So far the best Thai food in town! If you don't mind the drive to Carpinteria this is the place I go to when craving Thai cuisine. You can feel the love and care that the family put into this place. The flavors, the atmosphere, the cleanliness and their welcome make us come back every time. The food tastes authentic, the service is excellent. We usually get a hot and sour vegetable soup, tofu fried rice, chicken satay, and stir fried asparagus mushrooms. The condiments sauce goes well with dishes here. They have a nice little patio and indoor seating as well Parking-street parking Service- welcoming and was seated fast. waiter was very nice and wait was not too long. They did check on me few times to make sure I was satisfied and had everything I ordered :) overall quick and polite Food- 10/10 I ordered the spicy egg noodle combo meal which comes with choice of side soup or salad. Plate includes appetizer one spring roll, two wontons, and one shrimp egg roll, rice and choice of entree(chicken/beef/pork/tofu/vegetable) . I love Thai food and this place was traditional and pretty authentic Price-reasonable and believe we'll worth it for portion and quality of what you get Overall was very pleased. Came down for round two of the Avo Fest and they were giving out some tasty samples. Those were good enough to turn back and go in for lunch. My yellow curry dish was rich and full of flavor. Cutest kid's meal I ever seen at a Thai restaurant. They even cut the orange to make it so easy for kids to eat it. My 7 year old agreed that her pad see eew is very delicious. We also had pad Thai , no peanuts due to allergy, and they were very careful about it. The combo came with soup, etc is a great deal and also delicious! Delicious food and good service. They have a couple of really cool covered wooden dining areas outside - but the other tables have slats and make the plates shift and move. We were going to camp at Carpinteria Beach and wanted a warm meal before we went in. I'm so glad we stopped here because this place was fantastic! It's a small place but the service and food were excellent! The hosts were very welcoming and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were doing well. We ordered the Chicken Panang Curry and Poh Tak Soup with sides of rice. The Curry was spicy and delicious! The best we have tried so far, and the Poh Tak Soup had a sweet flavor with a little bit of spice. Make sure you stop here! You won't regret it! read more

Been going for years! I especially like the combo plates because they include soup and an entree as well as two or three appetizers. Their Tom Kha Kai is the best in town and their Thai tea is very good. The service is always with a smile and because we have gone for so many years they know us and take good care of us. The only downside is that the prices have gone up pretty significantly in the past few years. I guess that's the cost to the customer of a restaurant becoming as popular as this one. read more

We vegetarians are so used to finding 2-3 veg-friendly items on a menu, it feels like we've hit the jackpot when there's a whole page's worth of food that we can eat! Our party of 6 came here for a post-beach dinner while in Ventura for the weekend. Fortunately for us, 1) this place was open on Easter Sunday, and 2) there was available seating even though we didn't have reservations! We were greeted immediately, and seated within 5 minutes. Decor: tasteful, warm, welcoming and beautiful setting, looks like art and furniture you might find in Thailand. Service: we were helped by our host, the woman who took our order, and a few servers and bussers; each was friendly and responsive. Food came out in a timely manner, and even the support servers knew who had ordered what. Food: This is very possibly the BEST thai meal I've ever eaten. Our order consisted of spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, tom kha soup, pad see iew, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, massaman tofu curry, and (for our token meat eater) massaman curry. Every single dish was a stand-alone example of perfection. The soup had lovely undertones of various spices, creamy base, lots of yummy fresh veggies. Couldn't decide if the pad see iew or the massaman tofu was my favorite. The noodles in the pad see iew were perfectly cooked, and the balance of noodles to tofu couldn't have been better. The massaman curry was, again, well-balanced. The sauce was so good I could have drunk the rest from the serving dish! We've often had at least one dish with a fishy taste at Thai restaurants. Not the case with this meal. Each dish was beautifully presented as well. Carpinteria is not an easy jaunt from our home (almost 3 hours with no traffic), but I would be willing to drive up for dinner at Siam Elephant. Next time I'd love to try the pumpkin tofu curry, but will be hard-pressed to pass up any of the things we ordered this visit. Best solution is to go with lots of people, and eat family style! read more

Really great place! Sweet Thai decor inside and outside patio space with Thai inspired tea house seating. The waiter Mitch was great and it was an all together good experience. This was a forst for my 15 yr old stepson so he, my husband and I shared 3 lunch specials so he could try some different dishes. We had Pad Thai (chick), Pad See Iew (beef)and Red Curry (chick). Each special came with soup (best Tom Yum ever) or salad, egg rolls, wonton crisps and rice. I would absolutely go back and also recommend this place. read more

This place is an exceptional spot in midst the Italian, pizza, or small town dinners around. Their service was good, the food was excellent, I had a pork curry and my wife got a spicy noodles dish that was totally worth every penny. I'm from Los Angeles and have tried a whole bevy of Thai food restaurants in Thai town. Siam Elephant is in a league similar to any restaurant in Thai town. Their Pad Thai is probably the best I've ever had. Their Thai Ice Tea is the perfect amount of sweet! Their green beans in The Prik King were fresh and the spice was on point! I also tried the Seafood Fried Rice (yummy) and the hot pot soup was yummy too. Here is what I really loved and appreciated. I walked in with my son who is four. He isn't a picky eater by any means so I knew I'd find something for him to eat. I didn't have to worry about that at all. The waitress who sat us asked if I wanted a kid's menu. Ummm a what ma'am? KID'S MENU! I have NEVER been offered a kid's menu at a Thai restaurant. They had special REAL forks for the small hands and divided plates which they gave a salad and fruit to go with their entree. I was so excited about the service I haven't had the opportunity to order the sticky rice and mango and review it here! My only sadness comes from the fact that I live nowhere near here and will probably not have the opportunity to eat here again for a while.
