Rori's Artisanal Creamery - Double Scoops of Honey Almond Crunch & Brown Sugar Banana

After exploring Camarillo Old Town, and walking off some calories from our huge lunch, we made our way back to Rori's. He was so excited that he ordered DOUBLE SCOOPS of Brown Sugar Banana and Honey Almond Crunch in a waffle cone! The sweet girl who prepared it was so worried that it would topple over that she gave us a cup to put it in -- but my husband didn't have any problems. Fantastic service nonetheless! The place is super clean with lots of seating inside. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to sit on a bench outside to enjoy our treats. So, so sooooooo good!! Perfectly creamy and not overly sweet. We're so glad we found Rori's in Camarillo -- we'll definitely be back! :)

We have also been to their downtown Ventura location, and now this one in Old Town Camarillo. Ice cream and shopping / browsing / strolling definitely go hand in hand. This particular Rori's shares space with Shooby's Chicken & Burgers, and Topa Topa Brewery, which is a brilliant combo of food & beverage places under one roof. After DH and I enjoyed our Shooby's meal, we had to top it off with Rori's. Their Chocolate-Coconut flavor, a non-dairy choice, was creamy and richly chocolatey. High marks for the texture and flavor! The main reason for four stars instead of five is that their "small" portions are very large, with prices to match. The minimum small portion is $9. Especially after a meal, I would prefer the option of a very small amount of iced treat as a finish to dining, not so big that it's almost like another meal! The service was fine. There was a small line and it moved pretty quickly. I was nursing a sore hip, so decided on my order and DH waited to be served, then brought over my "small" cone and his scoop in a cup to where I was seated in between Shooby's and Rori's. I was surprised at the amount of ice cream they provide. The ambiance is Old Town industrial style. Not exactly chic, but not without its charm, either. Bring your appetite, as your portion won't be lacking!

Tifa Chocolate and Gelato was a wonderful discovery. I actually stumbled upon it while getting my…read moreshoes repaired nearby, and I'm so glad I did! They have some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had. The gelato is fantastic as well, especially the Mint Chip and Espresso flavors. Beyond the treats, it's also a great place to find unique gifts and enjoy a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. I love that they offer board games, making it a fun spot to sit, unwind, and spend time with friends or family. The owners are warm and welcoming, and every visit has been a great experience. We're always happy to come back!

I got 7 or so chocolates on a craving and I'm honestly shocked by how disappointing, flavorless and…read moredare I say...dry and waxy the chocolates tasted. I especially hated the blueberry that tasted pure artificial. Then the atrocity that was the coffee chocolate- I took a bite... no flavor at all of coffee, too sweet, then the bite of a dry sorta stale coffee bean. Like literally just a bean. Idk it was weird. The special was "dark floral" I thought it could be a flowery floral flavor you know? I thought that sounded cool and unique. naw...it just had flowers printed on it. Strawberry cream milk was way too sweet barely any strawberry flavor... like not one of these was good. I didn't finish the ones I tried, and I still am leaving the passion fruit I bought since I assume it will be as artificial as the blue berry. Sorry to be a hater but this ain't it.

We stopped at Camarillo Outlets to try and kill time since our Air B&B is not ready until late afternoon. I looked to see if there are any Filipino food spots in the area and I found Lola Betty's. We ordered the short rib plate and the Tasilog plate and lumpia Shanghai- washed it down with Calamansi juice. Everything was delicious, 10/10. The owner came out to check on us and she was so kind, hospitable and shared some history with us on how Lola Betty's came to be. From food truck to walk up, she said that some people really preferred or hoped for a sit down restaurant. I don't have a preference. I only love the soul and passion that is poured into one's food. Love, soul and passion can be found here. The owner says, "I just really wanted a place where you can really be attentive and really take the time to cook the food the way it should be made". I can tell that she loves what she does and she thanked us for trying their food. I wanted to thank HER for feeding us! If I forgot to thank her, here it is. This place is worth a stop if you're smart.

The pricing is fair, portions are generous, and overall the food was good. As a fellow Filipino, I would love to see a little more variety on the menu since it currently focuses on the basics. From a business standpoint, especially considering the location and customer base, I understand keeping things simple. The only dish I wasn't a huge fan of was the Tapsilog, as the meat was a bit salty for my taste. The Longsilog was much better, and I loved that they included a small puto (rice cake) with the meal. Overall, a great experience and worth a visit.
