We frequent this little gem at least once a month, and have yet to get a meal that was less than wonderful. Personal faves include the Massaman Curry (creamy, not too spicy, great for those who are new to thai), the Tom Yum Gai spicy chicken soup, Pad Thai (they do justice to a classic), and if you just want a little something, the chicken satay is generous and really, really good. You also really ought to grab yourself a Thai Iced Tea for an authentic accompaniment, or dig into a big bowl of *true* green tea ice cream (with raspberry sauce...mmm) for dessert as well. Lunch runs about $7-10, Dinner runs around $8-14 a plate. They don't have a dress code, but I wouldn't stroll in wearing shorty-shorts, if only out of respect. Ordered Beef Satay, Curry Puffs, and Pad Ga Prow. Under-impressed with it all. The Peanut sauce with the satay was runny, the meat was tough, and not well seasoned. The Curry Puffs were swimming in grease, and were mostly potato. The Pad Ga Prow (we ordered it with chopped beef), had very little beef, and had too strong a fish-sauce taste to be enjoyable. Place has been here awhile but I finally checked it out for takeout today. Menu is typical Thai. I've eaten a lot of Thai places considering I lived in NYC for 4 years. Vegetable spring roll order was good. I got the tilapia filet special which is tilapia sautéed in a ginger scallion sauce. Was excellent. Not too shabby. Gotta disagree with my fellow Yelper who says this is mainly takeout - they have a full-on dining room, larger than many nearby restos and just as cute as the competition, and even a bit more physically comfortable. Our apps were nondescript - the summer rolls and beef salad - and I don't see ordering them again, but the mains were delicious: massaman curry chicken and a stir-fried pork dish with green beans and carrots. My husband and I have tried all of the Thai food restaurants in the area-and so far our go-to Thai restaurant has become Siam Smiles. My husband frequents there more than I do though. He has odd days off, so sometimes he likes to treat himself to some green curry at Siam Smiles while I'm working (how dare he!! haha). So, while he gets to enjoy the delicious food @ Siam Smiles, I am stuck at work, but I won't hold that against him. There are a few times where I've asked him to bring me back some Pad See Ew (my favorite). So, to keep it short and sweet-Siam Smiles serves quality Thai food at reasonable prices. Though we've only done takeout from this establishment, I would eat there as well. The restaurant is small but nice, the atmosphere is pleasant. They seem to be quite accommodating as my husband likes his green curry a certain way-and they never bat an eyelash at making it the way he wants it. If you leave in Manalapan, Marlboro, Old Bridge, Matawan area and like Thai, it makes sense to go to this place. I didn't like the green papaya salad. Chicken satay was decent. The big surprise was my duck (no. 53 on the menu). I like it spice and it was. Tender with very nice sweet and sour sauce. My son ordered Pad Kee Ma and it was with shrimp and chicken. He liked it. I work a few minutes away from Siam Smiles - and I eat here about once a month. It's definitely my favorite Thai Restaurant in New Jersey and one of my overall favorites. The prices area very reasonable - and the food quality is top notch. The Thai iced tea is inconsistent here - but always good. I usually order the Red Curry Chicken, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Chicken with Basil, and Chicken with Pineapple and Cashews. If we order soup - I get the Tom Kha Gai or Tom Kha Gha. You can't go wrong with any of these menu items. I honestly love them all. My favorite dessert here is the Sticky Rice with Mango. Mmmm... but not always available. I'll have to be honest and say that I loved the original "NOODLES" the best (which was at this location before Siam Smiles and before Cafe de Thai) - but you'd have to wait a year and a day for food back then. The service time and service quality at Siam Smile is 100 times better. Definitely check this place out - you won't be disappointed. read more

Siam Smiles is the only place I know of that has tasty and affordable Thai prices - I will go out of my way when visiting relatives in Lincroft to go to Siam Smiles. It's that much better. You'll pay $11 for pad thai at dinner as opposed to a hefty $15 in Red Bank. read more

Went here with Matawan John about a week ago. Place is banging. It's hidden away in a rando strip mall. It's BYOB, and there happens to be a liquor store adjacent. This was the second time I have eaten here. The food is excellent, however I had a bad experience the first time with the staff. I checked my credit card statement and they fluffed my bill (meaning they added $10 more to the tip I originally left). I was heated by this incident and reported them. Small strip mall restaurant, with limited seating. Very friendly owner and accommodating. Service is a little slow and scattered, but I can overlook this because of the great food. We had the Thai salad which was unusual since it had potato chips with it and very little salad. Glass noodle soup was outstanding, so is the tom ka gai soup. This restaurant utilizes spices much more than other Thai restaurants I've frequented. The medium is what I got and its very spicy and the mild is spicy enough. I'd wager the very spicy would be"nuclear". The food is flavorful and delicious. The green, red, yellow and masoman curries are fantastic. A good selection of desserts. Great food, great prices and great portions. We got it to go so we can't really speak to eating there, but what we got was outstanding. For an area that is primarily made up of Italian restaurants, the other ethnic spots are pretty much golden. We started with the curry puffs which were very tasty (although a bit mushy) and then each got a noodle dish (pad thai and the siam noodle). As I said, the portion size was great and the pricing was very fair for what you got. The flavor was excellent and not too saucy, as many places often over-do. Extremely disappointing experience. Went there on a Saturday night. Place was almost packed and there were just 2 people attending to the guests. It took over an hour for the food to arrive and it was just standard menu items, not anything special. Food tasted good but that's about the only good thing about this place. I used to go to Thai Thai in Old Bridge but if I have a hankering for Thai, Siam Smile is my spot. It's inexpensive and the food appears to be made to order. Like the other reviewers said, it's a mom-and-pop type thai place and I like that. Ate there and have taken out and both were good.
