We ordered Spicy Salmon Roll, Avocado and Cucumber roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, an order of Taro Tempura (6 slices), Vegetable Tempura (Eggplant, taro root, broccoli, sweet potato), Broccoli Tempura (6 florets). spicy salmon hand roll. My adult children wanted to take me for Mother's Day, so of course it was busy. We used the online waitlist, which worked as it should, and we were seated when our number came up. Our waitress was very attentive, and the food came out quickly. Nothing was phenomenal, but everything was fine and cooked properly. The gentleman bringing our food was rushing too much, and when he reached a plate out towards me to hand it off, the sweet chili style sauce slid off and dumped down my blouse, into my shirt, all over my Apple Watch, and down my side onto my pants and the bench seat. Unfortunately, the busboy just stood there saying nothing. I asked for napkins and he quickly brought them, and never apologized. The waitress came back by and mentioned she heard we had an accident and she was sorry about that. We were not comped in any way. That would have been a of show excellent customer service, but instead I was just left with a ruined blouse and sticky and stinky for half of my meal. I've been wanting to try Tsukiji since they opened. I heard great reviews from friends and family, and finally I got the chance to try! The wait was about 40 minutes, however, you are able to "check in" online, we looked them up on google and it asks if you want check in, this puts your name on the list and then you get text messages about your spot! You can also check the link that is sent with the first text message to see where your spot is. Beautiful cherry blossom decorations All around and a unique ceiling embellishments. Made it a unique look. Service was awesome, and food came out fast, especially considering the place was pretty full. Our server was Clayton and he did a great job explaining how the restaurant works and answered our questions about the food items. He was also just attentive enough, that we didn't feel like we were waiting too long to ask for something else and also didn't feel like he was hovering. We came on a Saturday afternoon at a weird time. We were seated around 1:50pm. We knew they closed for lunch from 3pm-4:30pm, but we figured that they wouldn't "kick us out", however we were wrong. Haha. They do close to folks at 3pm. So Last call for dishes is around 2:30pm, and while we made our way out around 3pm, I don't know if they actually kicked anyone out. But beware that if you want your full 2 hour time limit here, don't go after 1pm. Now for the food- we tried so many things! My absolute favorite though was the Beef short Ribs. The sauce is so delicious!! Like a sweet sesame sauce. We had a few different rolls- Rainbow Roll, Dragon Roll, and a couple others. Dragon roll does have a sriracha kick to it. vegetable tempura, comes with pieces of broccoli, mushroom, bell pepper, sweet potato and taro. Taro was super bland. Next time i'd just order a broccoli or sweet potato tempura and skip the mixture. Shrimp tempura had lovely flavorful coating. Beef udon was delicious and I loved the flavor and noodles. I think I'd like to try the soup next time. One of the things we tried last second that was not what I expected was the fried scallops. They tasted fine, I just wasn't impressed by them and their little dollop of mayo. Overall, we enjoyed the concept of trying new dishes, next time I'll probably try some more hibachi meats, and some nigiri and maki rolls as opposed to the sushi rolls. Make a reservation otherwise you will be waiting for at least an hour to get seated! I tried twice to walk in. Didn't know what to expect because it's an "all-you-can-eat" restaurant. Once in, the server guided us through the menu and explained the "turns". 1st round you order and order comes. 2nd round you order more and then a 3rd round. By the third you are full and order much less. Ice cream is served in those cute plastic cups with a wooden spoon. Raspberry, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate flavors and very refreshing after all that food. Sashimi, sushi and rolls are limited to 5 per person, per round because they don't want any food wasted. It's definitely worth it. I didn't pay so I don't know how much it cost, but I believe someone previously posted it was $35 per person. That's a great price since you tend to pay over $100 for two anywhere else. I ordered sashimi, nigiri, a roll and teriyaki salmon. The rest of the family had fried rice, asparagus, shrimp and clam tempura along with their rolls and sushi. We finally made it here for AYCE sushi and I'm so glad we did! I brought my husband for his first time and it absolutely did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and came out quickly. The variety is amazing, not just sushi either. Tsukiji is one of few spots in Fresno where you can get AYCE sushi. They have an extensive menu with plenty of options for nigiri, maki rolls, fried noodles, soup, hibachi meats, fried rice, and other fried foods. Personally, I think you get the most bang for your buck ordering the nigiri and maki rolls. You can order up to 5 nigiri per person per round, so we definitely stock up on that. I also enjoy their rainbow roll. Obviously the complexity of the rolls is not the same as you would get at a made-to-order sushi spot, but still solid. I went here when they first opened up and the service was not great. We were not attended to often, and some of our orders would be forgotten. I finally got to try Tsukiji!! To think that we were about to go to Red Robin! There is so much to choose from in this shopping center, which is across from River park. You MUST pick Tsukiji at least once and I'm sure you'll keep coming back. We came in early before dinner started. It was kind of awkward at first because no one said anything to us but we just sat in the waiting area until dinner began. Which is at 5 or 6 I think. The staff blasted the coolers and dinner was set to begin. We were seated and met our waitress right away. We had never been there but without skipping a beat she explained everything to us. The way it works is you have access to the entire manure for a flat price. They bring you out small portions of all you ask for. This gives you the ability to try everything. Boy, was the food/experience here fantastic. So glad I gave it a go! I had 8 small plates that I ordered in 3 waves. Love the concept. Suggest YOU skip the normal stuff and try something new. A good example would be the tempura shrimp. While that sounds good, is actually very thin shrimp and a massive casing of batter with very little flavor... the idea is better than the reality. Same thing with some of the sushi... I skipped anything that had the tempura shrimp in it as it was basically filler. Texture, yes. Flavor, no! The service was prompt, the elbow room good. The bathroom needs an update and a little money spent on it. Also, they need to lose all the tacky signage that somebody has taped on the front counters. It ruins the decor and simply cheapens things. Music was a Tad loud but otherwise the restaurant was comfortable. This place can get busy fast so, like anywhere, you wanna get in there right when they open. This is like the best new restaurant that is unlike other offerings in the area. The servings were well proportioned and personal sized. We had edamame's for appetizer and tempura veggies... I had a great time visiting Tsukiji. I didn't make it before the lunch cut off, so I came back a bit before the dinner service so I could get in as they opened. Therein lies my only complaint - the entryway to the restaurant became a crowded mess. I went outside because there were so many people waiting inside and with no instructions from the staff, so I started forming a line outside. Oh well, not really a surprise there, just something to be aware of if you want to get there without a huge wait. Now onto the food. I tried so many dishes. I love that the serving sizes are quite small. I'm sure you could ask for full rolls or something if you have a large party. But as I was solo, it was perfect to get smaller portions so that I could try more offerings without getting full right away which was exactly what I was hoping for in coming here. I didn't have any food I didn't like, and if my notes are correct, I tried a total of 15 different items. I can say I wasn't particularly moved by the udon, but I also don't think I usually am. It's not a strong dish like you expect from ramen, but that isn't a bad thing per se. Other dishes I tried: edamame, miso soup, tsukiji roll, dragon roll, sakura roll, eel fried rice, shrimp tempura, zucchini tempura, crab meat tempura, and yellow tail, red tail, shrimp, salmon fire, and crab meat sushi. My mouth is watering thinking about it again. It was all truly delicious. I can't believe I ate all that at the price I did. I think it was enough for three meals. While I can recommend each of those items, there were a couple highlights. The sakura roll was my favorite roll. The server recommended me that as her favorite, and it did not disappoint. He knew the menu items very well and made suggestions. This is an all you can eat restaurant, but you order off the menu which I like because the items come to you hot and fresh. Heads up, they will charge you if you waste food so be sure you order what you know you can eat. We ordered the hibachi shrimp with which was very flavorful. I normally do not eat deep-fried sushi, but at the suggestion of Clinton I tried the fried tempura roll and it was absolutely amazing. I'm so glad to have an AYCE Sushi and Habachi here in Fresno. From the many times we have visited, it has not disappointed! I am in LOVE with the yellowtail sashimi here. If you find yourself coming in on the weekends (especially towards the evening), I would highly recommend making a reservation prior to your arrival. Reservations can be made via Yelp or by calling in. But expect a wait, even if your reservation time is called upon. There are just so many people eating here for weekend dinner sometimes- so you you know it's going to be good, right? Our servers have always been kind, quick and very lively. Order as much as you want for your first few rounds, as I've noticed it MAY take a while for your server to come back for fourths and fifths. You're not limited to what you can order, so if you're willing to try something new, this is your chance! I love their sashimi options here, the yellowtail is rich, buttery and slightly sweet. A very good option for those interested in trying sashimi for the first time. Their rolls are also very creative. I highly recommend the Volcano and the Tempura roll (something about the warm cream cheese in the Tempura roll will melt off your tongue), it's deep-fried, it's different... but very flavorful. Make sure you also try out the Hibachi meats here as well, they're grilled wonderfully and there is a wide selection for the cooked meat options. The seating area is as large as they can make it, but seats and tables might be fairly near your other dining neighbors. Booths seem to be more comfortable and roomy! Love their nigiri and sashimi. It's tastes fresh and definitely a generous size. Service is a bit and miss but is expected as they are always busy. Most of their things come out pretty quick. We love their yellow tail, salmon, unagi, short ribs, steak and spicy tuna hand roll. Always out to go on date nights. Highly recommend if you like nigiri or with someone who isn't a fan of seafood but you want some. This is the perfect combo! This has become our favorite AYCE, Teeshon was our server. I'm so sorry if I spelled his name wrong. I felt like he got our vibe, knew when you approach our table and when to let us relax, he knew the menu well and just all around amazing. You can always perfect the food, service on the other hand... it's natural behavior of wanting to be there and loving your job. His 30% tip was worth it, he deserved every penny. Menu was awesome, I love how everything was tapas style, enough to enjoy the food but small enough for you to try different items. My family and I were on our way to Merced. After hours of driving, we wanted something to eat. This place popped up for me when I looked up what was in the area. We were just approaching Fresno. This Japanese all you can eat restaurant popped up. I'm so glad we ate here. It was pretty amazing. The food was so good. We came during lunch time. Our waitress was so nice. She explained how to order and came to our table often. All our orders came out fast. I just wish this restaurant was by my house. We loved it that much. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends. And if I'm ever in Fresno again, I would come back and try dinner. read more

Finally a place like this in Fresno! I was excited to see that this place opened up so I finally went and tried it. We came in the smack dab middle of dinner service at 6pm and we waited for an hour and 20 mins. This place gets busy so come early or be prepared to wait a while. Once we did get seated, the menu had a variety of items ranging from sashimi, hibachi, fried tempura, udon, sushi rolls, you name it. Service was incredible for it being so busy. Got to meet one of the owners, as he was our server and chatted with him a bit. He kept coming around to refill waters and he was extremely friendly and helpful about the items on the menu. The food was fresh and delicious and came out super quick after we ordered it. My favorite part was the freshness of the sashimi. Great place to go for lunch or dinner, as it's very causal and bustling with people. Would definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

We visited today for the 1st and it was super busy! That's a good sign IMO, that means the food is good & people enjoy eating there. Also my 1st time eating Japanese buffet style cuisine.
