I read exciting reviews on this place so decided to stop for dinner. First impression was it was cute and would be good. I went off the recommendation of the wet burrito and my husband the beef tacos. What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! No flavor whatsoever. Just add some salt and it would be 10x better. The rice was almost mushy. The beans were bland. Salsa was okay. Better than the beans and meat and rice. No seasoning anywhere on important items. However, redeeming factor was the soft corn tortillas. So good and fresh. You can tell they make them there. I personally would not go back. Next time ill pass. read more

If i could give this place negative stars i would. First off, what is it with the taco bell lettuce and tomatoes?! Where's the cilantro or onions?? Secondly, Y'all don't put a little salt and pepper? ANY seasoning? I never understood cubed chicken in a taco, burrito maybe but not a taco. The Rice? (If i should even call it that) cold, no peppers. Mushy and over cooked and BLAND. I don't see HOW this is AUTHENTIC. The taco trucks in Amarillo, TEXAS makes this taco truck look like a highschool cooking class. Please do better. I stopped here when I first moved to Colorado 3 years ago and just loved it. Been wanting to stop by again but we would always pass through late at night so this time it was during the day and we stopped. Ordered just 4 tacos of asada and 35 minutes later after we saw people come and go we get out 4 tacos. They weren't fancy special tacos just tacos so why it took that long? Who knows! Would have been given 5 stars had prices been a little more consistent because food quality was really good if you are tired of the chain fast food stops on the road. And let's face it: this area between Texas and NM is not exactly a foodie's destination. I had a single taco ($2) and a side of beans ($4.25). Taco was good. Soft corn but street taco size so if you aren't like me and don't eat like a toddler, get the 3 taco plate. Beans were pretty basic but tasty and large portion. Still overpriced for .25 worth of beans. They also threw in rice but it was mediocre and dry at best. Def needs some beans or enchiladas to moisten it up a bit. My dude had a chicken burrito ($4.50). Definitely the best bang for the buck. Good size for the price. Dude is a pretty big eater and this was enough. Says it was pretty good too. Kiddo had a plain hamburger with ketchup ($8) and fries ($4.50). Really good hamburger. I took a bite so I could review. Nicely charred and at least a 1/4 lb of meat. Bun was soft and good. Would be way better with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Fries were the standout. Corn starch coated so they have a super crunchy exterior and soft, fluffy interior. To sum up: Stick with the burrito if on a budget, hamburger and fries if you have the beans to spend on a pretty dang good burger, or one of the plates. Skip the sides. Very nice people,but unfortunately food is terrible. Very bland food- we were expecting more authentic Mexican food since it's out of a truck. I ordered "street tacos" which came with lettuce, tomato, and cheese- no cilantro, no onions, no cabbage. Their marinated pork was very greasy and tasted like straight chili powder, but at least had flavor compared to their asada burrito. Their salsa very bland too so you couldn't even add it to the food to give it better flavor. Beans, I honestly think come from a can, but the rice was decent and had some flavor. On our way to Colorado and in desperate need of tacos we stopped at this food truck with a ridiculous name and hoped for the best. Burrito for 3.75 is hard to beat and it didn't disappoint we each got one of the meat options and they were all fantastic. I got the pork and would definitely get it again. This is a great little stationary "mobile" restaurant (or food truck or roach coach -- whichever you prefer). Very good breakfast burritos with a salsa that has a real kick! Had the hand held burrito with beans instead of a meat. Just had extra refried beans. It still wasn't bad. The red sauce (would have had green but a choice was never offered) was very good. It's an odd thing to complain about, but the woman who took my order kept on wanting to charge me the $7.00 for the burrito plate instead of the $5.00 for the smothered burrito plate. The prices are right there on the menu, but she wouldn't back down. So I just swallowed my pride and ordered the hand held burrito ($3.50) instead. When she came out I tried to show her on the menu the price but she didn't look at it , saying "burrito plate $7.00". And literally shut the door in my face as I was politely responding in mid sentence. I was disappointed to be treated in this manner. It felt like discrimination. So anyway, if you go here, you're risking the same treatment. It's kind of a punch in the face when you go out of your way to support a local business and end up wishing you had gone to Dairy Queen instead. read more

Had a sausage breakfast burrito on my way to Pueblo. Large with lots of ingredients in perfect ratios to each other. Watch out the fresh jalapeños are HOT! The burrito was a little, and I mean little, dry, but the provided sauce made it perfect. And it was a good sauce. I'll make sure I stop here on my way back. read more

I come to Clayton about once or twice a week for work. Previously I would just stop by subway or Dairy Queen for something quick. One day on the way to subway I saw this place and noticed they accepted credit cards. I never carry cash so this was a big plus for me. Got down and couldn't decide between a burrito or fajitas. Looking at the menu I was pretty surprised at the prices. For a steak fajita with beans rice and chips and salsa it was only $7 and the burrito was only $3.50. I decided heck with it when not get both and I'm glad I did. The fajitas came out nice and hot and was a hefty portion. In fact I didn't even finish the rice much less touch my burrito. The service was pretty quick I was the only one but it maybe took 7-10 min. They have tables you can sit at if you want to sit and eat. Overall some of the best most reasonably priced fajitas I've had in a while and I say this coming from a town with only Mexican restaurants. I'll definitely be eating here every week. read more

My husband had the taco plate which he said was very good and authentic. I had the breakfast burrito. It was delicious and very filling. What a deal for $5.50. Glad they serve breakfast all day. It's a long twelve hour drive from Colorado to Texas and often hard to find a good place to eat that has quick service, so we were pleased to find this food truck. We never like to take long for meals on the long drive so this was great. We sat at a picnic table in the shade and it made a nice lunch stop. read more

This is some of the best New Mexican food anywhere. Boasting the hottest green chile you can get without a permit and quesadillas filled with real cheddar cheese, this is the ultimate lunch stop. Just picked up lunch here while passing through Clayton. Didn't really expect a lot since it's a food trailer (though being from Austin I know food trucks can produce amazing food) but was greatly and pleasantly surprised. Delicious! I couldn't understand why it took so long to get some tacos and a burrito, but once we got them, I understood. Everything seems to be freshly made to order, including the taco shells. And the tortilla for the burrito was heated on the grill rather than just pulled out of a warmer. I hope on the trip home we roll thru Clayton in time for a meal.
