This place has been in my regular rotation since they opened and I have never had a bad meal here. The concept is a family style hot pot restaurant where you cook your own protein, vegetables or noodles in a flavored brother. You can pick between 1 and 4 different broths per pot. Each table has one cooking stove top, with the larger tables having two. The broths range from vegetarian to mild, to spicy to meat based. Everything is a la carte with the exception of some premade combinations bundling a variety of like items. There's various meat and veggie combos as well as a seafood combo. I always order the veggie combo which comes with a lot that's easily shareable between 4 people. It comes with various greens, mushrooms, cabbage, corn on the cob, cauliflower, and carrots. I don't eat red meat so I stick to their sliced chicken breast or the shrimp balls. My other favorite is the bean curd sticks which is a good meatless protein option. As for broths my two favorite are the Chinese Healthy Herb and the kimchi. I also like their salted crispy chicken appetizer (popcorn chicken). Steamed rice is also a must for me. They have a dipping sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauce to accompany your hot pot. With the exception of the broth adding flavor, the meats and all the ingredients you add to your hot pot are unseasoned. It includes everything from soy sauce and fish sauce to garlic, fresh chilis, vinegar, and crushed peanuts. Whether you like to keep it simple, mild, or spicy there's a sauce you can create. The ambiance is pretty nice. It used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago and they did keep some of the things the same. They have 3 different TVs inside. The two larger ones on the walls each play a different Kdrama and the one above the register plays Kpop music videos. They do have one larger table that I think accommodates somewhere between 10-12 people (don't quote me on that) and another that can fit 6 or 7 people. Majority of the tables sit 4 and a couple sit 2. Depending what day and time you go, it can get pretty busy and you might have to wait a while. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The customer service is top tier. The mood and setting is always nice and dim, so you can have a nice date night or bring the family along. There are two TV's playing Asian dramas that get you hooked. The food is wonderful and the flavors are always filling and scrumptious. I absolutely love this place, the flavors are truly on par with Sichuan hot pot spots you'd find in much bigger cities. The staff is always super friendly and incredibly helpful, which makes every visit enjoyable. It's usually busy whether we go for lunch or dinner, so that says a lot! One tip: go hungry. The portions are huge! They offer different sizes of meat and vegetable combos, and they even have French fries for picky eaters, which is a nice touch. My go to broths are the tomato, collagen, and Sichuan (mild). I enjoy some spice but prefer adding my own at the sauce station. The sauce station is fantastic, you can create so many dipping combinations. My favorite mix is fish sauce, chili peppers, a dash of vinegar, sesame oil, plus garlic and cilantro. So good! They don't have much of a dessert menu but they do always follow up with orange slices but you'll be too full to want dessert anyway! I was in Fresno for work and its was cold so I wanted something that was going to warm me up. Hot pot to the rescue!!! Now, having been to China and having Hot Pots there I am very familiar with the whole process. I was seated quickly and the waiter explained everything and one thing he explained was their portions are big (he wasn't kidding) so make sure you keep that in mind. I ordered beef, shrimp, bok choy and noodles. So you basically cook everything in the hot broth. The beef is cut super thin and cooks very quickly, the shrimp takes about 35-45 seconds in the hot broth. The bok Choy takes 2-3 minutes depending on how well you want it cooked. My daughter had an appointment today and asked if her and I could have lunch! She selected this spot, and im sooo glad she did! Walking in we were greeted immediately with a huge smile from Jenny! We got seated right away for a busy Saturday afternoon, which was a great start. We ordered the House Special Collagen Pork Broth and Seaweed Miso Broth, both of which had a nice base flavor but were a bit on the mild side, I found myself wishing for a bit more seasoning and richness. For the food, we went with the Beef Combo, Tofu & Bean Combo, Mushroom Combo, Shrimp Paste, Money Bag Dumplings, Udon Noodles, and Konjac Vermicelli Noodles. The beef was tender and fresh, and I really appreciated the variety of options across the combos. The sauce bar was a definite highlight, and adding some of the sauces directly into the broth helped deepen the flavor nicely. However, I do wish the enoki mushrooms were trimmed better at the bottom since the base wasn't fully cleaned, and the beef tripe could have been a bit fresher (it looked more beige than white) Service was quick and attentive, and I liked how easy it was to adjust the heat level on the stove. This was the first time we have been to a hot pot restaurant. Entering, the place has a great vibe and ambiance. We had no idea what we were doing, but the server was extremely patient and helpful. After much thought, we ended up ordering two broths (the collagen and the spicy- beware it is very spicy) the veggie combo with one meat and noodles for two of us. I have tried a few of their beef combo plates as well as their vegetable plates and I would recommend any of them! Came in during the late afternoon with my family. Wasn't too busy at all surprisingly. I loved the ambiance and decor. Feels lux and homey. My friends and I pulled into Sichuan Hotpot after a 3-hour drive from the Bay Area--starving to the point where the "hangry" was setting in. We were on our way to a wedding and desperately needed food. Thankfully, this place delivered! The restaurant had a traditional and upscale feel with beautiful mahogany furniture, giving it a cozy, elegant vibe. The seating was super comfortable, which was dangerous for us road-weary folks--we almost settled in for the day! Note: this isn't an AYCE hotpot joint, so come prepared to savor quality over quantity. We got there around 12:30 pm, and the place was quiet--only one or two other groups. We loved the peace (no battling for the last slice of fatty beef here!). Ordering is done through a checklist--easy to use and kind of satisfying to fill out, like checking off goals... but with meat. Soup bases: - House Special Collagen Broth - Rich, silky, and comforting, even without ingredients. - Sweet Tomato Broth - Sweet and flavorful, no spice but plenty of taste. Both broths were so delicious that we almost treated them like soup appetizers. But over time, the broth ran low, and we wished they offered refills--even just topping it off with water would've kept the party going. We had to ration those last bits of broth like it was the final scene in Titanic. It's unfortunate that it's not all you can eat, but they make it up with portion size. The broths were both delicious and not full of MSG. The shichuan broth was mildly numbing and not overwhelming, which I like. The house herbal broth was so herbally and delicious; I felt instantly healthier eating it. All of the meats and veggies were fresh and delicious. Minus a star for the menu being very unclear. The waitress said the combination meat platter came with six pieces of meat, but I think she meant six pieces of each type of meat. We got the three meat combo and then ordered all of the veggies separately. Next time we will try the veggie and mushroom combos since they look like a good amount of good and might be cheaper than a la carte. Collagen broth- rich, umami and very well balanced natural tasting.. sweet tomato- a bit sweet, savory and neutral Sichuan- tingly, herbaceous, oily with a good amount of depth in flavor The collagen broth is my favorite, closely followed by the sichuan.. next time I will try a level up in the spice.. the sweet tomato broth I can honestly do without, nothing that stood out enough to warrant another try for me.. The combo beef cuts were delightful and just the right amount for the price.. the veggie combo is well thought out, for me it's a complimentary must order.. when eating hot pot, sometimes I will opt for noodle or rice to pair.. at this particular time I didn't feel the need for either bcus I wanted my fill of protein and fiber.. Conclusion- I will make this one of my top spot for hot pot in Fresno for now.. and will bring more families and friend to help me enjoy this wonderful treat from time to time.. The day of reservation part of our party came alittle early and was told that they initially sat us with a table with one hot plate and asked if they could move us to a table with 2. They had a vast variety of items on their menu which was also quite overwhelming so many options to choose from. Once our party decided on what we wanted. Everything came out fairly quick and clearly we had ordered more than we had anticipated and there was no room on our table and had so much leftovers. We ordered from the good deal combo plate and the meat that came with it was high in quality and delicious. The we ordered the house special collagen pork broth and the sichuan spicy beef broth (options; hot, med, mild). My favorite of the two was definitely the House special. I also ordered a taro milk tea but felt that it was watered down. They also have a self serve sauce bar. After our food was brought out to us I felt that they didn't check on us as often they should have and didn't get a water refill. I also felt that they could have provided more tongs and serving utensils. There was 6 of us and so many food. Overall I thought the food was good. I would come back during the cooler weather. Came here on a Wednesday night around 7 pm. It wasn't that busy at all. It took a while for my party of three to be seated. There were only two staff working. The menu was a bit intimidating to look at, there was so much going on. Service was kind of lacking, a bit slow and forgetful(servers) despite it not being busy at all. The interior of the restaurant is really nice! Very woody, reds and browns, sleek and definitely had a nice vibe. The pork bone milk broth is very subtle and light. Reminds me of a thick chicken broth. Very nice and warm. The kimchi broth was a bit too sour for my liking. It had a very fermented taste, just like overly fermented kimchi(when the kimchi is left in the fridge for too long kind of taste.) Hands down, just get the sichuan broth! We got it in a medium spice level and it was really good! I normally can't take the heat but the broth was filled(flavor) with Sichuan spices! It is a bit potent if you're into that, very spice-y(not from the heat but the loads of dry spices that's added to the broth) I think next time if I ever come I'll get it at the max level of spice. We also got an order of Napa cabbage, I'd like to point out they give you a generous amount ! We got 3 broths, one beef meat tray, all the mushrooms you can order on the menu and Napa cabbage as sides. I spent almost $100 for my total. Delicious!!! It was our first time and they treated us real well. I paid top dollar for this meal, but it was all high quality and delicious. One thing I would have done differently was order less rice and more noodles the udon was delicious. We tried to eat as much as we could because we weren't sure if we were allowed to take it home... we were!! Ambiance was really nice and dark setting. I enjoyed the refreshing herb broth and thought it was cool to see the spice packet in the soup. For the hot pot items, we ordered the vegetable combo and beef lamb combo. The veggie combo is a bit pricey ($24), but I was impressed with the variety and quantity. It would've been nice if they had a combo that included tofu and veggies since ordering an additional tofu side would've felt like too much food. We enjoyed the meat items and thought the food was great quality overall. I loved how they had so many different options and feel like there would be something for everybody here. The sauce bar was adequately stocked and we appreciated that they didn't charge extra to use it. We loaded up on the garlic, cilantro, and green onions. The dry spice powder was great for dipping the meat. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was almost empty. Service was friendly and parking was easy. Would definitely recommend! read more

The ambiance was very Japan! K-pop TVs going and simple decor. The service was great the workers always checked on us and adjusted the heat on our pots and stirred the broth. One of the top hot pot places I've been too and I've been to a few. The meat was so unbelievably tender and high quality, we ordered quite a lot and definitely ate more than the average person would but it was just so good. The staff here is so kind and attentive The sauce bar was well stocked, really clean. I don't think I can say good enough things about this place. Vegetables were fresh, meat delicious, soup bases were so good. We were really hungry so we devoured way more than the average person should have. But, it was just too good we had to keep going. Located at the corner of Marks and Shaw, in the same area as Edo-Ya and Target. This quaint restaurant is well-designed with tables and booths. Having a large party here might be difficult. Everything is ordered a la carte so we opted for two soup bases, the beef combo ($39), the Chinese donut, egg noodles, and rice. I was not drawn to either bases (house special and Sichuan spicy beef broth-mild). Husband enjoyed the Sichuan base. What I enjoyed most was the quality of the beef. They give you 4 different choices and they were all very tender. My particular favorite was the fatty brisket. Chinese donut is much better (and fresher) at Lime and Basil. Egg noodles are dried and not freshly made so just a heads up. While I won't be back, the service was very attentive and they always came back to check-in on you. TLDR: Good food, get the spicy soup, poorly maintained restrooms. The food here was great, cooking for yourself is not a bad gig. I liked the spicy shichuan soup the most. They will refill the soup base if it gets low. The servers were very attentive and nice. Extra sauces are located on a cart in the middle of the restaurant. Restrooms were pretty dirty, they need to tend to these a bit better marked down 1 star because of them. read more
