I recently drove over to the location in Ventura and ordered a birthday cake for my wife. I specifically asked for a Caramel Toffee Crunch birthday cake. I pad $74 for it. When I picked it up, she said she mistakenly put the number 40 on the cake and wiped it off (my wife is not 40 yet). I got the cake and came home. There was no Caramel, no Toffee and now crunch. It was a regular cake and extra sweet and honestly, no one liked it. 90% of the cake made its way to the trash can. The cake was horrible and when I opened the box, it looked like someone had canceled an order and instead of making me what I wanted, she decided to pass the canceled cake to me. I would not recommend this place to anyone and that was the last time I'm ever ordering anything from her. Good riddance!!! read more

Purchased a cake for wedding anniversary. Cake was dry and had a lot of frosting. No one at our party ate their slice, they went into the trash. As a matter of fact the remainder of the cake went into the trash. I really wanted to like the cake but my family hates dry cake with a lot of frosting. It was however nicely decorated. Wonderful bakery. The owners are friendly and professional, and boy, do they bake a mean cake! Plus, they have a ton of cake and icing flavor options. We had a cake made for our wedding; it was 3 layers (and several sheet cakes) of vanilla icing, vanilla cake, and fresh strawberry and cream filling. Delicious! Several guests said it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had. And it looked as good as it tasted. Worst bakery ever!! Very poor customer service! The previous owners, were amazing! Had ordered cakes from them in the past, and they were perfect! They also had exceptional customer service! The new owners are horrible! I needed a cake for my daughter's baby shower. Took forever to get a hold of the woman in charge. Her husband was in the store the day we went in to talk to someone about getting a cake made, and he didn't know what the hell he was doing! He wasn't able to help us at all! He told us to call his wife, so I did. Kept trying to set up a time to meet, since apparently she is in her Thousand Oaks location mostly. There was always an excuse as to why she couldn't meet up with us. She said she would get in touch with me regarding a day that would be best. Never heard from her! We ended up going to Gift Of Taste Bakery. Exceptional bakery! The owner from Siblings Bakery quoted me $350 for a cake to feed 35 people. Gift of taste is making the cake that will feed up to 40 people, +36 cupcakes for only $293! Great customer service at Gift of Taste, also. Very communicative! We have been going to Sibling's Bakery since before our wedding in 2007. They have made all of our birthday and special occasion cakes. I was very skeptical when I learned that there was a change in ownership. So much so that we went with another local bakery for my son's birthday cake and it was a big mistake! The cake looked beautiful but tasted awful. We decided to give the new Sibling's Bakery a chance and ordered my birthday cake a few weeks later. It was AMAZING!!! The cake and frosting were exactly what we have been used to for all these years. We met with Dee to design our son's birthday cake this year. She went above and beyond and even added a few extra special details that our son loved! We will continue to use Sibling's Bakery for all of our birthday and special occasion cakes. I have to say that Sibilings has the best cake i have tried. We have ordered at least 7 or 8 cakes from them. However I called this morning to try to place an order and I got disconnected after I had already told the lady what i wanted. I called back I spoke to a new person, and the original person that i spoke to said she could not do the cake anymore and that she tried calling me back. She never actually called, she made that up, i had 0 miss calls. It is possible she might have dialed the wrong number since I never gave her my last name or phone number. I could hear the lady screaming rudely in the background, I do not like when people lie and try to blame customers, I really disliked their customer service today and now they have lost a customer. Their cakes are delicious but the taste is temporary, customer service experiences like this one last a long time and I refuse to support companies with bad service. read more

Siblings made cakes for our wedding in August of last year in Santa Barbara. We couldn't believe how expensive the wedding and cupcake bids we received in Santa Barbara were. We were referred to Siblings by one of my husband's coworkers who regularly orders cakes from Siblings for parties and special events. We decided to do a tasting at Siblings on a Saturday morning even though they are located in Ventura. We received a very warm welcome when we arrived, and it was very apparent that Siblings has a loyal following of customers. Another couple came to pick up their complimentary 1 year anniversary cake while we were sampling approximately 6 of their delicious flavor combinations. Siblings does this for each of their couples, and we just picked ours up yesterday. We were just as pleased with the quality as we were on our wedding day. Siblings is very flexible, and can create just about anything you desire. Their designs range from traditional and ornate, to contemporary and minimalist. Not being huge fans of multi-tiered fondant cakes, we ordered a simple bride and groom's cake of carrot cake and cream cheese frosting, and dozens of cupcakes including the carrot cake, red velvet, and banana buttercream. All of the flavors were a huge hit. Siblings used the ribbon we provide for light decoration, but we really wanted a clean and rustic look. All our guests raved about the cake and cupcakes; many enjoyed more than one! Our only disappointment was that they neglected to distinguish the cupcake flavors by sprinkling crumbs on top, which we had discussed, but it obviously didn't detour from the taste! Siblings achieves a dense yet remarkably moist texture in their cakes that is rare. The frosting was delicate and velvety, not overly sweet. We would highly recommend Siblings for any event. What a great cake! I called last minute after trying numerous bakeries for days to get my husband a Back to the Future themed cake for his birthday. I purchased a Groupon for Siblings Bakery. I decided to use it for my husband's birthday. When I went to pick it up, the woman was extremely friendly and personable. The cake looked lovely and was much larger than I expected. When we ate the cake, everyone was so impressed with the taste and the texture of the cake. I got a marble cake with mocha filling(the filling was at least two times the amount you usually see....it was a huge stripe of filling) and a buttercream frosting. Absolutely delicious. We just got married in April and loved our wedding cake. We went with a 2 tiered cake for photos and then sheet cake. Both flavors were delicious (carrot, yes, carrot, and white with fresh berries)! Had been searching for a pineapple upside down cake for my husband's birthday and no bakery would make it until this one. This cake was soooo delicious! My husband was happy and that made me happy. The cake had caramelized edges and was freshly baked. The only negative thing I could say is the writing I had requested with the Happy Birthday melted before I could get it home.
