All were the best dishes I have ever had at any Thai restaurant and I should mention that Thai food is my favorite food. For lunch, you get your choice of coconut soup or spring roll. Both were delicious and fresh. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. Our waiter was so welcoming that it felt like I was eating at a friends house. Stumbled across this place on Yelp and decided to try it out. We arrived about 50 mins before closing and were greeted and seated immediately. We did feel a tad rushed but that is completely understandable because we showed up a little late. We ordered the beef drunken noodle, veggie/tofu panang and the spring rolls. A few positive notes: the food tssted fresh and flavorful. The spring rolls were delicious, the panang wasn't my favorite because it's not as sweet as I like but the tofu was cooked perfectly and the veggies were fresh. I also believe that I wasn't charged extra for the veggies or extra rice so they are generous. The drunken noodle's flavour was good and came with a lot of veggies but the noodles tasted a little over cooked/slimy. The negatives: although the server was very friendly at first in terms of suggestions. (I also do not think he was trying to be offensive) he started making some comments about assumptions about my guest and I because where we are from and our racial backgrounds..it was sort of awkward (I really dont think he meant any harm) but he kept coming back and talking with us and it was sort of hard to enjoy our meal. read more

Let me start off by saying the service here was outstanding... although we went and ordered take-out the owner's son (Matt) was very interactive with us and just really went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable while we waited on our order. Honestly, I would return off the service alone ! The restaurant itself is also pretty nice, lots of low lighting which creates a nice ambiance ! Best: Thai in Georgia Specifically the Pad Thai. Great rich flavor. We found this place by accident. Got off the highway to avoid an accident and get gas, and while trying to skip that section of interstate we decided to get dinner. Judging from the surrounding all Spanish and Bilingual signage in the area, we should've been looking for a great Mexican restaurant, but had that the night before. So we took a shot at this Thai place and glad we did. Fantastic Pad Thai, fantastic chicken and rice dishes. Ambiance wasn't much, but great value for the flavor. I don't know how I haven't reviewed this place before but hands down my favorite Thai I've had in Atlanta area. I want to branch out more and try more things on the menu but I can't help but get the pad thai every time I go because it's so good. My favorite is the vegetable pad thai. I have ordered the green curry before too and it's also excellent. I used to live and work in the area but due to covid I went a very long stretch without eating here. Completely underrated. This has got to be if not the best, then one of the best Thai restaurants in the Atlanta area. If you don't get how amazing this establishment is, you're a big ole hater and I don't need that kind of negativity in my life. The waiter who you're most likely going to get is Matthew, the owners son, and I am not over exaggerating on how nice and accommodating he is. He is absolutely fantastic. I can tell he really cares and thats refreshing and to be respected in my opinion. As a frequent diner of Thai Restaurant of Norcross, I can't believe that I missed this place all of those times. While Thai Norcross tends to get kind of busy, Siamese Basil across the street always has seats. Both are lackluster in terms of decor and age, and I prefer that. Anyone else equate holes in the walls to good food? While that not always proves to be true, it certainly is in this situation. What matters most is simply how good the food is. So lock your cars when you park and relax. And look, they have been in Norcoss a long time. The food is consistently good here and they're not afraid of spice. Mathew always asks your heat preference. He will bring little jars with spices without asking if you need more of a kick. Some of my favorite things are the Namtok salad, Tom Yum soup, Three flavor chicken and the Drunken noodles. We found this place on search in yelp and glad we did. Small restaurant but such authentic Thai food exceeded expectations. Penang curry of that taste reminds us of the first time we had and the texture, flavor, taste and the portion were all perfect. Drunken noodles were also made very tasty and flavorful. Delicious Thai food in a pleasant setting. We went on the strength of the Yelp reviews and were happy we did. I ordered the red curry with chicken and my partner had the basil duck; both were excellent. Their curry is rich without being cloying, and the chicken and veggies were cooked well. I wasn't sure of the spice levels, as it was my first time dining here, and ended up needing a little more kick to my curry. The waiter brought over a caddy of their condiments, and once I hit my plate with some more dried chilies and their chili sauce, it was perfect. Times like this one are when I am greatly appreciative for this site. My daughter and I had previously discussed finding a good Thai restaurant here in GA on several occasions. Time constraints due to our jobs would never allow us to venture out to find one. That is until now. The awesome reviews that we sifted through led us to this gem. We knew that we had to come here and we were so happy that we did. I mean happy like 2 kids at Christmas. We only saw and spoke with 2 employees of the restaurant. An older gentlemen and a younger gentlemen who greeted us at the front door. The younger one later identified the older gentlemen as his father. Both were so courteous and really made us feel welcomed as if we were at home. Not a feeling that you get so much nowadays at most places so it was greatly appreciated. I loved the atmosphere and soft flowing music playing in the background. I also thought the set up was great for family meals or you can sit in a booth to the left with your date for a more intimate setting. Our choices: Appetizer: Siamese Sampler $8 Entree: Massaman Curry (with pork & shrimp) $10.95 & Red Curry (with chicken & shrimp) $10.95 Dessert: Thai Sticky Rice with Mango $5 & Inferno Ice Cream $5 When we were asked by both gentlemen how our dining experience was we were literally at a loss for words. Everything exceeded our expectations. I'm talking eye rolling good. I haven't had an eye rolling meal in months and that last one was in my mothers kitchen prepared by her. Perfectly seasoned, nice medium heat, followed by some not too sweet desserts was a winner for us. To be honest, I am truly an ardent fan of Thai cuisine. I grew up loving curry dishes, especially those with authentic flavors when I was in Southeast Asia. My BFF and I came to Siamese Basil (SB) just in time for lunch since we missed the lunch hour here yesterday due to a long movie at AMC movie theater. This location is just off of Jimmy Carter Blvd exit off of I-85, a convenient and easy spot to find. When approaching the parking lot, I was quite leery of several pot holes at the lot. There was ample parking but right after the rain, there were many little swimming pools to watch out for. As soon as my BFF and I entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the server. He may also be the owner of the restaurant. The server went to get our drinks while we browsed through the lunch menu. It had some Popular Stir Fried dishes like Basil; Mixed Vegetables; Cashew Nut; Garlic and Ginger choices to pick from. All the dishes came with either a bowl of coconut soup or an egg roll. We both picked the coconut chicken soup. So glad we had the soup because the rich flavor of the coconut soup was a great start to a great dining experience. It had a wonderful flavor of rich coconut milk blended with Shitake black mushroom broth and slices of chicken strips. So glad it wasn't too spicy for me. We both love the coconut soup. Then there's the Thai Curries. There is the Red Curry; Green Curry; Massaman Curry; Panang Curry; Prik Khing; Amazing Flavor; Roasted Chili; 3 Flavor Chicken and Basil Catfish. Oh yeah, without a doubt, we went for the Massaman Curry and Amazing Flavor. It was definitely the right choice for us. The Massaman curry was simply delectable. It had sauteed Massaman curry infused with rich coconut milk, avocados and roasted cashew nuts. It had the right amount of sweetness and rich creamy Massaman sauce in it. The avocados were fresh and the roasted cashews made it even more delicious when eaten with the steamed rice. I would love it even more if there were more avocados added to the dish. Overall, it was very authentic and delectable. Next on the menu are Thai Rice and Noodles. These are Fried Rice; Pineapple Fried Rice; Pad Thai noodles; Pad See Ew large noodles; Spicy Basil noodles; Thai Curry Duck and Spicy Basil Duck. I love Pad Thai noodles. Pad Thai noodles I had was very tasty with its stir fried Thai noodles, fried eggs, tofu, bean sprouts and crushed ground peanuts. By squeezing the lime over the noodles, the entire dish came alive with a burst of zest. The tofu was tasty and not bland like most fried tofu are. There was sufficient Pad Thai sauce over the entire noodle dish and it was not too dry or oily. Since both our dishes tasted so good, we had to get Amazing Flavor with Chicken to go. This dish had a generous amount of chicken sauteed with a peanut butter sauce over a bed of broccoli and bean sprouts. An egg roll came with this dish with a small container of dipping sauce. The usual steam rice came with the meal too. We wanted to enjoy the mango with sticky rice for our dessert but it was not available because mango was not in season during the winter. Oh boo! Not to worry, Sweet Hut is only 4 miles away on Buford Highway. We will get to the Asian Starbucks (on steroids) soon. Our server was very attentive to our needs and came to check on our tea and water goblets several times. He also brought us extra spicy hot sauces. My BFF loved the spicy sauces added to his meal. That was the added value of a good server. The ambiance and the entire place was clean and nicely decorated with Siamese artifacts. I know we have found a wonderful Thai restaurant in Gwinnett and we do not need to drive into the city of Atlanta for our great Thai cuisine. I know we will most likely come back to SB soon to try the other dishes before we go to Top Spice or Thai Chili. Plus I am curious to find out how my next dessert with Fried Ice Cream do. If you want to have authentic Thai food and you don't care about how the restaurant looks, this is it!! Several of us were there to celebrate a Lunar New Year Day. Their dishes were amazing. Shockingly, we were only people dining in. There were a few people picking up take outs. Yeah, decorations weren't fancy and building is kind of rundown. We had amazing time regardless. We had only one server who probably is the owner of this place didn't say much. However, I could tell that he was doing his best to make us comfortable. We ordered about 10 dishes and desserts. Everything came out very quickly!! I wouldn't take your first date to this place but all of us enjoyed it very much. I will definitely come back here! I think I have a new favorite Thai restaurant! Yesterday, I was looking for a new spot to try in the Tucker area. I happened upon tons of great reviews for SB Thai on Yelp - shout out to John E, & Daniel B! As most of the reviewers have noted, the restaurant is located in a strip malll and the interior is simple. However, the food is delicious. I started with a very tasty seafood soup, and settled on the amazing garlic duck (see photos). The entree portion was large enough to have left-over goodness for lunch. Cost was $25 before tip. My server was Matthew who is the owners son. He was very polite and prompt. The owner himself was bringing the dishes out from the kitchen also. Service was excellent. Was looking for a good Thai place near me on Yelp for a special dinner with the bf. It sounded like Siamese Basil Thai was a hole in the wall gem in a somewhat sketchy looking strip mall, but everyone was raving about the food so much I decided we had to go there! First of all, the strip mall is really not that sketch, guys. Anyhow. We went in on Thursday night and the place was pretty empty, so we got our choice of seats. We picked a cozy booth in the sectioned off side area. Our waiter seemed to be the son of the owners. He was very attentive (although, it was pretty empty so hard not to be =)), and obviously very concerned about the satisfaction of his customers as well as their Yelp presence =). I got the Tom Yum soup, which was pretty good, and the bf got some egg rolls to start, which were also good. For the main course I got the basil pork and he got the pad see ew with tofu. The basil stir fry was very very tasty, and a pretty good sized portion. I often get pad see ew at Thai places, so tried some of my bf's to see how it was. Honestly, I thought it was good, but not great. Not the best I've had. Would personally order the basil again before that. But he seemed to enjoy it. Overall though, the place was great and I would definitely go again. Unlike many of the other reviewers, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best Thai I've had. We were lucky this place was still open when we got to it late after a work meeting. We were the only people in there and they were about to close, but Matthew took great care of us from the moment we walked in the door. The food was great, fresh, lots of options and got a full explanation of what was in everything before we ordered (I tend to ask a bunch before I'll commit to anything). We started with the Curry Rangoon, close if not identical to crab rangoon and most Chinese restaurants. It came out super quick and was piping hot, and the dipping sauce paired perfectly. Thanks to Matthew I now know that Massaman curry is my go-to, had them kick up the spice a bit and it was damn near perfect. I shouldn't have eaten the whole thing but I simply couldn't help my self. My partner got the tofu stir-fri and finished before I did! We ended with an Inferno Ball, which was cool because they lit it on fire. Always a crowd pleaser. Special shout-out to Matthew who not only took great care of us but did everything in his power to make conversation and otherwise welcome us like regulars despite never being there before. It is worth the drive. Gwinnett is home to lots of Korean and Chinese, but good Thai is lacking in this area. Siamese offers up great Thai food along with excellent service. This is a real deal family owned business. Mathew is the son of the owners and he is a doll. The strip mall area of the restaurant appears very sketchy, but don't be alarmed. The interior is very clean and real food gems tend to be in these kind of areas. We used to frequent the Thai Restaurant of Norcross across the street, but Siamese is superior on all levels and this will be our new place in Gwinnett going forward. read more

This is a great family Business. Our service was so good and he was so sincere, timely, and efficient. Since everything is freshly made, you can ask for a range of spicy or even thai spicy which is pretty damn spicy. But they run on the less spicy side than other places. The food runs on larger portion sizes but are still a competitive price compared to other places. I tried their massaman curry (around $10) and loved it. I would ask for a kick of spice though because mine needed it. Their coconut soup is a great appetizer with the rangoons or eggrolls. I highly recommend this place. Our waiter was patient and enthusiastic about the delicious menu and it really put her at ease. When the food came out we both kinda stared and drooled and we knew that this will be our go to place when in the area. Try the honey duck! I'm not a fan of duck but this was possibly one of the best meals I've ever eaten.
