquet for a friend's birthday, and they came through FABULOUSLY. My friend sent me a photo of the bouquet they delivered, and it is exquisite!!! Price point is not cheap (although any good quality florist is a little pricey), but it was well worth it, because they are gorgeous quality, and very special looking (a nice variety of beautiful flowers thoughtfully arranged). I let the woman on the phone choose the flowers (she suggested whites & pastels, which was perfect), because I could tell from the pix on their website that anything they did would be tasteful. This place has the worst customer service of all florists in NYC. Save yourself time and avoid this place at all costs if it is still in business. My mother-in-law bought 4 Topiary trees in nice white ceramic containers. We put them on our window sill and about a week later one of the trees had lost all of its leaves and died. I called the flower shop and they said to return the plant for a replacement. I gladly dropped off the plant and was told I would be called when the new topiary arrived. Weeks went by then one month and a half later I called and they said they were still waiting.. 2 months later they said a replacement was there and to come pick up.. here's the scam.. Now they wanted $75 dollars to replace the plant. I explained the situation. He language skills were not great but she understood the situation and said she would take my number and "call her boss". The replacement plant was right in front of us, in the window for sale! planted in a cheap plastic container, probably under watered. It would probably not survive another week if someone buys it. I have not received a call yet and will contact the Better Business Bureau as it seems this place is pulling a scam and treating customers like manure. Avoid this place ! Save your money and time. New Yorkers deserve better. read more

I had high hopes for this place after the reviews. But i was quite disappointed with how things turned out. I went in asking for a $70 budget bouquet. I expect it to be $70 worth. Instead, i got flowers that wilted in less than 2 hours. The bouquet was meant for such a special event for my sister and instead of feeling proud for gifting a nice bouquet, I was feeling down about having to hand her over a bouquet of droopy looking flowers. A customer requesting a certain price of product means they should deserve that value in return. read more

Ordered and received Mother's Day flowers ... three of the four roses were WILTED and other flowers were at various late stages of bloom / droopy. Since we live in the neighborhood, we bought the bouquet back and they gave us a hard time about the wilted roses - "that is its color". No roses have brown edges - only the dead ones do.
