We first worked with Rick 6+ years ago when we moved into our home. He installed shutters in our bedrooms and office, and they've held up beautifully. I remembered how professional and on top of everything he was, so I reached out again when we needed blinds for our bedroom. Jeremy and Parker came out for measurements and made the whole process incredibly easy. They walked us through options, gave thoughtful suggestions, and provided an estimate. All in about 10-15 minutes. About two weeks later, they returned for installation and were done in under 5 minutes. Everything was seamless. The best part is how it turned out. It's exactly what we envisioned, if not better. We now have automated blinds in our bay window that give us privacy while still letting in light, and they look so clean in person. They even upgraded us to a system without a visible battery pack, which made a big difference aesthetically. Truly some of the best in the industry. Friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. They came in with plenty of samples and helped guide me color wise and with the type of blind we were looking for. They spent quite a bit of time with us and at the end of everything selected beautiful blinds for throughout the house. We also had verticals done for the sliding glass door. They were not the most expensive, but they were not the least expensive. They were very reasonably priced. Spent a good 30 minutes, measuring and remeasuring all the windows, since we are in a mobile home the windows are different sizes. When they are ready to leave and had selected our Blinds, they went over everything again and gave us a date for delivery. The date was prompt, the blinds came in and installed. The Installer, Gerard was in constant communication regarding the date to install the blinds. Texted us like he said 15 minutes before he arrived. He was very neat, installed every blind in the house and went over the instructions on how to use our blinds. I have never been more satisfied with a company as I was with Budget Blinds of Whittier and our installation. My wife and I made our order and paid the down payment on March 16th. We were told there was a chance we would get some of the order within 2 weeks and potentially could take up to 6 weeks for delivery. We never received an update after weeks passed, and after my wife tried calling and emailing multiple times we received one email a month later saying they would check status on our order...then we did not get a text until May 6th saying status was delayed. We've tried calling and texting multiples times with no response for the last 2 weeks and now we are coming on 10 weeks with no blinds and no status on where our order is. This is extremely frustrating especially with our down payment (50% up front). It does not seem like this is the norm for this company but our experience has been terrible so far. Hopefully they can make this right.

CEMAC deserves ALL the stars and positive reviews, they really came through for me with a recent…read moreLuminette shade repair when they weren't even the original installer!! I've been a loyal Hunter Douglas fan/customer for decades now and have had an overwhelmingly positive experience, but experienced a motor failure with one of my Luminette window treatments back in 8/2025. I contacted the HD retailer that I purchased the treatments from but learned that (1) it was out of warranty and (2) the Gen 1 motor/parts were discontinued as there was a "new generation" that was introduced in 2019. Supposedly, the only option was to order a new motor + track at $$ cost and attempt to reuse the existing fabric vanes. Based on that recommendation I placed the order for a new motor + track only to be told that due to a "parts shortage" the new motor + track would likely not be available until late 10/2025. This seemed suspect to me, so I reached out to CEMAC for a second opinion and connected with Gwen who informed me that she wasn't aware of any delays with orders and more importantly warned me that a new Gen 2 motor + track would NOT be compatible with my existing fabric vanes. Turns out that some Hunter Douglas rep may have provided inconsistent or incorrect information to my original dealer, but I obviously decided to cancel the replacement motor + track order immediately. I was then informed that my only option is a order a brand new system (motor + track + vanes) at a $$$$$ cost, which didn't make sense as it would end up looking.... exactly the same---such a complete waste of money and a huge disappointment that HD would not offer support for such expensive products. This is where Gwen stepped in to go above and beyond and the save the day. She was able to source a replacement Gen 1 motor directly from Hunter Douglas even when my original installer was unable to. Cost factor aside, it's also the practical and logical approach to attempt repair first as my fabric vanes were in perfect condition and it would be silly to unnecessarily replace. When the replacement motor arrived, we discovered that one of the components on the track was also damaged (likely due to the motor failure). Gwen proposed sending in the track to an authorized HD repair facility to see if it could be repaired, and only ordering a new system as a last resort. I SO appreciated this approach as it would literally save $$$$ (thousands!) if I could avoid having to order a new system. Happy to report that the repair approach worked and they were able to fix the track so that the replacement motor worked!! I had been living a fishbowl life for the past 3 months (every person/car that passed by could see clearly inside my kitchen/living area) but my exhibitionist Life of a Showgirl era is finally over! Endlessly grateful to CEMAC and Gwen in particular and will reach out to them first for any future window treatment (and it turns out flooring as well!) needs--highly recommend!!! ‍

The installation tech was also great, very professional and experienced. Everything went ahead of schedule. The installation tech noticed a minor issue with one of the blinds (which we did not even notice), and CEMAC had a new replacement blind made and the tech came back out and quickly reinstalled. This was all free to us, and we did not have to request anything - CEMAC suggested it to us because they stand by their products and workmanship. This is the kind of company I like to do business with. The blinds themselves look great and are super well-designed, we really like the options to open from the top or bottom, and we no longer have to deal with cords. Definitely recommend CEMAC as well as Hunter Douglas blinds!
