The worst Thai food We've ever had!! We ordered 4 dishes. Coconut chicken soup, chicken Broccoli, Mongolian beef and chili fried fish. The chicken in the soup and the dish tasted the same, tough with a weird pre cooked and rewarmed flavor. The beef was overcooked and tough. The fish is the only reason I gave this place one Star otherwise would be 0...Not sure if that's possible. This place was dirty the soup container was dirty the bathroom filthy. When our waiter asked if we wanted a container I wanted to tell him absolutely Not...I didn't but did tell him the chicken was horrible. He responded with Thank you. Will never go back. read more

Siam RIce II, where good stuff happens. Servers here are lightning fast and try to squeeze in a smile while speed walking from table to table. The venue itself is a bit dated and the parking lot can get a little hairy at times. Let's face it, the plaza ain't no pretty little thing either. Aside from that there aren't any major missteps that keep me from frequenting this place. Food here is good and the prices won't leave you feeling cheated either. Here are some of my go-to dishes: *Tom Kha Kai *Spare rib pork tips *Crispy squid *Beef pad see ew *Shrimp pad soon wen *Fried trout with the apple salad - YUM! I also like the cashews mixed in, a definite must try if you like fish My dad will bring in trout he caught from Castaic Lake and give them to the kitchen. In return, they hook us up with some fish dishes and usually a salad - pretty sweet. Also, if you're a fan of Thai tea make sure to order one here, it's really good! Anyway, be sure to check this place out if you've ever wondered about it. They also do delivery if you are feeling lazy. Just make sure if you're calling in an order for pick you don't order from the Canyon Country location. The second best Thai restaurant in SCV! I like Siam Rice II very much. If I'm in the area or this is a friend's pick, no problem. I'll come here and usually leave satisfied. Back in the day, before I was vegetarian, I used to love their BBQ Chicken--it was very tasty! I still like their Coconut Soup, Pineapple Fried Rice and their Curries. If anything, they use a bit too much fish sauce for my taste--leftovers almost always smell and taste quite fishy to me, even when no seafood is ordered. Their noodles also seem a little greasy to me. I like their Papaya Salad--but Holy Flying Fire Balls! The last several times I've ordered this I'm waiting for spontaneous combustion to burst out somewhere along my digestion track. This stuff is HOT, even when ordered mild. (And no, I did not eat one of the peppers that could easily be mistaken for a green bean.) The first time I ordered this, it was wonderful. Thereafter, the innocent enough looking plate was actually a disguise for an inferno of Thai spices. Go for it if you like extra spicy food! I also enjoy (a bit too frequently) their Mango and Sticky Rice--it certainly gives Mom Can Cook's Mango and Sticky Rice a run for its money. All said and done, it's a good pick! My gf surprised me by driving down from Santa Barbara last night to meet me when I was about to leave the office. We were both ready to enjoy our Friday night and start with dinner. We decided to go to one of my fav hole in the wall Thai spots. It wasn't that busy for a Friday evening dinner rush. We sat down at a booth and waited a bit for our server to take our drink order. We asked for a couple Thai iced teas. They were very watered down and was lacking flavor. We then waited some time for our MIA waitress to come back and take our order. Lindz ordered us the house specialty Siam rice noodles, crispy garlic calamari, the fried fish w/ peppers, & steamed rice. The calamari and Siam noodles came out first. The noodles were tasty but portions were unusually sparse. The squid was overcooked, and again it seems the cook didn't feel like generously plating this dish. (Maybe they didn't order enough food for the weekend...lol) We found it odd that we didn't get the rice we ordered with our initial offerings when they came to the table. Our fried fish plate finally came out and again...no rice. I asked the waitress about our steamed rice and she said that I didn't order any... The fish was embarrassingly exactly flavored and prepared like the squid. Same flavor profile even though the description on the menu said otherwise. I pleasantly said that I had ordered steamed rice with our meal and can I get some. It took her a bit to bring us steamed rice. By that time our entrees were nearly consumed and enjoying our rice with our meal would be pretty moot. Needles to say, the food was average. The service was poor, and it will sadly put this Thai spot (that I had been eating at for more than a decade) in my list of places that I will only grab a bite if I'm desperate for an average Thai fix. I always come here with my boyfriend. We were regulars at Thai Dishes, but wet finally got fed-up with all the weird customers that came to that restaurant and the declining quality of food. The food at Siam Rice II is probably the best for Thai in SCV . It is super flavorful and seriously good. It feels like home cooking , almost like comfort food that you could eat anytime! They have great prices for the amount of food that they serve boyfriend and I will usually get one dish and that can be generously split between the both of us( which is saying a lot because we eat A LOT of food). My favorite is the Chicken Yellow Thai Curry; which comes with potatoes, carrots, onions, and other delicious veggies. You have to ask for rice, and the white rice is $1.00 extra (per table) but is UNLIMITED! I usually get a large Thai Iced Tea with Boba and consider this one of the best places to get this type of drink in SCV. The ambiance is a little outdated... Until I actually visit Thailand, Siam Rice is the standard by which I will judge every thai food experience I have. The ingredients are fresh. The food is excellent, the staff makes you feel like you are dining at their home, and you can't beat the price. Sure, the place is located in the ugliest strip mall on the planet. I would love to meet the architect and give him a good slap. Talk about butt-ugly...geesh! Most people probably don't even think about going to this restaurant due to the location, but once you hear about it and give it a try, you will keep coming back for more. The layout of the place is odd with a walk up take out counter on the lower level. You walk up stairs to get seated the dining area. The decor needs a major update, but I forget about all of it once the food is on the table and I get lost in the flavors and consumed with filling my belly. My usual order is the crab and cream cheese wontons to start and pad thai for my main dish. When I saw the bill last night, my jaw about hit the table. $30 for two people out the door! This is the spiciest Thai restaurant in SCV hands down. Just let them know that you're serious about the food being spicy. They think "oh you Americans don't know spicy" and even when you ask for spicy they don't really make it that spicy so you really need to drill it in them that you want your food super spicy. My Lady loves Siam Rice II - it epitomizes "Hole-in-the-Wall" Thai. Service is extraordinary - I mean it too - we walk through the door, and our waiter greets us and immediately puts in our order - before we sit down. Now, this is partly because my lady orders the same thing EVERY TIME (Po Tak - Seafood Soup), but alas, aren't we all creatures of habit? I digress, the food really is good - I love the Siam Rice Noodles, and the crab-cheese wontons are great too. If you like spicy ask for their green hot sauce. The curries are all very good too. The menu is extensive and there are many to choose from. The portion is fair but the price is even better. Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!!! So, if you folks from out of town happens to wonder into SCV or visiting Magic Mountain and your craving for Thai, then you need to go to Siam Rice II. You won't regret it. If you are looking for this place, you really need to look very careful. It's hidden. It's situated between a tire store and a karate school. It's non descriptive in their decor but then the decor isn't what their known for. Staff is fast and courteous. I have read reviews on this Thai food joint by a lot of people, took me two years of exploring their menu and at times altering their recipe to my own taste which they were kind enough to oblige. I must say they have the best flavor and variety of dishes to choose from. Each dish has its own individual taste and no two things are the same like some other restaurants. In short it's great value for your money, one needs to understand that this is not a five diamond resort so being too critical about is not right. It attains five stars based on its food, quantities, friendly service, decent space to sit without being cramped and very prompt food delivery that I have so far experienced. Came a little late but understandable because we were almost 6/7 miles away. My pad see ew (with tofu) was a little cold but still delicious! The portions are pretty big, I couldnt finish. The food is super good here and I cant wait to try the combination fried rice next time. The price range is fair (actually i think on the cheaper side compared to other thai places.) I have been coming to Siam Rice II for years. This is a classic and my coworkers and I try to make it here at least once a month. Their food is always hot and delicious. The staff is always gracious and almost can predict our order every time. We normally eat "family style" and order a variety or plates with a soup or a salad. My favorite soup there is the po-tak. They can make it with different levels of spicy and the seafood is nice a tasty. Another favorite is the panaang. Make sure to order it extra spicy. One other secret that others might not know is that they offer a green sauce. It's like a garlic chilli sauce that tastes wonderful with most of their foods. read more

One of my two favorite Thai places in SCV. Unlike the dismal Siam Rice I on Soledad, Siam Rice II on Railroad is delicious. They have curry, soups, rice dishes, noodle dishes, Thai barbeque, and more. Everything is wonderful. My favorite dishes at Siam Rice are any of their noodle dishes and the coconut milk soups. The sauces have great depth of flavor, and everything is always well seasoned. Siam Rice also happens to be home to my favorite mango sticky rice, (edging out my other favorite Thai place, Mom Can Cook.) The one complaint I'll make is this: The chicken in their soup, noodle, or rice dishes is low-quality dark meat leftovers. They're a bit dry and occasionally gristly. I generally order all these dishes without meat. However, their actual chicken dishes, like chicken satay and barbeque chicken, are first rate. The service is always friendly and speedy. My friends and I are seated promptly and our order is put in just as soon as we're ready to order. Definitely try Siam Rice! It's among the best hole-in-wall restaurants in SCV. read more

I can't come here without trying a least 3 dishes: Duck Noodles, Panang Curry, and Pad Thai. I rate every Thai place by their Pad Thai, usually if that's good, most other items on the menu will be good. This place passes with probably one of the best Pad Thai's I've ever eaten. My favorite dish here though has to be the duck noodles, I can't even share this plate without giving you a dirty look. The absolute best lunch spot in all of Santa Clarita. You know a restaurant is good when it has "2" in the name. Incredibly fast, super friendly, prices are a good deal, and the food is ON POINT. I live in Sylmar and frankly it's always worth the drive up for a treat. The wonton soup is nice and peppery, the pad see ew is generous on the protein, and the spicy beef soup is some of the best I've ever had.
