I'm surprised that Sibies doesn't have a much higher rating. We've been customers for 17 years and have never been disappointed by the quality of the pizza. Stopped at Sibbies pizza for a take out pizza. I'd had their grinders previously (which are great) so it was time to try the pizza. One of the things I like about this spot is that it's possible to 1/2 a pizza one way, and the other half another. I ordered a medium with 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 combination. The pizza was great! I've been buying Pizza at Sibies for about 8 years. It's been consistently good pizza... especially the crust. Until this summer. I'm not sure what happened, but I've been served absolutely awful pies recently. Four pizzas in two months, all had crusts that were soggy with a disgusting taste. This place is great! We stopped in after a visit to the Eric Carle Museum (only 2 miles away) after researching places in the area with vegan options. Sibie's did not disappoint! They have your standard pizza, sub, and wrap selection for anyone who eats meat or dairy, but their vegan options are also great! I had the buffalo tempeh app and the chick'n parm (made with Gardein)--both so good! And my husband enjoyed the jalapeño poppers and buffalo chicken wrap. I contemplated making camp and hanging out until I was hungry again so I could order the vegan meatball sub, use their non-dairy cheese and meatless options to craft the perfect vegan pizza, or choose from their speciality pizzas--there's a vegan Florentine, Mediterranean, Taco, and Southwest pizza! Yum! So suffice it to say, although it's an hour away, we'll be back! One point to note: this isn't a sit-down restaurant--the website does specify that they offer carryout, delivery, and catering, but even so, we wanted to eat there before our drive home. Sibie's fills an essential niche that is oddly under served in the Pioneer Valley: greasy sub/pizza shop. Its my go-to place if I want a Italian sliced meat sub, or their great lamb Mediterranean wrap. They offer a lot of creative pizza options including: Baked Potato pizza, Chicken Taco pizza, and Shepard's Pie pizza. They are very willing to customize too (we often get multiple interesting pizzas for the office). Its nothing fancy, but prices are fair and they give you a lot of tasty food. I called 20 minutes in advance for a meatball sub and a steak and cheese sub. When I got there they told me they had no meatballs. Well, why didn't you call me back? By the time you made my substitute, another steak and cheese, it was anything but toasted. It also had no flavor and the roll was just not at all toasted and barely warm. Mine also had no cheese. It was SUPPOSE TO BE TOASTED! We had a pizza with not enough sauce the last time we ordered. We're done with this place. The staff was not helpful and seemed to care less. I really want to like this place -- the people are so nice!! Also, I was vegan for years and I REALLY appreciate their increasingly extensive vegan menu! But I find their pizza very bland. I work all over the Amherst area and whenever I'm in the south part of town, my lunch always comes from Sibies. I have 3 favorites there, all grinders. The Veggies Burger Blast which has hot peppers and other great stuff. The Mediterranean which has sort of a Gyro feel to it and an Italian Cold Cut grinder which is what it seems. Most grinders come with slaw and chips for free! They also have pizza by the pie or slice and you won't find fresher tasting pizza anywhere as the dough is made there, not frozen. For best results, call your order in about 20 minutes in advance because it can get busy around lunch time. read more

Wow! Healthy pizza! I'm so excited to live near Sibies Pizza! Where else will you find a whole-wheat pizza crust option?? Not to mention a vegan cheese option, and even an almost-gluten-free pizza crust option! (As wheat free as a pizza can be when there is flour dust everywhere.) They also feature three different vegetarian specials, that all sounds so good it is hard to choose. So far my family has been enjoying the Mediterranean Veggie so much that we have yet to try one of the others. Even my kids like it! Not a sitdown place, this is the place to pick up a pizza, or have it delivered. There are no seats, unless you count a picnic table outside. My review is pretty much for one item: the combo pie with meatball instead of hamburger. Honestly, the meatball makes all the difference in this pie. The sausage is nonexistent (unfortunately). The peppers, onions, and mushrooms are sliced thin, just the way I like it. The crust is chewy and tasty. The cheese and pepperoni are nothing special but the MEATBALL. It is amazing. It comes in large chunks strewn throughout the pie and adds the delicious salty meaty aspect to the pie that makes this a 4-star pie even if the sausage is invisible. Plus it's pretty darn cheap. Around $16 for a large (and usually less with a coupon), it's an awesome pie to bring across the street and eat at the Moan and Dove on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Pizza is good... when they make it right. How hard is it to add chicken to a bacon ranch pizza? Specifically asked for it over the phone, and they left it off. Second time, they forgot it AGAIN and just dumped the chicken on afterward, which obviously didn't taste as good because it wasn't baked with the pizza, so the chicken was bland. So lets get this straight, if you are ordering pizza in the amherst area i would avoid sibies and the convicts that run the forsaken dump they call a pizza parlor. If you get a pizza it is decent, hence the three stars. Their calzone consists of 95% ricotta cheese and 5% what you ordered. I lived next to this dumb for a year and tried pretty much everything on the menu, i do not suggest this resturant. The owner is almost always stoned, and he does a terrible job hiding it. Inconsistent is the best term I can think of. The first time we ordered a pizza here it was pretty decent. The chicken fingers we got for my son were really tasty as well. The second time the pizza was over sauced and with too much cheese, so instead of hanging together it just sort of fell apart as you tried to it eat. The excess sauce ruined any chance of a slightly crispy crust that I enjoy. Adding a star because upon reading my review the owner reached out to apologize for the inconsistency and make it right. Pretty much take-out only, with one futon and one armchair to wait in, but every time we've ever tried them they've delivered decent neapolitan-style pizza very quickly. As a neighborhood sort-of-college-town pizzeria, you could do worse, and indeed in previous years several franchises at the corners here in South Amherst have done worse. As far as Pizza goes, Sibies is pretty good, but what really stands out is there dreamy day-time delivery guy. Younger guy, dark hair, dark eyes, handsome. This is going to be a long one - So on a random drive through Mass last night our daughter was hungry and wanted donuts however we convinced her to try some vegan pizza (she's 5 lol). Being vegan and from Connecticut there aren't too many options when it comes to eating out. We usually stick to all vegan food restautants as we are always worried about cross contamination. Searching through yelp we stumbled upon Sibies and the Hubs said let's give it a try and so we did. We ordered a custom 12" V Roni & Cheese, the New Vegan Combo 16" a side of vegan potato skins (which they called immediately after I placed the order as they were out of potatoes, so they subbed cheesy fries instead) along with 2 sides if vegan ranch. We were definitely pleasantly surprised, the fries were crispy and cheesy the pizzas were delicious. Nice crispy chewy crust loaded with our toppings boy they were not skimpy at all and the sauce was delish!! The Hubs said from now on all of our party pizzas will come from Sibies, it would be worth the 40 minute drive every time! Thank you for having vegan options and being diligent on no cross contamination, which I know can be difficult. Sibie's is my favorite local pizza shop in Amherst. I live near the restaurant, so they've always been my go-to place for pizza and sandwiches. They use local and fresh ingredients. For pizza, I love the Lauri's Favorite or the Mexico. And for sandwiches, I can't go wrong with the Mediterranean! Sibie's is delicious and quick. The owner is very friendly, too! Oh Sibies.. Where to begin? Pizza here can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, other times it's "meh." I asked for pineapple on my pizza and I barely got any, and what was there was weirdly distributed. Most the pizza slices only had a couple little triangles per cut, while 2 slices seemed to have most the meager pineapple I was allotted.. While I enjoyed those 2 slices, I would have liked the others more had there been more pineapple (or a better distribution of it.) The sauce to cheese ratio is inconsistent, sometimes it's good, sometimes I question whether they've forgotten to put sauce on the pizza and are hoping no one notices.
